My rig is pretty old. I sold it to a friend a few years ago, but just bought it back off him so that I could play a little Overwatch/LoL. It still runs fine. And I don't think I'll be upgrading it before it runs its course because I only play lightweight mobas/fps[ul]

    For work, I just ordered a ThinkPad x1c5. I'm thinking about replacing my Dell 27''s with a single usb-c ultrawide since the x1c5 has two ports. Would look clean af[ul][li] i7-7500u[/li]

    That keyboard, btw, is the best typing experience i've ever had. Thing is such a joy to use. It's a RealForce 87u. Still looking for a wireless mouse that rivals the abyssus in terms of sensor + how light the thing is. I claw grip my mice. So that eliminates 99% of the options out there in the market

    That has to be the smallest mouse pad I have ever seen. You must run some crazy high dpi.

    i'm fanatical about my mouse's cable. I've tried bungees, but I find they always create some form of tension or resistance. so the reason this haphazard ass configuration works is because the first couple of critical inches of the wire are contorted into an arc to eliminate drag, but the rest of the cable is supported by the desk, and not hanging anywhere that would even add the tiniest amount of gravitational pull. I take my micro serious, it's why I can always hit d1 on LoL no matter how many times I quit over the years. it's all about how one with your mouse you are. dat dere flow state.

    hahah, thanks bro. I highly recommend the map, I bought it off some company called 'conquest maps', superb quality. the plant is just ikea, but agreed, they always spice up a setup

    i have my mouse cord looking like a question mark so i have flexibility in movement without any noticeable tug. it then goes through my monitor's cable holder in the back and then to the right to my computer.

    anyways, how is the topre keyboard? that is probably my next keyboard. i love the spring+rubber dome action. i heard it's really loud though when the keys spring back up?

    I want to enter the world of PC gaming but I have no idea where to start.

    First of all, is it really worth going for a pre-built gaming PC or should I just build my own? I'm not worried about building it because I have built PCs in the past, but I'm pretty lazy and just want something ready shipped to my door.

    I just want to play on 1440P on a 21" monitor, will this be sustainable for the years to come? I want a rig that will last me many years and can handle playing any games on max settings.

    As far as building my own goes, I've been taking a look at this one.

    Same as with any computer: Applications. You start with the types and quality of games you intend to play. Take that list then build your system around components capable of achieving that level of computing performance.

    24" is small. 27" is decent. >30" is the real deal.

    Yea but that is just a one time purchase for the main setup. Only thing that you'll ever need to change out is the GPU block if you upgrade. I sold my 1080 + 1080 EKWB and EKBP. Took a tad longer to sell the waterblock but I eventually sold it. Got $450 for my 1080 and $115 for my WB+BP.

    Yeah I was just givin' you ****. I agree the G10's aren't super aesthetic.. If Corsair would put out a kit for the 1080Ti, or if EVGA would get the Hybrid kits in stock, I'd probably go that route. I've used those Hybrid kits before and they were quite effective, and looked pretty nice. Tubes all over the place though.. I can see the appeal of a custom loop.. overall less tubing, better cooling, far better aesthetics, etc.

    I think ultimately if I were going to do a custom loop, I'd want to wait until I get whatever CPU I go with next. My 5930k is still a nice, capable processor, but I'd like to move to 8 or even 10 cores (will see what Intel's response is to Ryzen, or if AMD makes a 40 PCI Express lane Ryzen variant). Once I'm settled on a CPU that'll last me at least a few years (I upgrade my CPU/platform far less often than my GPU's), then it'll make more sense to do a full custom loop.

    been wanting to overhaul my whole **** ass gpu as posted a few pages ago. but as i'm reading since i'm not in a rush, that this Vega gpu is coming out which will drop the prices. any of you guys know around which quarter will they be released?

    and if i should get a 1070 or 1080ti, is the difference in performance a lot?
    1 more question, if i'm gonna dabble in video editing and stuff.. should i get the ryzen instead? i read that it has more cores and threads or something. (still a noob)

    There is a big jump in performance but you have to consider the 1080Ti is over double the price of the 1070.

    Also depends what resolution he plays at, a 1080Ti is a ****ing waste at 1080p.
