Yea. Bye Foster….stupid PoS.
Now Smith is top priority.
Lynch said he was confident that he wouldn’t be suspended I thought? I wonder where he was getting his information from….absolutely have to cut Foster now.

What's hard for me to understand is how it took this long to charge him if the evidence was obvious. I'm beyond angry right now. I can't stand guys who hit women…what they describe is beyond ridiculous and I don't know how I could ever root for this dude.
There better be some kind of crazy logic on why we didn't cut him right away. We obviously knew this was coming…can't believe they didn't get the full story from the cops before now.
Foster has completely ruined this offseason for me.

Yea. He has definitely been the one black cloud around the offseason. Of course it is so much worse because of his potential but if he is indeed as big a PoS as the report states, I’d rather go without him.
Safe to assume even if he doesn’t get cut, he’s gone 6 games at minimum.

Either
A. They knew what was going to come out with the allegations and felt it wasn't true or somehow someway Foster had a legit explanation that didn't make him come off like a flaming douche who beat his GF
or
B. They weren't aware of what allegations were going to come out
I don't know what I find harder to believe.
Obviously the team was very excited about getting him and his play on the field(when healthy) was very impressive…but how do you keep that winning culture and show other players they can't do chit like this if you don't cut him?
This whole time I thought "maybe it's one of those situations where the gf started chit and he was trying his best to get her out of the house so it wouldn't escalate"
…well dragging her by her hair, punching her face 8-10 times and blowing out her ear drum is pretty fuking violent. Unless she straight up did that to herself to try to frame him no other excuse could warrant keeping him around.
Really sucks.

I know the guy is, at the least, very poorly educated or I perceive him to be from his actions (combine) and way he speaks. I also know he lives a life and job full of aggression…but damn, how you let women rile you up enough to beat them is beyond me. Even moreso when you do not have children involved and can easy bag another money chasing woman.

Either way it sounds like the team is supporting him…not sure if I agree with that even though I'm not going to lie I don't want to see that talent leave and go to another team.
If we're lucky this can be his Ray Lewis moment….wake up Reuben.

Brock was likely going to be cut anyways. The team took the opportunity to send a message but everyone knows what the message really is and it's not just the 49ers. Every team out there(well maybe not the Pats but I'm sure they are as well) will cut a guy they don't love if he fuks up.
They knew when they came in Brock probably wasn't a great fit for them…what a great time for him to fuk up like that and give them the easy job of cutting him and looking great in the process.
Fast forward to Reuben Foster
How many stories have been out there about the whole front office being in love with the kid? The team LOVES him. He was one of their first first round picks and someone they had graded as the #3 overall player. We were basically a Chicago Bears taking Solomon Thomas instead of Trubisky away from drafting Foster with #3 overall.
I don't know what Foster told the team about what happened but it's obvious he's THEIR guy. They certainly don't want to cut him unless their hands are tied.
If there is any video of what happened, he's gone. They're going to let this play out and hope for the best. They're hoping this is his Ray Lewis moment. He beats the charges…comes back to have a monster career with no further issues and everyone forgets what happened.
But this is the NFL and great players who are loved by the franchise leadership will always get their day in court and will get their due process.
I'm just really disappointed in this kid. He doesn't strike me as a bad guy but he's not very bright and has really poor self control. I really hope there's more to this story but damn those reports of what he did are heinous.

I think cutting players immediately after a charge is a bad idea. These guys are often targets and cutting a player after a charge just gives more ammo to people looking to screw the player over. Not saying this applies to this case but it does happen a lot.
But yeah Rueben is a dummy no matter if he is guilty or not. Unless he cleans his life up and beats these charges he wont set foot on the field again.

I am for being optimistic…but he’s a bad guy. He’s in trouble nonstop. If we get Smith, I’m for just cutting bait and moving on. He seems to love the game and although his interviews were cringeworthy due to his English, he came off as a team guy. That said, it sends a clear message top guys are held to a different standard of behavior.
He is made of paper meche too…and a MLB. He’s a beast, but if he’s cut, it’s a clear message considering what we had to do to get him and the guy cutting him, drafted him.
There is zero chance he is “innocent”. I find it very hard to believe punching and busting eardrums is completely fabricated. Some form of domestic abuse took place.
As far as a Rat Lewis comparison, Ray is actually an intelligent guy, or likes to hold himself in that regard. He wants to be looked up to. Foster is a typical nuisance on society that plays football which allows him an opportunity to not be who I no doubt believe he would be….a guy out robbing.
This happens to a Seahawks player and I think everyone would have a different approach. It’s embarassing and sucks to have this around the offseason. Talk radio, other franchises fans laughing at how this is transpiring. I don’t want another Aldon, McDonald, culliver locker room.

And other franchises including Seattle shouldn't be saying squat.
They drafted Frank Clark after he had a nice domestic assault on his record. Foster at least had a clean record before this chit. Tyreek Hill…another assault.
I don't know if Foster is a bad guy but he's definitely not all there and his decision making is awful.
2 arrests in 2 months is ridiculous. And let's be honest if he wasn't a very good player or a first round pick he'd be gone but in the NFL if you're a good player you're getting second chances.

Really starting to fall in love with DJ Moore. Idk how these receivers will fall, but I really want James Washington or Moore in the 2nd, even if we have to trade up a bit.
Hopefully Foster gets his sh*t together. But I doubt it.

