I understand police reform but this has gotten out of hand. I don't blame them for walking out. I would have too. It ain't about the money now. Without police chaos will ensue. I dont know how many times I have heard the word police stopping criminals from doing bad. Now with no worry of consequences they can do whatever they want.

A main step forward would be requiring the FBI to pick juries for arraignment of police officers as well as the trial.

As it stands, the prosecution and defense are both in the same side and will stack the jury. That's where this has broken down....

Decent point but I think one of the few things I would change:

Less agencies, why the **** you need like 50+ agencies in one nearby jurisdiction? Where I work we have TWO and its hard to communicate properly.

I think we do need to let **** slide more. Walk away from arrests when we know it will go south (which to be fair we do a LOT) but there needs to be a compromise. When we walk away from a subject who is barricaded or running, and they know they're under arrest, when they finally do get taken into custody I think their jeopardy needs to be MUCH higher. So, if timmy toe shoes locks himself in a house after running from the Police for lets say a stolen car. Do we really need to get in there and get him now? Loud speaker his ass with your body cams on telling him his jeopardy, he refuses? okay mandatory sentence automatic when he does get picked up. I'm also okay with it not being jail, financial, asset seizure, whatever will work best. Just my 2 cents, sometimes we start fights because we know we lose the charge if we don't get him in custody right away

I'm from Canada so I don't get half of that **** but I'll try:

"Bull****" dog alerts aren't bull**** if they find stuff I guess?

We don't really do "terry frisk" which I assume is investigative detention. I've used that **** like once, either you're getting arrested because i know you did it or i'm not talking to you. Is that a big issue down there?

Entering a house without exigent is interesting. Depends on the circumstances, I've been INVITED in to houses lots where clearly criminal **** is goin down. I never go in illegally because I like my job.

And my favourite. A good cop will always be able to legally coerce ID from you. Knowing your bylaws and statutes and doing some minor surveillance before speaking to someone you want to speak to is how any cop in a big city rolls. Usually results in a warrant arrest or a chit chat with no tickets, but knowing how the provincial offences procedures act interacts with the criminal code and your authority is the best way to ensure you are lawfully placed to speak to someone. that said, i can chat to anyone i want but if i wanna know who they are bad enough i will lawfully be placed to do so without stumbling over my words like a fool when they call me out. examples: jaywalk, smoking next to an air intake, smoking in a rental vehicle, biking on the sidewalk, etc.

THIS ALL SAID: I do think cops that break the law deserve to be charged, sent to **** details, or overly made to want to quit their work. EDIT* - or be fired. I also think that cops deserve quick investigations. 3 years to watch a video and determine if a cop should be charged is a ridiculous amount of time, i can write that file off in an hour or two or do the charge package in 3.

I would have walked out as well. Good news is laws are still in place. Any reasonable evidence that shows someone taking clear advantage of a lack of police presence by way of criminal activity will still be held accountable.
