what is holding me back is that it looks sick right after being done….but hows it going to look after a few months of use. Then what do you do when it needs redone. Not sanding all those nooks and crannys.

I actually don't mind that.

I think the more it gets worn in the better it looks - as long as it doesn't start chipping away like a 80's Ford.

The nooks and crannies won't wear much. It's always the corners. When I touch up, I don't generally sand anything, I just hit it with more paint.

The wear doesn't really bother me. I wouldn't paint a work of art blued/walnut gun, but I don't buy stainless/synthetic firearms to look pretty (or ARs). I get guys not wanting to paint theirs, just saying it doesn't matter to me.

Aluma-Hyde holds up well, but used enough you will get the at battle-worn look.

Here are some of what I don't to my rifles. Don't care if cringe, in the desert, FDE rules.

Haven't been miscing much lately, but figured I'd share that I was lucky enough to find a mint-condish Accuracy International AX338 on Gunbroker a few months ago. total bill was a little less than $7k for the weapon, and I've been handloading lapua brass and N570 powder (RIP H1000 & Retumbo) for a little over $4.5 a round. There's an OSS ELR can waiting in NFA jail right now too dying to get on the thing.

Picked up 2 OWLS with the upgraded 80k candela head. I swear on me mum if I get the purple…

Didn’t want the wires of rein 3.0. OWL is probably the most heavy duty WL around. Will work great on a shorty.

It's supposed to be a great one piece light.

I decided not to get the OWL because placement is limited compared to a light with a cable. Using the torrent mount to push the light out even farther decreases the suppressor shadow (not a concern for those without a can). Not really possible with the OWL. The Rein switch cable management is excellent. Very tidy and tight.

You could get a mlok to pic adapter to add more flexibility but yea I hear you. this model is 30k more candela than the old OWLS so I couldn’t pass it up. Basically getting rein 3.0 performance in an all-in-one unit. I also just don’t want any wires period on my gun. OWL is essentially QD everything to replace/repair in the field and also tool-less. Just all around checked the boxes for me over a rein 3.0.

Had to get 2. If I don’t like em I won’t have a hard time selling.

Not sure if there's any TX folks here, but any good sources for hog hunting in TX? I'm in DFW. Barely any public land here, which sucks hard.

Maybe will post pics if I download a new image hosting platform…. picked up a Ruger American in 300blk and a Ruger 10/22 with a heavy barrel. Waiting to pick the .22 up. Both with threaded barrels, so we'll see what happens there.

Probably not.

But…possible?

That's over 3.5 months away if what you want is 20% off now and you can swing it, I'd just get it. Even if there is something better it can't be by that much

Damn fast shipping. Really stoked about these. Really didn’t want the purple and they hooked it up. Love both of these moonshine colorways. Both FDE color switches which I was hoping to get. Not nearly as big or heavy as I thought they would be either.

interdasting piece. Bit expensive and borderline too short of a barrel for 556. (at least for me I'd want something longer that 11.5" in 556).

So you get out of the SBR stamp but you still need to NFA it bc the can on it…..

I swear last question on the rein 3.0. Lol

Was literally about to hit order, and Their social media hinting at dropping a micro version in just a few weeks.

I would imagine a micro would make runtime or candela/lumen output decrease right?

I’ve got a 16 inch carbine length gas system so rail is somewhat’sh short.

Worth waiting for a smaller version at the expense of performance?
