Why is Goldman a boomer stock? In this thread it seems like if a stock is not a meme or tech it’s labeled boomer.

True this. Particularly if you are in it just for a trade. If you are long term, then dollar cost average. If you are planning to buy 100 shares or more, sell puts and earn premium to lower your entry cost.

Most of everything I'm buying selling are long term holds so no difference in taxes

In fact one year because all my profits were long term I didn't have to pay any taxes on a substantial amount of gainz

Just meant i view it as a long term hold with low risk but typically small gains.

Here’s a 20 year chart, the run up since november is pretty unprecedented.

fuk brahs, my water heater just went out today

fixed a leak in my minisplit AC units last month, $1500

going to replace my water heater, expecting $1000-1500

so much for homeownership being a good investment, fuk me brahs, I should've just put the money into VOO and remained renting (srs)…

At least I get half the mortgage back from renting out a room but still, not sure if its even worth it since I'll end up losing any gains once I sell the house anyways (surely the market will crash sometime next year + realtor commission)

Das it

Nice fooken work m8

Also its a good thing you gotta pay more in taxes cuz ya made more. Although this makes me think and this may be completely retarded but I wonder if retail investors could possibly get a lower tax rate down the line since we're technically at a disadvantage…???

Took a 100 share position in UWMC @ 10.00

Why? Feel like it's going to catch the WSB hype cycle soonish it's kind of teetering around in popularity outside of the top shilled stocks right now.

Also the company could end up being a good long hold regardless

Basically same process that got me into CLOV at under 9. Lets see what happens.

To reiterate on this I don't even think there would be a difference in taxes constantly buying and selling anyways it simply depends on the amount of time you're holding the position before selling and which bracket you fall under. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. (Also assuming you're not paying commission fees just lol if you do)

Depending on the amount you make, state you live in, how much you make per year and many other variables.

Tax rates for short-term gains are 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35%, and 37%. Short-term gains are for assets held for one year or less - this includes short term stock holdings and short term collectibles.Apr 18, 2021
^ Never heard of anything under 20% for short term capital gains

for long term capital gains tax percentage
Long-term capital gains tax is a tax applied to assets held for more than a year. The long-term capital gains tax rates are 0 percent, 15 percent and 20 percent, depending on your income. These rates are typically much lower than the ordinary income tax rate.Apr 30, 2021

I have no clue, luckily haven't had to replace one yet. I know there's deductions for some energy efficient improvements.

royal bank is on the lower end ~3.5 percent.

imo they might be on peak for this year.

however dividend is dividend

Something like this is probably coming anyways, limiting excess water heating is one milestone on IEA's roadmap to Net Zero by 2050

Canada is getting close to legalizing single game sports betting. 3rd reading was suppose to be last night. Now its Tuesday and from there its looking like the week of the 25th it will be officially signed into law.

SCR, FUNFF among others should benefit from it. How much is yet to be determined but should at least create some very nice swing trades on the hype alone.

On the waterheater discussion you have 2 efficient options

Tankless aka on demand has no storage just runs when you need hot water.

Hybrid (heatpump) same tech as a heatpump condensing unit creates heat the same way.

Both can provide tax incentives (check with your utilities what programs they have right now and do research on what feds are offering)

I still think AMD Radeon GPUs will be able to provide solid competition for them, just waiting for that next gen launch from AMD

GPUs in general are a great technology though and NVDA is obviously the leader (but I wouldn't discount their competitors too much)
