He wouldn't be my first choice but I like Ward. If he was 2 inches taller dude would be a top 5 pick. I don't like the fact that he is only a 1 year starter but I was worried about the same things with Lattimore and he was a stud so I'm not going to overlook someone because of that again.

I'm still hoping we find a partners to trade down with to pick up a 2nd round pick.

At 9 0r 10 I'm starting to feel like just take the best guy available. Despite how well they played those last few games, this team still has a lot of holes. Still, I'd rather the BPA be a pass rusher or OL.

Free agency will reveal a lot.

And of course the coin flip will be key. Really hope we get #9 as it improves our chances to trade down and obviously land a better player if we decide to stay put.

Re-signed Cassius Marsh. Not a bad depth signing but not the ex-Pat I wanted to see us give a new deal to. Hopefully the other one isn't far behind for a much longer deal.

I feel like they can sign skill positions in FA and draft the rest. If they can replicate last years draft AND sign players that can contribute, for sure they'll make a run.

We're not including guys that were injured, Garcon, Ward, Armstead, Tartt, Trent Brown, Malcolm Smith, would like to have seen Burbridge with Jimmy. Not pro bowlers, some not even starters but the team was stretched real thin.

I like the Marsh re-signing, dude showed he has the ability to get some pressure from the edge, especially if we keep him fresh with some depth on the line.

I have to admit he played pretty well after we picked him up. The irony is the Pats dropped him and their defense was awful. They definitely could've used him in the SB to try to get even a hint of pressure on Foles.

Really the only skill player that excites me in FA is Allen Robinson and I'm not sure the Jags let him walk without a franchise tag.

I think OL and CB will be the areas to really target in free agency as far as starting caliber players. We should definitely keep an eye on what Detroit does with Ansah. If they let him go I would think we go hard at him. Then I think we can bring in depth at other positions but the type of guys you hope are pushed off the roster by rookies like Tim Hightower was last year.

This WR class isn't stacked like the one a few years ago but it's actually pretty good at the middle rounds. If we don't draft Calvin Ridley there are guys there I'd love to bring in here and develop, especially if we can't get Robinson in here.

I've seen a lot of people throwing out a possible trade with Buffalo moving up for a QB and giving us the #20 and #21 picks…I would absolutely love that. Saw one mock which had us making that trade + other picks and then taking Harold Landry and trading down with the Jags for #29 and other picks. But then having Denzel Ward go at #28 with us taking Guice.

While I certainly wouldn't complain about that draft it would really bum me out if we made those moves but saw Ward go just a pick before our spot. The more I watch of this kid the more I want him. He plays much bigger than his size and a first round where we can get Harold Landry and Denzel Ward would turn this defense into something special.

I am happy for this. But now I would like to see the breakdown on how this effects the rest of our cap space for the next few years. And of course curious on how this works with the FA coming up.

This deal will be a bargain soon enough.

Jimmy Garoppolo has led his team to more points per game in his starts (28.3) than any other quarterback over the last 25 seasons (minimum 7 starts)

That list includes Brady, manning, Young and Rodgers. Pretty interesting stat!

I would not mind if this happened. I guess it'll depend on whether or not there is still a QB available in our position, hope we get #9.

What’s badass is that we still have a top 10 pick. We could’ve easily traded away our first rounder and been completely happy about it right now and still been looking forward to the offseason. But getting a franchise elite QB and still having a top 10 pick is so hnnnnnggg.

Can't wait for the start of free agency.

Have a bad feeling Allen Robinson and Ziggy Ansah get tagged but if they don't I hope we go full steam ahead at bringing those guys in here.

Assuming they're not franchise tagged I'd love to see an offseason something like this

Sign Ansah, Robinson, Jensen and Kyle Fuller(he may get tagged too tho) or Aaron Colvin - starters at Leo, WR, C, CB respectively

Trade down with the Bills for 20 & 21

Draft(going off cbs rankings to stay honest)

1a. Denzel Ward
1b. Ronald Jones
2. James Daniels
3a. DJ Moore
3b. Harold Landry(no idea why the fuk they have him so low, honestly if we don't sign Ansah I'd take him at 9/10 let alone in the 3rd)
….good enough

As I kept looking at their rankings I just don't get them. Saw Rashaad Penny available for what would be after our 4th rounder and it felt like i'd be cheating.

In essence I hope we use free agency to address needs and positions which you want to see vets in - corners, WRs and most importantly - Center.

The draft plays into all of our needs very well outside of pass rusher.

Add talent via the draft at corner, OL, WR and RB. Basically young talent you can develop to replace the aging vets.

Love the depth at RB, CB, interior OL. WR isn't super strong at the top but wouldn't shock me to see some talented guys come out of there and I hope we grab one to develop.

Genus, I’m all in on AR15 so this may be false hope but I have a hard time believing they franchise tag him.

For one thing I think they want to have as much cap room as they can have heading into free agency so they can potentially get the QB they want. Also, their WR corps is pretty solid even without AR15. Westbrook and Cole are young guys with potential and Hurns is a fine player as well. They could also sign a veteran player like Eric Decker or Sammy Watkins if they want a veteran player. As I’m typing this I just remember they have Marqise Lee who they may spend more resources retaining with the flashes he’s shown and being cheaper than Robinson. And I honestly just can’t see Coughlin advising them to use a large chunk of their salary cap on a WR coming off of a major injury. Doesn’t seem Coughlin-esque.

Maybe I’m just way too hopeful on him but I have a feeling he will hit FA

I hope so man. I'd love to have him here with that size. We improve our redzone offense and chit is gonna be scary.

Would love to bring him in and find a way to get Ronald Jones at RB in this draft. The more I watch the more I like him for this scheme. I can't trust Joe Williams and hope we don't rely on him(if he wakes up great but don't rely on him)

Improve the OL and the running game and Jimmy will ball out.

I just hope it’s a friendly deal. Sort of concerned what the market is for Robinson, coming off an injury, and a down year prior to the injury. I know Bortles is trash, but still something to consider.

I’ve had a crush on him since his clutch catch against Michigan. He’s the real deal assuming everything is okay with his knee. And judging by his social media he seems like a good guy as well. Only problem with his stats is the quarterback.

Was watching it until my feed went out. I love it! I am pleased with Jimmy he is saying everything he should and honestly looks like he is still in shock from everything. Lots of talk about teammates and basically some moral which we did not have until he came. And as we can see everyone played better. That makes really excited for this coming season.

I can't wait to hear more news. Gonna be a little lul now unfortunately til combine in a few weeks.

I hope Jimmy finds at least an apartment in the Bay area and starts to work with the guys out there and keeps putting in work on his mechanics.

I'm still nervous about our defense coming together but I think we have some good building blocks but adding a pass rusher will be key. I expect us to address CB in free agency and the draft.

Thinking we're looking at this defense assuming teams don't tag certain players.

Base:

LDE: Solomon Thomas
NT: Mitchell
DT: DeForest Buckner
LEO: Ziggy Ansah
Sam: Marsh/Harold
Mike: Reuben Foster
Will: Malcolm Smith
CB: Witherspoon
FS: Colbert
SS: Tartt
CB: Free agent

In Nickel Thomas moves inside to 3T next to Buckner. Ansah would rush from the left and we bring in another guy off the right at Leo and Ward comes in at Nickel CB.

I think LB also becomes a pretty sizable need especially if Foster can't stay healthy or out of trouble

Roquan Smith would be a great get. I'm not super excited about Edmunds.
