Literally the simplest way to put it. This is exactly the point.

Also, family is the answer. While all you guys lament the kids that have everything because of their parents wealth, realize that they are financially setting them up for success. That's what you should be doing.

I also watched a very telling video the other day talking about the idiocy of the middle class when it comes to buying a home. They reference studies showing that wealth generation was much more apparent in people that rented out their homes or condos, instead of selling them and using it for their next house. Utilizing assets and passive income, and compounding wealth generation with constant financial and career growth, is a much better path to financial success. Too many people are caught up in things and goods, WITH NO VALUE. As pointed out, using loans to accrue debt with depreciating assets is asinine. Patience is a much better tool for success than people give credit for.

Fukking lmao... Boyo you spent an entire day in this thread defending the 1%. You have a mighty case of Stockholm syndrome my friend. You are like that slave who tells the master that the other slaves are planning an uprising because you personally are happy with where you're at and think other people should not stir the pot lest your own fate hang in the balance.

You're so hip and cool, comparing the middle class to slaves now?

Also, you actually think there's going to be an uprising? Where did all those Occupy Wall Street protests get you?

And I could not give a single fuk.

I am making more than I ever have this year and my earnings are only projected to go up. I started with very little, was never on government handouts and I had no connections with the higer ups to land jobs.

The 1% have a chit ton of more money than me still? Why would I care? It's not affecting me in the slightest and they aren't stealing anything from me. Hopefully I can join them one day.

No, I don't want people literally dying on the streets or starving to death, but most western countries already have a large enough welfare net to prevent that from happening for the most part. I feel no obligation or moral duty to campaign for massive tax hikes to finance more comfortable lifestyles for 80 IQ, lazy tards. Get rid of the corporate corruption and structural barriers to entry for a more fair merit based system, sure, but I do not agree with getting rid of winners and losers to simply make everyone mediocre so you can say "look we have equality!"

At the end of the day life is unfair and some people are just more smart, talented and hard-working than others. If you have an above average IQ, a good work ethic and make the right decisions there is zero reason for you to remain in poverty for the long-run.

So destroy an incentive to work beyond a certain point? You can'tforcepeople to be charitable. If you want communism, there's plenty of places currently practicing it.

I was using a metaphor to explain your character as an individual, not stating that there is an actual uprising coming and that you would have anything to do with stopping it. I am doing my best to explain that you are a cuck of capitalism but you can't seem to consider that as a possibility. I give up. Continue on your quest of aiming to convince many unhappy people who have been screwed over by the system that it's their fault and there is no better alternative. I think you'll actually be really successful at changing opinions if you just keep trying. Afterall this is America where any person can do or be anything they want if they just work hard enough at it. You got this brah.

Who exactly are you referring to when you say "many unhappy people who have been screwed over by the system"?

Who are they, and how did the system screw them, specifically?

Thirty to forty years ago people didn't have the latest brand new phones, 4k televisions and even microwaves. All common things found in households that are, by some people's standards, "poor".

In Nordic countries there is an approx 45% flat tax rate, a significant public sector, and large welfare state.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_model

They aren't communist countries, they are left-wing capitalist.

Regarding what motivates people to work...

I highly recommend the books (if you haven't read it), Drive By Daniel Pink, The Entreprenurial State By Mariana Mazzucato and/or googling about behavioural economics experiments. The Austrian economics belief "profit motive drives innovation" is really outdated, based on experiments and economic history.

Daniel Pink summarizes behaviour economics findings...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6XAPnuFjJc

Marianna Mazzucato summarizes her debunking the myth that the private sector drives innovation, and says that it's a symbiotic relationship between the private and public sector which has driven innovation in the U.S.

Did the "system" screw them over, or did they screw themselves?

Ah yes, the million dollar question.

We both know the answer Dave, and it’s not the system. This thread is nothing more than lazy people crying because they want what they don’t want to work for.

But look at Norway, a country with 5 million people.....

I'm still curious about this magical, evil "system."

The only magical evil system I know about is socialism, and some of the people in this country are doing a good job tricking people into believing it’s the answer to their problems.

Are you saying that believe that $200 /month in Thailand would afford you the sane quality of shelter (actual structure, utilities, neighbors, etc.) as $1k /month in the U.S.? Because that's not how that works.
