Really hope we get Norwell. We have so much cap space I want to see us really go for it all next year.
I see that Andy Levitre may be a cap casualty. Would make a lot of sense since Kyle knows him well and knows he can play in the scheme.

I was gonna wait til after the combine but I'm bored lol.

Pre combine mock

I'm assuming we sign a combination of some of these FAs

Kyle Fuller/Aaron Colvin/Trumaine Johnson
Isaiah Crowell
Sammy Watkins(don't trust this dude at all but maybe worth the shot)
Chris Hubbard
Andrew Norwell/Andy Levitre
Jerry Attaochu
Nigel Bradham/Avery Williamson

Draft
1 - Trade down with Arizona for #15, their 2nd rounder
1 - Harold Landry - SAM/LEO
2a. Ronald Jones - RB, probably need to trade up for him
2b. James Daniels - future at C
3a. Quenton Meeks - CB to groom
3b. Lorenzo Carter - SAM/LEO
4. Austin Corbett - G to groom
5. Troy Fumagalli - TE
6. Korey Robertson - WR
7a. Skai Moore - OLB
7b. Jester Weah - WR

Looks like the Colts are moving on from Gore. I would love to see him come back for one game and then retire as a niner.

I love Frankie but if he wants to do a 1 day deal and retire that's cool…but keeping him on the roster would be a waste.

Agreed. I can't really see anyone picking him up at this point.

Finally get to see some men in underwear tomorrow.

AR15 still not franchised and with this quote:

It’s over $16 million,” Caldwell said. “That’s a lot of money and it would prohibit us from doing some things and helping the team around him.”
I think he may actually hit FA.

If we get AR15 and either Norwell or Quentin Nelson, with a legit RB I think we’ll have a top 5 offense next year.

Love the Fuller/Norwell signings. They would be my top 2 FA targets if they're available.

Not a huge fan of Martin but wouldn't be opposed to it.

Would be super nervous making the Davenport pick. I just feel we need an impact starter out of the gate. Davenport may have crazy potential but it's all potential. Too raw for top 10 pick IMO.

I'd love Washington but I think he goes earlier than that. I'd go in another direction in the 3rd but that's me.

Interior OL guys showing up today and making themselves some money.

Obviously not the most important thing but Hernandez, Nelson and Braden Smith putting up big numbers on the bench.

#9 pick!

That coin flip was pretty big actually.

I think that gives us #11 pick in the 2nd round(goes to the Pats so they just dropped 2 spots) and #10 in the 3rd.

Huge coin toss win but I’m still kinda demoralized by our draft position. Feel like Fitzpatrick, Nelson, Barkley and Chubb are the safest players in this draft and we aren’t going to get any of them. Would just prefer a trade down to the middle of the first.

Who cares? We have our franchise qb and don't have to scrounge around for one like all the other peasant teams.

Yeah, it’s beautiful, but I love the top of this draft unlike I have since the draft with Peterson, Dareus, Miller, Green and Julio.

Genus, how concerned are you that Ronald Jones’ size is comparable to Jamaal Charles who is basically the only player to ever be a good every down back in the NFL at 6’0 200lbs?

When asked to give a percentage of Robinson’s chances to return, O’Halloran continued with the following statements:

“I’ll say 100 percent no tag. And for the Jaguars [to re-sign him] in 2018, I’m going to go below 50 percent.”
https://jaguarswire.usatoday.com/201...act-talks/amp/

Let’s go. Let’s get this guy signed. First legit #1 receiver we’d have had since Owens.

He came in at 5'11 205. Would love him to be bigger to ensure he can take the pounding but 0 concern. Dude is a perfect fit for our scheme and I'll take that over the measurables. Most guys bulk up in the NFL but the vision, balance you can't work on.

Well my earlier mock definitely won't be happening.

Landry really helped himself like I thought he would. Numbers close to Vic Beasley…

James Daniels may have cemented himself as the #1 Center in this class especially with Billy Price getting hurt. Dude would be PERFECT for us.

