Inb4 he goes John Wick on CDPR
Don't hold your breath, it will be months before the game-breaking bugs are patched and probably next summer before performance is where it should be

There's where you're gonna lose me though…. RDR 2 was a boring ass game. I was so hyped up for it and even triple dipped on the game (dont ask) , hated it on my ps4 pro and thought I'd enjoy it on my new pc instead with better framerates and graphics, but it still lost me …. game is "slog" defined.
Bugs and stupid AI aside, I feel more immersed in Cyberpunk than I ever did in RDR 2. RDR 2 maybe an incredible cowboy simulator and one where's far more polished out of the gate than Cyberpunk (in its current state) but the game is never any "fun" … Cyberpunk is fun. Rockstar for all its work of creating an amazing simulator, forgot the fun part of why we play video games. RFR2 had a ton of issues in it as well, especially when it comes to the gameplay loop or mission design and from what I recall, the initial PC release was a mess when it came to performance.
But again, I cant comment on the story / consequences in Cyberpunk too much because I've hardly done enough of the story or even sidequests for that matter since I've only received a few so far into act 2, but the "rpg" choices given to me so far fall flat of what was offered in the Witcher 3 or even Fallout New Vegas, which is probably the standard if you want an open world that has varying ways to finish quests and do things.
Honestly, if you want a deep rpg experience with tons of consequence/choices …. CRPG's are where its at … Games like Baldurs Gate 3 , Divinity 2, Pillars of Eternity are miles above anything offered.

Not sure how you can’t see how much more cringey that is than just letting the people who are enjoying the game just enjoy the game. You’re the fking delusional one.

I've never onced bashed you for liking and praising the game all this time; yet you constantly bash myself and others for not liking it

As an example, the card game Gwent in the Witcher 3 is the definition of pointless. You get a paltry sum of gold for every win. There's no armor or weapon upgrades. Hell, there's nothing you get out of Gwent at all besides more cards and an extra side quest for a tournament later in the game. Yet I was enthralled by Gwent and went around asking every NPC to play me.
The only time I really feel that is when I'm doing the story side missions in Night City. I wanted to see what happened to Panam and Del and Judy, but I had no reason to interact with anyone that wasn't involved in a story. Nor did I really want to. The gigs, while fun at first, end up feeling more like a chore rather than something I want to do.
I think Night City is missing its Gwent. Not a card game per se. Just something that gives the city and its npcs a bit more depth and life, something that lets you see how the normal people are interacting with this fuked up world, something other than the gangs and corps. Gwent made the world of the Witcher pop just a little bit more. It's like you saw that and thought, "Oh, it's not all monsters and magic. There's a whole city and things to do here." That's the feeling that Night City lacks imo. Here, it's just go to X, blast Y gang member, rinse and repeat until you have enough eddies to buy Gorilla Arms.

I've been doing it and been having a lot of fun, although it does get repepitive doing the same gigs/sidejobs that has the same gameplay loop over and over again …. I mean, sure they do have some side stories and some of them are interesting, but it does get a bit old when you're constantly doing them.
But yes, definitely do those jobs and get to dem docs …. I got a legendary operating system now that kicks ass. Also lold at how I ended up in the voodoo boy turf by accident because I was searching for a higher tier ripperdoc, but the dudes entire set up was poverty as fuk, even he himself admitted to it and when I checked out his goods, all of them were poverty or stuff that I already had + less choices. But since I was in the area, and Voodoo boys are skilled netrunners, decided to pay a visit to their cyberdeck shop and hory chit …. The quick hack upgrades they had were insane lol … Bought a few of em and my quick hacking is pretty damn beefy now, but I havnt invested into that tree so they're not as effective as they, but a massive upgrade over what I had.

There’s also making my guy a hacking god. I saw one video where a guy could hack a group of enemies and use a “contagion” hack and they basically all just die without firing a shot.

I'm still early on, so I cant comment …. But yeah, in my current playthrough of the game as of right now … The sidequests do feel fkkn pointless ….. I've gotten a couple which were pretty cool
Early act two spoilers when it comes to a certain car
Spoiler!
The Delamain sidequest was pretty good, i was annoyed that you had to hunt down 7 cars, but whatever, most of the cars were kinda interesting and each had unique voices and scenarios for you … and in the end you had a final quest where you could have decided what to do you with it in the end, unfortunately my intelligence level was low, so I could only choose the option where Johnny called me a kunt lmao
And another one early act 2
Spoiler!
I'm having to hunt down 20 fkkn tarot cards for Jackies sloot scattered randomly around the city ….. This is definitely a chore, but I hope there's a big pay off
Some random gig gig that was entirely unique-
Spoiler!
I apparently met Jesse Cox, the youtuber (I didnt know this) who had a cybernetic penis transplant gone wrong …. that was pretty fun and cool. Also had one where I was transporting a car and there was a dude inside the car so I had a small interaction with him and given a choice what I could do
But yeah, I do agree though, in my first and definitive playthrough of Witcher 3, I never once touched or had any interest in gwent until I did it in my failed second playthrough and I fell in love with it completely … I never finished my second playthrough, but I'll always remember it as my gwent playthrough the and the playthrough which eventually led me me to buying Thronebreaker, which is amazing and I still need to finish.
But even this early on, the sidequests do seem to be lacking compared to Witcher 3. Which gave you so many good sidequests in such a short amount of time.

Lol contagion is fun as hell …. But because I was so weak in netrunning it didnt do much. You can even get an Overheat that spreads to other enemies.
Netrunning does sound pretty cool if you put in the points into nothing …. But nothing will ever beat blasting dudes into valhalla with the shotgun.