Granted I think Roquan Smith is a terrific prospect on his own and even if Foster wasn't arrested at all I'd have him as my #2 prospect because he is that good.
However I personally think Landry makes too much sense and it's just so much harder to find double digit type edge rushers that I think Landry can be for us. Guys like Smith and Foster may not be readily available either but I look around and I see guys like Bobby Wagner, Navarro Bowman, Lavonte David, Deion Jones…etc going in the 2nd+ rounds and doing a great job for their teams.
I'm still holding out hope about Foster that the DA is totally throwing chit out there and what he claimed happened isn't even close to being true because if it is and even if Foster beats the charges and comes back on the team he's going to be awfully difficult to support.
However we need to kill this draft and the Foster and Joe Williams experiment need to be a big learning point for both John and Kyle.
Don't fall in love with a prospect and throw away all common sense. If you take a guy off your board - keep him off. If a guy has shown really poor decision making or inability to keep himself out of trouble…don't assume you can keep him from being stupid.
Draft talented player who have a good head on their shoulder. If they want to gamble on talented but sketchy prospects then do it outside the first 3 rounds.

Looks like Foster won't participate in workouts or whatever they have starting tomorrow. Hate that this talented player is the sole dark cloud over the seemingly sunny days ahead for this team. Talk about terrible timing. I just want this situation to go away rather than linger, I almost think it would just be best to cut him and cut the losses now. Sucks cause you know what he's capable of but let Aldon Smith be a lesson, this kid seems like he's on a similar path of stupidity.

If Foster wasn't a high draft pick or very good he would've been gone from maybe even just the weed arrest let alone the DV charges.
I just can't grasp my head around this situation. Something about it is beyond crazy.
You have to figure the reason the 49ers didn't cut him at this point is because the information they gathered was very different than from what the DA threw out there.
Lots of stuff puzzles me about this situation. If Foster actually did hit her 8-10 times even with a ruptured ear drum it sounds like the damage doesn't line up to the amount of punches from a pro football player.
I understand Foster and his legal team can't say their side of the story publicly but I'm very curious their side of it. We know women can do some crazy chit in the heat of the moment…but we've also seen that Foster doesn't have the best self control.
I'm afraid even the middle ground would be a form of DV charge and it sounds like this DA wants to make an example of Foster.
Definitely sucks that this will drag out over a long period of time and it will be a real test assuming we don't just end up cutting Foster after the draft if we think we've addressed the position enough for Foster to stay clean without the football structure he's used to.
I agree though…this whole situation with him has put a giant black cloud over the team in an offseason with so many exciting things. I just hope the draft goes great and one way or another the situation with Foster gets squared away.
I'd love for this to be a Ray Lewis moment for him but if I had to put money on it…I see more Aldon Smith

Just a little over a week away…my mock going off someone else's big board to be honest
9. Harold Landry
59. Braden Smith
70. Josey Jewell
74. Quenton Meeks
128. Kemoko Turay
143. Marcell Ateman
184. Akrum Wadley
223. Holton Hill
240. Tony Adams
To me #9 is all about Landry or Roquan Smith. Honestly if we go in another direction without trading down I'm going to be bummed out.

And as far as Ward and Fitzpatrick, they aren’t really needs but I think they’re both gonna be really good so I wouldn’t be upset with them.

And if he does drop I'd still take Landry though I certainly wouldn't hate the pick if he was the one.
But I wouldn't hate Ward(he's my #3 guy after Landry and Roquan) and I wouldn't hate Fitzpatrick though I do think his best fit is at safety which would put a talented player on the bench so i'd rather go another direction.

74. Quenton Meeks
128. Kemoko Turay

To me #9 is all about Landry or Roquan Smith. Honestly if we go in another direction without trading down I'm going to be bummed out.

i'm actually hoping we can trade down now. I'm thinking we can still find a guy to provide pressure, while grabbing some guys who will be starters 1-2 yrs from now.
Feel like we need to prepare for the future of not having Staley, and possibly not paying big for TBrown. Idk that we have anyone behind them that can be legit starters.
Say we trade down, and end up with 2 later 1sts, or swap firsts, and pick up another 2nd and 3rd. Grab a pass rusher, i feel like Landry or Davenport might slide. I like the idea of grabbing a OT prospect early after that 1st pick(like we did when we drafted Staley). Kolton Miller might be there in the late 1st/early 2nd?

Kolton Miller will be super overdrafted because this OT class sucks and I'd hate having us be one of the teams overdrafting him or another OT in this class.

Sounds like we may have 5 primetime games this year. That's awesome. But also a lot of pressure for a team that still has a lot of holes on it. Hopefully we're ready.
I'm also going to have to strongly consider not buying the Sunday Ticket this year. I HATE not being able to watch the niners live but it's not cheap and because I don't have a dish I have to stream it through my xbox and it frequently lags and at times becomes all pixelated and really takes away from the experience of watching the game.
With 5 games potentially being available…maybe I just bite the bullet and watch them the next day since I always end up buying the game rewind anyways. This way I can watch it with no commercials but there's no fuking way I'll be able to avoid not seeing the box scores so it's somewhat anti climactic.
I'll have to see what the schedule looks like this evening and see if it makes sense. I hate wasting money and really only watching the niner games. Now that I'm married and got chit to do I rarely get to sit back and just watch every game on Sunday…if I do it's usually cuz my wife is already pissed at me about something else lol.

And damn…sounds like we get a real test out of the gate with the Vikings.
I was hoping we get an easy game to keep the Jimmy G win streak going and get that mystique in other teams' heads. Not saying we have no chance but that's going to be a tough tough game.
