That's be Mr Bourbon. I also picked some up and it surprised a lot of the guys at the bachelor party last weekend. Great recommendation.

Dropped into this place the other night. Just some restaurant and bar in Austin, TX. I was happy they had a nice whiskey selection with good prices on a lot of it. And it was 25% off all whiskey, bourbon, and Scotch that day too. 2oz pours.

Awww yeah bruhs. Glad you like it. That's the house bottle over here for when I'm drinking whiskey cokes, old fashioned. Sloop - yeah it's the same mashbill as Buffalo Trace, they just don't age it as long or as well (worse locations in the warehouse etc), but the juice that goes into the barrel is the exact same.

It's pretty good in a Revolver or a Paper Plane too, though I usually make those with Bulleit.

$17 for a 1.75l down here including a 2 liter of Coke. Insane value for the money.

Just found out that WhiskeyFest is a thing, and it hits Chicago every year which is near me. Anyone ever been to a big convention/event like this? Is it worth the almost $300 price tag, or would I be better off setting aside cash to taste on my own at a whiskey bar?

Picked up a bottle of this over the weekend, and boy is it good!

For being 120 proof it's not nearly as hot as one would imagine.

Tons of burnt cinnamon, honey, cloves. Outstanding!

Jameson is a bottle I normally always keep around. There's some Irish whiskeys that I prefer just as much if not more, but at $20 a bottle here Jameson is the best buy imo.

Will be interested in your review when you try it. Looking at the picture confirms I've NEVER seen that stuff on the shelf. Must have been thinking of a different Elijah Craig bottling.

I prefer Bushmills personally but a good bottle of Irish is always worth keeping on the shelf. Jameson's a classic, enjoy.

Been a long time since I'd had Jameson, but I bought a bottle this year too. Grabbed the Caskmates Stout Edition for something different and am not regretting it.

Mirin. Especially at that price. Easily double the price here as any limited release always has a mark up. Have you had previous versions of ECBP? I have a B517 that I'm thinking of trading for some other batches of ECBP.

Noticed the other day the local Target finally put the security cables around the Blanton's boxes, people kept opening each box to look at which stopper they'd be getting.

This Elijah Craig BP is absolutely sensational, it's everything I had hoped for. Tons of burnt cinnamon, some cloves, there's a vanillasomethinghanging around.... it's freaking delicious as hell with just enough heat to make it interesting but not overbearing.

10/10

I still cant believe I was lucky enough to find one local at only 50 bucks. Im only going to sip on this for special occasions and savor this bottle for a while.
Dropped into this place the other night. Just some restaurant and bar in Austin, TX. I was happy they had a nice whiskey selection with good prices on a lot of it. And it was 25% off all whiskey, bourbon, and Scotch that day too. 2oz pours.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/6FZObnc.jpg[/g]
Saw Nikka pure malt on that menu. I swear nikka is half perfume vendor, half whisky distiller. The first time i was exposed to this whisky i didn't even want to drink my little 1 ounce tester. I was smitten by the cinnamon, nutmeg, honey notes. I haven't been able to find it since i've been back from over seas, but just a word of advice to all whisky drinkers. If you ever spot this bottle in your local boozhound shop. You pick it up, hand the cashier a check and say "write down any amount you want and i will pay it." absolute goat i've ever tasted. Check the reviews (https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskie...y/#reviewslist)

Had a couple over for a bourbon tasting last night. Gave them 6 small samples in plastic shot glasses. Had them taste it neat, wait a few seconds, then add a couple drops of ice water to the drink and try again giving each an overall score out of 100.…

The options were:
Buffalo Trace
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof
Benchmark
Four Roses Small Batch
Makers 46
Knob Creek Single Barrel

The dude gave the highest score of 97 to Knob Creek followed by Buffalo Trace.

His wife loved Four Roses, and Benchmark.

It's a lot to handle, especially for novices. I had them try it last in the lineup as to not burn their faces off @ 131 proof

The Winn Dixie near me is going OUT OF BUSINESS, and their liquor store keeps cranking up the discounts to clear shelves. Currently 25% off and going to 35% next week.

Beer/wine are gone, vodka is basically all gone (just like melon flavor and chit left) and most of the rums, but there's still some mighty fine bourbons and scotches on the shelf. Going to keep an eye on it this week - I don't NEED anything but prices are going to get stupid cheap in a hurry, can maybe score some good bottles for a song.

Picked up Teeling Irish Whiskey. This is an Irish that's aged 6 months in rum casks - very interesting and different, lots of banana and spice notes come through from the rum cask finishing. 92 proof too. Keep an eye out for this - it's well worth the $40 (but even better if you can score it on closeout for $30)

I've gotta score a bottle of that Knob Creek Single Barrel next time I see it. Before I discovered Buffalo Trace regular Knob was my go-to, still a great whiskey.

For sure, I bet you'll like it. It's basically a cask strength bourbon at a more reasonable price. It DOES NOT feel like 120 Proof at all. I love the color, too. Super dark and mysterious

I just picked this up yesterday.
Single Malts are good, but sometimes I just prefer Blended Scotch.
