Can you really blame them? This guy looked like he knew how to fuking fight and he was filled with adrenaline. The guy that tried to stop it almost got the same special treatment. The only way the average person could have done anything would have been with a chair to the skull.

You take care of them until they leave the hospital? Do you know how to read their CT scans and MRIs and understand the pathology occurring after a beating like this or what they can expect in the near future/next few years/rest of their life? Are do you only know how they appear while their inpatient?
They spend a decent amount of time inpatient, and I would say about 50-60% of our TBI patients up up going home once the fog clears. I have worked at an acute rehab that did TBi/neurorestorative care, and it is amazing the progress bad TBI patients can make. Again, the majority end up going home.

That said, there is a percentage that are never the same again. Will never forget one guy who was so bad he would just scream at anyone who came nearby, and had not an ounce of cognition left. Basically going to spend the rest of his life in a **** bed (netted sides, zips closed for his safety and the staffs' safety)