Even Lorenzo Carter killed it out there so he likely isn't around for our 3rd round picks.

And Ward is showing up at the combine as I thought he would.

One thing is for sure we could go in a million different directions with #9.

I do know the guys I don't want us to draft at that pick are Marcus Davenport and Tremaine Edmunds. IMO both of those guys are just too raw and more project picks than we need right now. Size and athletic ability is off the charts for both but I'd rather take more sure things.

Would love to sign Allen Robinson.

Who do yall prefer Malcolm Butler or Trumaine Johnson? My only real problem is the Rams decided to move on from Johnson and take on an even bigger potential contract with Marcus Peters along with the head case Peters brings. Why not just keep Johnson?

Also what about Nigel Bradham? Seems like he'd be a good fit at inside LB. He might command more money then what we'd like to commit.

Can you imagine if we got:

Allen Robinson
Buter or Johnson or Fuller
Andrew Norwell

I have the corners ranked Fuller > Johnson > Butler

I'd prefer Johnson in terms of talent but I think he costs the most. I don't mind Butler but as someone who watches a lot of Pats games I'd be nervous paying him a big contract.

Robinson Fuller/Johnson and Norwell would be epic. Find a way to get James Daniels or Frank Ragnow in the draft and the OL is special. Add one of the premier RBs in this class and offense is going to do some damage.

I just started listening to the Kevin Jones podcast (enjoying the first two episodes) and he made a point about not signing Robinson that I’ll use to cope when he inevitably goes to Chicago or Carolina.

He said we need to worry more about the offensive line and pass rush this offseason. We aren’t good on either and those are extremely more important than an outside threat.

And we still have Garçon coming back and Goodwin and Taylor could be even better next season. He wants us to get a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd (he likes James Washington like me) and get another guy in FA that’s not as good as AR15. Someone like Willy Snead or Amendola.

Because next offseason there’s a pretty loaded FA class of receivers. Landry, Nelson, Tate, OBJ, Evans, Cooks, Diggs, Benjamin and Rishard Matthews.

He thinks we should try to trade for Ansah or Mercilus.

I agree with that. I'd love to have Allen Robinson and no question he makes us a better offense but he's not a must have.

A starting level corner in FA is a must have.

Pass rush unfortunately will be the tough ask. Chubb will be gone.

Right now at 9 I'm eyeing two guys Denzel Ward and Harold Landry with Roquan Smith behind them.

I think Ward is the better player but Landry IMO is the better fit for what we need though Ward even if he has to play slot would give us a suddenly dangerous secondary.

CB: Witherspoon
FS: Ward/Colbert
SS: Tartt
CB: Johnson/Fuller
Nickel: D Ward

Of course then we're trying to figure out the pass rush situation so it's a toss up.

Gun to my head right now and I think I'm going Landry though I'd love to trade down and see if we can still land him later. I think he's a Vic Beasley type player who may not be as dominant but can still do some really good things in this defense. I'd see him play SAM in base and come down as Leo on obvious pass rush downs…same as Beasley plays for Atlanta. Someone like Armstead or Blair can play Leo in base when we're looking for more well rounded or run heavy matchups.

My post combine day 1/2 mock

1. Harold Landry
2. Frank Ragnow
3a. Quenton Meeks

WR is near the bottom of my need list. I would love AR though but I wont be too disappointed if we don't sign him. Right now I'd put CB, Edge, interior OL, LB as my positions of need ahead of WR. Heck right now we even need a RB ahead of WR.

Well, I think we clearly need receiver help. Not necessarily AR15 but we sure as hell need some depth. We can’t be trotting out Louis Murphy and Aldrick Robinson and Bourne on empty sets.

Regarding NFL Cap of $177M, does not include rollover amounts. Cap for @Browns is $236M, @49ers is $233M . And their minimum spending is based on $177M. Gaming the system.

WTF? So the cap for this year is 177m then we add in the unsused money from last year. Hell ya! I expect to see some FA signings.
