just checked out the Rein 3.0 specs. That is absolute sex as far as weapon torches go. $400….going to hope to find it on sale. Looks like it comes with a pressure pad and batt charger though

I have the OG reign on a rifle and don't see a reason to take it off. I also have the owl I sold, a surefire scout 600 (overrated), and a modlite.
anyone have experience with the REIN OWL? Looks like its on its final batch run but looks fantastic on paper. This batch puts out 1200 Lum and 80,000 candela. All 1 piece unit so no wires. Also have double the waterproof (up to 200ft) It's very tempting design at $20 cheaper
nvm….looks like all their colors are OOS.

Of all I'd recommend a Rein. Any Rein.

Indoors if you are using baseboard or ceiling bounce to light up the room, it matters not. But indoors if you want to see the entire other room and the whole wall to wall direct, you'd want wider beam.
What’s your guys opinion on the high candela but less “flood” meaning the light is so focused on the target, which is good, but it gives less information on your surroundings.

yea but I don't think they had the OWL anyway. Reached out and I just got a reply that said when they do runs they sell out quick. So that doesnt make it sound like they aren' t making them anymore. I mean…..if something sells out that quick logic says…..keep making them. There is demand
You won't be upset with a Rein. It's worth the extra cost. If you really must wait for a sale, Black Friday is about four months away. If they don't do a sale before then, I'm sure they'll have a good BF deal.

Cloud Defensive has sales with really good deals a few times per year. They even through in free gifts. I would expect Labor Day to be their next big sale.

With such high candela of the rein 3.0, any worries of being inside with it and being too bright bouncing off walls or anything if using as HD gun?

The law is confusing but that creates an NFA item, technically a felony according to the law unless you register it. Do with that info whatever you want.

Holy chit at the judge in Oregon ruling that only guns in common use for self defense- not hunting or target shooting- are protected by the 2A

I just lost self control and purchased one the first day they were available. Wasn't expecting to see them in stock in person on day one.

I am a big fan of CD's switches. I see some people trash them but those same people are also running other lights, so I'm not sure how much experience they actually have with the CD switch. I haven't looked into it enough because I don't care, but I'd be curious what people complain about with the switches. I used to only run SF for my lights but now I'm fully on board with CD. Their EPL (pistol light) will break the internet when it's finally released.

Another question for you guys.
My first/only rifle build was carbine length gas system. It’s been great, but now that I’m more knowledgeable about it, a mid length upper has started to be more appealing.
Worth buying another upper to have as a new setup?

But if you plan to go suppressed it only makes sense to get a shorter quality upper.

For one thing, wall bouncing, lumens is what will get you back, not candela
But you want all of both of them. Just don't be a dumbass and shine the light at a white wall four feet in front of you and look at it in the dark

I’ve never assembled a AR. Which was why years ago I bought a PSA kit as I had a lower already. It’s basically one of these AR build for dummies.
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-...istol-kit.html
What tools do I need to assemble it? I did some googling but most were complete builds. The upper is already assembled.
I’ll do more research but any help is appreciated.

And if you're spending the money and going through the tape for an SBR, you can do better than a ****ing psa come on bro

That brings up a question. What makes that kit a SBR?
Any specific tools? I have most common garage tools.

Not that SBR's should be regulated more than a regular title 1 firearm to begin with (not that regular title 1 firearms should be as regulated as they are, either), but, we've all known the braced pistol thing was really just an end-around the SBR law anyway.
Again, not that the SBR restrictions should exist, because they shouldn't. But, they do.
