idk, I don't really sell anything I just disassemble for the parts. I'm not doing any hacking shiet either and it sounds like there's a option there to make money

still using the base car, can't decide what other one I'd wanna drop money on lol

kinda funny how the initial angry reaction was how this game is shallow and lifeless and on rails and etc, but it's turning out that there's a bunch of different ways to approach playing it

I can't help myself. Any RPG I play I pick up EVERYHTING and sell it as I go. But like I said yesterday, I haven't bothered crafting anything yet and just been selling crafting parts which make you a lot of $$.

Yeah, not sure how anyone could say the game is shallow. They either didn't play at all, or literally didn't play more than 6-8 hours in.

For me, it's all just getting better and better with every hour I put in. It's really awesome how you get better and better with certain weapon types the more you use them. My pistol reload speed is absolutely insane at this point. lol
Also, not sure how many people notice (or how many even shoot guns IRL to know), but reload animations and other weapon manipulations all are very very good and realistic with all weapon types I've seen so far.

Getting money is a grind for me… I’m only getting a couple thousand per each job. And then I can sell picked up guns off enemies, but that doesn’t account for much.

I think I only got around 4K eddies for killing a cyber psycho lol

I must be playing all the right gigs. One I did a few nights ago paid out a little over $10K.

I've been stingy with the reload speed perks, might have to drop a couple in there

The NPC are pretty impressive looking, tons of unique but still cool looking ones around, pretty clear there was a team pumping out NPC designs for years

I guess it could be. i7-4790K @ 4.9ghz, but I actually get better FPS on my rig than my kids 2700x.

If I can play Warzone at 1440P ultra with 120+ FPS, I should be able to play CP at 1080P high with decent FPS.

They obviously did not optimize anything. It's probably rendering **** miles away you can't even see. You know it's true because when you are in a closed-off room the FPS isn't any better.

yeah the looks of the NPC is what i'm blown away by tbh. idk why everyone is ****ting on them. they've got unique dialogue and chat, and they all look so distinctly unique

they suck at optimizing is what i've been saying lol. the witcher 3 was total garbage at launch. took them several months or way longer to get it to where it is today. but it's odd because ur GPU is waaaaay better than mine in the benchmarks. but i'm playing at max (without raytracing) at optimal fps, or without fps issues at all

I think I've screwed myself by not hacking enough. Some jobs I'm not able to enter doors because level isn't good enough…so now I'm just going around hacking everything I can like vending machines…is that a fast way to level up?

Then something is wrong with your sh|t, because indoors my frame rate would go up 10-12 FPS before I just locked everything to 60.

Any mission you can't do because of hacking, there's another way in every time for me. Nowhere along the way in my ~30 hours could I not do a mission, main or side, because I didn't level enough into something.

The game is shallow?

I was ripping around the city last night doing side quests. Driving to one waypoint, I spotted a random exclamation mark inside a building on the side of the road. Went into the building, which turned out to be a bar, and it was a couple gang members harassing a drunk dude. Bartender knew me (not sure if I had been here previously) and asked me to show the guys how to behave in the bar.

Beat the guys up and the drunk dude thanks me, transfers over some $$$ but offhand mentions "the bartender has the rest". I approach the bartender and he leads into talking about his wife, thinking she's cheating on him and how he wants me to tail her or something. Accept the new quest, walk outside the bar and Silverhand materializes leaning up against the building, then he proceeds to go on a rant about chitty people in Night City or something

Pretty cool sequence of events that started with me noticing a random mini quest and developed into listening to a rant from Keanu

8 threads from Haswell won't bottleneck a 1080ti

Note the bolded^

JFL I can run RDR2 maxed out @ 4K for 70-90 fps and that is by far more intensive

RDR2 has custom rasterizations & techniques that literally don't exist in any other game, it's the best looking open world game made to date when set this way

At first I was selling guns and clothes yeah but then I realized if you go to the crafting tab and click upgrades, every item you own can be marginally/incrementally upgraded indefinitely using color components (white, green, blue, purple) to have more DPS or armor so literally everything you sell for money is in a way taking away from your maximum DPS and armor because everything can be upgraded to be slightly better by just disassembling your loot instead of selling it.

You can either buy crafting components using money or disassemble the items to get crafting components of their color, but I think its more expensive to sell items and use money to buy materials as opposed to just dissasembling. So if you sell a purple item for a few thousand, that's actually pretty dumb because you can disassemble it and upgrade your purple weapons or armor to the next level instead of making a little bit of money.

So every item you loot you have to decide if you want money or power for it.

I still have to buy the double jump too though…

1080P high

Here is 1080P Ultra. Doesn't look any better than high.

Yes, I've been talking about how good some of the side missions are and they can definitely snowball into something bigger and more interesting. Also I personally really like the interactions with Johnny. Sometimes he's just saying something smartass, but other times he makes you think about the decisions you're about to have to make and can make you second guess yourself (in a good way).

Yeah, for now crafting doesn't seem worth the time. I'm sure in the end game it will be once you're no longer just finding better gear every 2-3 hours and are forced to upgrade what you have if you want anything better.

Jumping is actually really useful and I'd bet most people are overlooking the whole "athletic" side of this game. It's not quite on the same level as the parkour in Dying Light, but V is super mobile. You can sprint + slide, vault, double jump and mantle over ledges, who knows what else

Also not sure if it has been discussed or if there's info already, but there's a sixth skill tree node that appears to be locked out for now

Yes, but you can also progress the athletics leveling up to 20 via doing tasks to gain xp in it

Like with the handgun tree, if I fire my handgun I get xp into the tree which gives additional perks and bonuses

So far I’ve found the only thing that gives me athleticism xp is running /jumping and it’s barely any. I’m trying to max all trees as much as I can to get as many bonus perks as I can

You can only level them to as high as you assign skill points into the main branch but I maxed everything to 6-8 pretty quickly except athleticism

Apparently you should get athletic xp even just swinging melee weapons at air, but I haven't tried it yet

Sounds like anything using stamina should give xp