Best way I can describe this game right now as a base Ps4 guy is Cyberpunk is like having sex with the woman of your dreams with a condom on.

Like others, I'm waiting until sometime next year to see if the patches improve things. Not dropping $60 on a broken product.
Plus, my One-X is my "strongest" gaming device right now, and it sounds like the further you get from the Series-X or PS5 right now, or the most beefed out PC rigs, the game has the most problems.

This is one of the legitimate complaints imo, the city is stuffed full of sexual shiet, like billboards and barely dressed female NPCs and dildos and sex shops and strip clubs and etc etc….

but then there's only one female joytoy you can fukk in the whole place, and the brain dance stuff literally doesn't exist, you can buy them but they won't play on the headset that Judy gave you. They let you customize your genitals in the character building but then you never see any junk from either gender then entire game. It's like they cut all of that out at the last minute but left the bits that make it obvious they cut it, so fukking weird.
Then there's the basically one relationship per V gender, where you bang them once and then that's basically it, no more meaningful interactions with them even though you're "in a relationship". Might as well have not even bothered with relationships if you're gunna make them that shallow, from what I've heard the ones in Witcher and other cdpr games are way more in depth, so why tf did they go so far backwards with this new "next gen" game?
If you're gunna claim your game and the lore/city is super sexual, don't make the actual gameplay super prudish. fukkin phgts
CDPR is clearly in deep shiet with failed upper/middle management and terrible turnover, shame really. How do you fukk up a successful business at this point, the pathway to ez success is well traveled and not a secret, stop hiring fukwit management and pay your employees enough to retain them.

The numbers seem to suggest that people who strongly dislike the game are in the minority, but that the intensity of their dislike is overshadowing the people who are enjoying it

lmfao.

I can't stress how much fun the actual GAME part is for me personally. I wen't in mostly blind, so crazy high expectations haven't ruined it for me. I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO FUKKING PLAY IT PROPERLY.
I'm sure they'll eventually patch it, but goddamn they fukked up releasing it so soon. I always joked about the realease date being April 2021. When the delays kept happening, I was sure that would be the case. Instead, they aimed for before Christmas. "Guess I was wrong" I thought. Turns out that for last gen console players though, the true game actually won't be seen until 2021. I guess in a way, I was right all along.
Sometimes I hate being right.

The day metacritic opened reviews it was nothing but people who likely didn't play at all just giving it 0's and 1's. The fact that it's at a 7 right now despite that clearly shows that most people (who actually are paying the game) are really liking it. The reviews from the last 3-4 days are way more positive than negative. Which makes it pretty clear most people jumped in asap to give it a bad score. Probably the same types as ITT who already made their mind up that they hated the game or hoped it would be bad before it even came out. Then as soon as it had some bugs it just gave them a good reason to double down and go full retard on the hating. These people already made their minds up that if the game wasn't 100% polished and perfect, they were going to talk ****. As this thread and many other places across the internet have displayed.

All the same ones that are ok with every other studio releasing games with bugs, poor optimization, etc…but that's ok lmao.
Valhalla has been out for 5 weeks now. Still riddled with bugs. Some of which are game breaking and don't let you finish main story quests. All while Ubisoft used resources from previous games, a way bigger work force, etc. It was literally a copy/paste game with different characters and story. Still couldn't release it bug free.
But CDPR was expected to do so with a fraction of the work force, last nearly year (arguably the most important time of the game as far as getting it ready for release) working from home, and a brand new game, the style of which they never did.

Lol if you think your last-gen poverty wattage rx470 GPU is ever going to handle a game with this many NPC's on-screen all the time without it looking like xbox360 renders

Inb4 the game is patched to entirely suit Twitter freaks and the share price drops even more.

Should be a dozen brain dance clubs scattered across the map and a hundred joytoys you can bang if they wanted to match up the appearance of the city with actual gameplay.

whenever stuff like this happens i can't tell if i'm just lucky or people are bitching just to bitch with ridiculously high standards. i remember back when the evil within came out and people were saying it was completely broken i had no issues at all.
i'm on a base ps4 (playing since they released that 1.04 patch day after release) and the things i'd classify as issues i've had are:
- corpo story: really early on after you get your first augmentation and owe viktor money, the questline says to talk to him, but the only option is to pay him 21,000, which you don't have at that point. fiddled around with different things before looking it up, loaded previous save and it was fine. this bug was technically gamebreaking if i would have continued on.
- main quest story: leaving that clouds club, there's a cutscene where V feels side-effects of the relic, and your screen goes fuzzy. after the cut scene, i noticed that the screen would kind of pulsate slightly like a technical glitch every few seconds. was annoying but not enough to stop playing. when i turned the game off and on again it was fine.
- in about 20 hours i think i've had 5 or 6 crashes. annoying, but not the end of the world. any open world game like this i've made a habit of saving all the time, used to doing it from bethesda games.
the AI for NPCs is really bad, but i think a lot of it depends on how you play it. i'm aware of the glitch where if you punch a random NPC and turn around a few times people just pop in and out, but i haven't experienced that because i want to play in a way that feels more realistic than treating it like a sandbox. in the witcher you couldn't even attack NPCs. i know that people that wanted a more sandbox experience didn't like that, but to me i never even thought of it because it's not what i wanted out of the game.
i think the biggest issue i have with the game is driving AI. when you park a car in a driving lane the AI can't adjust, but at the same time there's really no parking options if you're getting out of a car. you just have to pull it up on a sidewalk basically, which breaks immersion no matter how you play it.
there are definite issues but i don't know what people are talking about for it being unplayable.
