That's correct. Richburg was a top flight center in his 2nd season. Question is where we're going to play him. I think he's much better C than Kilgore so hopefully he gets up to speed quickly and pushes Kilgore to the bench or guard.

It's a good signing that at worst brings in great depth at the position.

I'm going to trust Kyle Shanahan in terms of offensive FA targets. Would've loved to have Robinson here but it's not an offseason ruiner non signing.

The draft is really where we need to kill it. Still holding out hope we can sign Aaron Colvin to really add some juice to the corner position.

All you have to do is look at the Jags game for optimism.

WRs - Goodwin, Taylor, Bourne, Robinson, Louis Murphy
TEs - Kittle(gimpy), Celek(gimpy), Paulsen
OL - Staley, Tomlinson, Kilgore, Fusco, Turnstiles I mean Beadles.

Most points scored on that D by any team last year.

Improving the OL alone will be a huge help. Just getting rid of Beadles will do just that. Improving on Kilgore, Tomlinson and Fusco will as well.

Getting Garcon back will be huge and I'm sure we'll add someone else through the draft and maybe FA as well.

Improving our OL will also improve the running game. Robinson would've been nice but he chased the money. Let's hope it turns into a great move with us passing as we add a stud in the draft to develop.

Honestly if we're going receiving threat I'd look at TE early in the draft and look to find a WR later.

I don’t think he went for the money. He signed quickly and I thought he was gonna be getting a 4 year 60 mil type contract. He had already put a Cubs jersey in his Instagram so I think he liked them before he knew he wasn’t getting tagged.

He played wel for sure and we were at home. I would just like a buffer…actual play makers. If we are going to try to be the Patriots, good luck. I would like to have some top talent to coach too.

Aaron Colvin signing with the Texans. That's really the first non signing that really bummed me out. I thought he was a great fit and not a position Jimmy G and Shanahan can improve.

Getting Jimmy was a fuking gift. Makes it so much easier to not get the big names in free agency.

Yeah thats why I'm not even mad about some of these free agents the 49ers haven't been able to snag.

All we have to do is have a draft like this and we're good to go

Round 1 Pick 11 (MIA): Smith, Roquan, ILB/OLB, Georgia (A)
Round 2 Pick 29 (JAX): Sutton, Courtland, WR, Southern Methodist (A)
Round 3 Pick 6: Michel, Sony, RB, Georgia (A+)
Round 3 Pick 9 (MIA): Smith, Braden, OG, Auburn (A-)
Round 3 Pick 18 (DET): Washington, James, WR, Oklahoma State (A)
Round 3 Pick 29 (JAX): Hurst, Hayden, TE, South Carolina (A+)
Round 4 Pick 11 (MIA): Meeks, Quenton, CB, Stanford (A+)
Round 4 Pick 13 (WASH): Sweat, Josh, OLB, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 28: Stewart, MJ, CB, North Carolina (A)
Round 5 Pick 6: Burnett, Deontay, WR, Southern California (A)
Round 5 Pick 12 (WASH): Wadley, Akrum, RB, Iowa (A-)
Round 6 Pick 10: Mataafa, Hercules, OLB, Washington State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 9: Tate, Auden, WR, Florida State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 22: Facyson, Brandon, CB, Virginia Tech (A+)

….my daily draft boner

It's funny running the sim on that site (first-pick) either they hate drafting WRs or this draft class really has great WR talent outside of the first. They terribly underrate the WRs in their simulations. I couldn't help myself from drafting those WRs and really would've drafted a few more.

The funny thing was I wasn't planning on trading down like crazy when it started cuz i wanted to keep it realistic lol…that went out the window soon as I saw Courtland Sutton available at our 2nd round pick.

No way McKinnon will end up as our starting RB. We will retreat back to Hyde before that happens.

I don’t want to spend money on Lewis. Let’s get Hyde back…or Morris and pray Penny happens? Then blame Genus if it doesn’t work out?

He wouldn't be starter. He'd be depth. I'd be shocked if we didn't draft a kid in this RB class. McKinnon is a 3rd down back.

I'd be ok with Jordy on a 1 year deal. I want Hyde back. Some people out there saying John Lynch really likes Derrius Guice, I don't know much about him any thoughts on that?

Not mad we haven't got big splash names, we don't need em or need to overpay tbh. We'll get to where we want to be.

I dont understand that at all. I think Hyde is a good back and runs hard every play. Sure he may not be the perfect fit but he gets it done.

This staff also historically dont value backs that high. Im very curious to see what they do now that they dont have a true starter.

I don't get the McKinnon contract…i hope once the details come out it will look much better but right now I don't know wtf we were smoking.

Ok player and gives us a lot of options when he's on the field but that deal…

4 years $30 million for McKinnon??? Granted I’ve always liked him as a rb, I just don’t see how he’s worth that much. Supposedly makes him the 4th highest paid rb in the league. I do remember his sparq score having him test in the like 95-98% range, so he’s a phenomenal athlete.

I'm a bit bummed we lost Hyde but hopefully McKinnon pans out. He better at that price. Interesting he was teammates with Breida in college and obviously highly athletic and Shanahan likes that and his pass catching ability I am sure. I'll trust the brass with this move for now hope it works out well.

McKinnon signing is a little over priced. I think he's a good, versatile back, but not worth the price tag.

I think 49ers fans should be happy with this. He isn't the best runner is very versatile and fast as hell. His biggest asset is that he can catch. Jimmy G. can check down to the guy whenever he is in trouble. Also the dude can return.

I'm not saying it was a bad signing, I was saying they paid too much for McKinnon. If you're a 49ers fan you should be excited. They're putting pieces together to make a very competitive team.

Can you confidently say we have fixed any of our plentiful issues?

MAYBE we fixed the center position. We still have holes at both guard positions, receiving depth, all linebacker positions (not knowing wtf is going to happen with Foster), cornerback, pass rusher and starting running back.

This could all work out in the end but this is a team ready to win now with a ton of cap space and John Lynch is acting like he has Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck and it’ll all work itself out regardless of the talent around them.

I mean, they did go 5-0 with Jimmy at QB with less talent than the team has now. I'm sure they'll make more splashes in free agency and pick up players in the draft to address the other needs.
