Funny how times flies.
In other news, talk about immersive gaming. If I were in the market, this would be one of the only times I'd consider a pair or three curved displays. Still impressive though. ^^

4th?
Need some help regarding 4k and 60hz. Recently we purchased a 4k tv for my grandparents, and it is a re brand of some chitty Chinese OEM, but it is decent for the price. They have a very old desktop with an E8400?, so we put in a Gt 710 but it has given us nothing but trouble; I suspect the card is the culprit. Will probably RMA the card.
Anyway, I put together a cheap HTPC for them : G4560, GB H270M-DS3H, and 8GB DDR4. I could have wen't cheaper on the motherboard, but I needed the display port to try and get 4k 60hz. As far as I know, the tv supports 4k 60hz at 4:2:0, and the pc hardware should have no problem either.
As the tv has no display port, I am using a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 cable. However, no matter what I have tried, I can't choose above 30hz. The intel graphics center does not allow anything above 30hz for 4k, and the same for windows display adapter settings. Could this be due to the default and unchangeable 32bpc?
Trying to force a 4k 60hz through the intel control panel only results in a message saying that it exceeds the bandwidth.
While the cable is DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 18 GBPS, it for some reason says up to 30hz. I'm going to purchase a Club 3D active adapter and try that, as well as try my own pc to determine the culprit.
Any suggestions?
IL, have you seen this channel before? Pretty cool to see games running at such resolutions, but realistically its unfeasible due to micro stuttering or poor sli scaling.

Its price point was low enough that it made no sense buying a 1080p tv as at this price they are all manufactured by some OEM with sub par QC.

So what gives? They have a Kaby Lake with HD 610, which should support 4K with DP 1.2 at 60hz. Could it be the gigabyte motherboard? Maybe they are lying about it's capabilities?

Start with a budget. Then special any needs, i.e. battery life, light weight, 1080p, brand, etc. Then include any special applications that it will need to run. The more specific you are, the better the recommendations will be.

Flashed the bios yesterday, didn't seem to help.
Could it be due to the display port of the devices?
I can't find this anywhere online but do the Nvidia cards like the 970 have a DP++ connector? Maybe that is the issue. If the motherboard only has standard DP, then the passive adapter cable I am using may not be able to transmit 60hz. I am not sure on this.

It may be a few dollars above your budget but when you get that close it pays to save a little longer for a better machine.
If you're really intrepid you might want to also budget for an additional/backup battery. Something I suggest when purchasing ANY portable item.

It's unlike, however, that this is your issue. Rather, I'd look into the HDMI or the cable for any funky restrictions due to this adaption.

You could get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Radeon-128-Bi...rds=amd+r7+250
Pretty cheap and supports DP 1.2. I couldn't seem to find anything much cheaper with either DP 1.2 or HDMI 2.0. They were all limited to VGA, DVI and HDMI 1.4b.
Or you could get this RX 460 which is a bit more modern and has HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2:
https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Rade...eywords=rx+460
A bit more expensive but not bad.

Need some advice on a monitor mount.
I can't find one thats in stock to mount 3 27inch monitors. Everything is either 2 monitors, only mounts 3 24inch monitors, or is out of stock.
Any suggestions guys?
Edit:
Some command station pics, gotta figure out how I plan to deal with the cable management from the TV without putting a hole in my wall. Definitely improved on the PC cable management though with the new desk I bought that has some areas to route cables, and a USB hub built into the desk.
Spoiler!

Set up my new rig and had a couple brahs over that were mirin.
It utilizes 3 (not 2 like some other plebs) Tachyonic antitelephones to surpass Bremermann's limit and can reach 10^91 nonlinear Hyper-CISC FLOPS which can be further accelerated by Quantum optimizations. Storage is a bit of a bottleneck since being close to the Bekenstein bound the disk already distorts gravity as it is.
Powerful enough to simulate a universe in real-time in which every living organism is playing Crysis (not on Ultra tho). I use it for surfing the net and Minecraft.
