I've been very disappointed by phone pictures. They seem to apply all manner of horribly pre-baked effects like HDR and fake bokeh into pictures which make them utterly unusable imo.
This seems to be what the iphone gen want in 2022 though.

have seen some very impressive landscape and astro photography from phones

Dont think the RF version is worth the extra 7-800 dollars, so I went for the EF. I already have the adapter for my R5. Stoked

heard it's doggo pic time
Canon R5 w/ Canon EF 200mm F2
it was super bright so all of these are 1/8000sec which would've made for awesome pics if we had more snow on the ground that could've gotten flung up

I feel like I need to learn more about aperture, because with wildlife I'm always shooting at the widest to get in that light. Here at the dog park with multiple subjects, F2 was just brutal. Tons of pictures out of focus, or pictures where the image would be better if I had more portions of subject(s) in focus.
But in my head I think "I paid $5K for F2, I'm gonna use all F2" lol

two super enticing lenses.
was looking at picking up a C5 or C6 Vette earlier this week, but might have to grab a 1200mm instead

nobody's been posting in awhile!
went to Yellowstone / Grand Tetons for 2 weeks. was hoping to get a pic of the Milky Way over the Tetons, but didn't do nearly enough research to realize that is a seasonal picture and we are not in season
still got this panorama of a random field in Wyoming though
it looks to me like it has green streaks of the Northern Lights in it. I asked on a forum and was told it's possible, because on May 27th 2022 the Northern Lights were the most prominent in the United States that they've been all year
after this little entry I went and bought a Canon EOS Ra and am probably going to buy a Sigma Art 14mm f1.8 and a Rokinon 24mm f1.4 and learn some more astro
