MISC Blood Drive (GTFIH to save lives and get reps)

Blood donation is immensely important and life-saving. I work at a level 1 trauma center and every day we have patients that get transfused red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Blood donation is fairly easy, takes 15-30 minutes, and many of the donation centers offer gift cards as a thank you. The MISC is a big enough place we could legitimately make a difference with regular blood donation, as there are always nationwide shortages.

Will rep everyone ITT who donates and posts a pic. If mods would like to sweeten the pot or other MISCers want to create a pool I'd be happy to keep that updated as well.

Add my poverty reps to the pool.

I have been donating blood and more recently platelets for 5 or 6 years and my next donation will be my 100th. Going to call and book my next appointment now.

Definitely a very good cause. I try to donate every 2 months when the waiting period is up. Last few times I went I got free tickets to the Laugh Factory and movie passes. Will post once I get to donate again in late January

I don't weigh enough to donate blood. But I'm hoping by the end of the year after one or two bulk/cut cycles I'll be able to! If you guys can, I would recommend looking for a BioLife, Octapharma, or Biomat center near by (or other facilities) to donate plasma too. A lot of life saving and life sustaining treatments are plasma derivatives (thing's like factor VIII for hemophilia, C1-inhibitors for hereditary angioedema, treatments for autoimmune disorders, etc.).

Edit: add me to rep list
