I tried to say on day 1 that I can think of several games made 4-6 years ago that have better textures, shading, etc

CP2077's models & animations look like something from 2014 and I'm not exaggerating, you can tack Battlefield 1 & FarCry 5 onto your list

I didn't buy CP2077 for the visuals but people can't seem to stop touting it, apart from raytracing the game looks like anything else or worse

The real question is why hardware is struggling to run something that looks like it was made 5-8 years ago. Not to mention the character models, movement, driving dynamics, gunplay, etc. are really nothing to write home about.

Bro it's poverty level RT that just affects reflections and shadows to a small degree

Full RT implementation is so intensive they can only do it to ancient games like Quake




It's not "next gen" tech, ray tracing has been around since the 1970's in cinema, Disney has been rendering their animated films with it for 20 years

He has hated on the graphics since day 1. Still refuses to tell me what other open world game looks as good. He suggested it was an Ubisoft title. Which was pretty god damn funny. The only two that are on par IMO would be HZD or RDR2. And those two are both flat, mostly empty environments, very minimal NPC's, etc. Not nearly as hard to make look good as a huge, very vertical, very dense city.

If you can look at some of the screenshots posted of this game around the net on PC/Ultra/ray tracing and not agree this is one of, if not the the nicest looking titles ever released, you need your vision checked or are just flat out lying. Period. (The latter is the more likely since some of you are so dead set on sh|tting on the game even when you're just blatantly wrong.)

RDR2 looks more realistic but not necessarily as rich in "pop" and also landscapes are easier than city-scapes as far as a load. The characters are MORE real for sure. Especially Arthur.

Assasins Creed Odyssey looks more bold too, but the NPC characters are a bit generic and more basic so easier to run. And again, landscapes are easy.

HZD is not on par with those two and looks overly cartoony and blurry. The characters look janky and retaraded, like worse than Witcher 3. Its in a similar texture resolution realm but the design is lacking (didn't even want to finish playing it)

Also I think these people aren't even playing it in 4K and that's why they think it looks like the others. Everyone kinda needs to establish what they are playing it on because its different for everyone even based on the TV or monitor you use and your PC build.

I agree in some ways its the best looking game overall. Especially when driving and looking up in the sky high buildings and every line is crisp and colorful.

Tech weapons will be cool after they're coming fixed and working properly. Mine will be working one firefight then not fire in the next.

Bruh, shotgun is amazing …. I'm mowing down people and it sends them flying due to the power keeping them in a stun lol, there's a further perk you can use to make em the distance they get thrown off further lmao…. Although you really need to balance it out with tech/pistol/sniper because the shotgun range isnt all that good and half the time you're fighting people in an open world, not confined corridors.


I hate the fact that they added sniper rifle perks under the reflex tree … I havnt put points into reflex at all lol … Mosty putting points into Body/Technical/Netrunning and then Cool. Also has anyone found a use for alcohol or why its in the game lol …. I just sell em off because it seems like it does nothing other than debuff you lel …. I thought there might be a questline or some chit, seems a bit redudant. I odnt think its even used for crafting?

RDR2 in some ways as far as characters may look more real. AC Odysesy…sorry, but IMO isn't on par with this game in any category visually.
HZD looks beautiful and IMO just as nice, but in a different way. World is just different and not comparable to me.

Well CDPR actually paid real architects as well as real city planners to help design Night City, so that sounds right.

yea i mean it looks awesome to me, i just wouldn't know though cause i'm no building guy. i think the one thing it's missing is public transit, like a monorail. i heard it's in there but haven't seen it yet. haven't even been to japantown yet. still south of that

Anyone else noticed that if you are exploring, do a 360 turn and half the vehicles and people around you instantly change into different models?

Keep turning around and they just morph into different models over and over, women turn into men, cars turn into vans, lmao. Don't mean to keep hating on the game but.. the fuq is this?

yeah RDR2 can look pretty amazing, but it was still nerfed from the outset by being forced to cater to shietty consoles. There's always a haze n' shiet over everything, don't get the same detail as cyberpunk

Eager gamers titillated by the supposedly historic video game’s marketing helped make up the total development expenditure and promotional costs, all over a hundred million dollars, through over 8 million preorders. Many would be disappointed; they’d put a $60 stack of chips on a promise, not a product. But for publisher CD Projekt Red, the system was working as planned.

Though they are indie tier developers, they are using the best assets available out there that modern hardware can handle. The quality is undeniable. The indie scene is where the most quality assets tend to be though anyway because they don't care about mass adoption or performance limits. The game is outdated but also cutting edge at the same time.

Part of what makes it amateurish is that they made it too high quality and had no room for anything else from a design engineering stand point.

But the assets used? Those are definitely on point.

At some point they just gave up on the game and made an epic tech demo.

What they really want to say to PS4 players is we stopped giving a fuk and just busted our load making a pornographically indulgent asset fest that hardly any system except the high end can handle and we aren't gonna let you hold us back.

I dont know if I'm blind or what …. No troll, but I honestly cant tell the difference when RTX is turned on, especially the lighting/shadows … I've turned the lighting all the way upto psycho and tested different quality settings, but I still cant see the difference when I turn it off, I dont know if its a subtle feature which is why I dont really see it. the only time I notice RTX is when I turn on reflections, which makes it look quite good, but even without reflections it still looks absolutely amazing imo.
