Kind of hoping we make a trade tomorrow for some edge rusher help. Im shocked we got rid to Attochou and Pita.

Also need help at safety and RB.

Yea I agree, but I honestly felt like there was ever a mismatch. The guy never plays ever. We miss on backs.

i agree, its rly not the end of the world. Breida has a similar skillset. We'll still have a nice combo with Alf.

I knew we wouldn't have a real chance at Mack, but man I wish he was in red and gold.

The mck contract will go down as the worst for this regime. Head scratcher when it happened and he will make Jordan reed look like a beacon of stability.

Wish the money was available elsewhere for sure

He doesn't though which is why Kyle opted to let him go and sign McKinnon. I'll trust his opinion on who hits his offense. I'm sure we can both agree he knows offense.

How? We had more money than we could spend this year. The structure was super front loaded. IIRC it's essentially an easy deal to get out of after this year. It sucks if he never plays for us and gets that money but injuries happen. Certainly not a deal that handicaps the franchise in any sort of way long term.

It was the wager on a player that has completely one full season (last year, contract year) in his career. We are left with Breida and Morris. Yea, I understand it will not cripple us but many people were like wtf at the numbers outside of that…and I know RBs are going up, but that should be in consideration of who the player is.

It was a boom/bust pick. Think this makes it very likely it will be a bust pick. Also, let’s get someone who is reliable…one thing is certain, he is not.

Man that really sucks that McKinnon tore his ACL. I really wanted to see what he could in a full season as a starter/featured back. Some day he’ll get his chance.

Where are you getting he only played in one full season? He's missed 6 games in 4 years. Only 1 game in his last 3 years.

This is a total fluke thing. I understand thinking he's not big enough to last as a full time starter but come on…Hyde has missed a lot more time in his NFL career and he's supposed to be a big bruising back.

You’re correct. I guess I assumed his usage were half years….surely cannot count 2015 as a complete year. Total touches add to about 2 years of a typical back.

We are in a very tough spot with him now. It would be silly to bank on him being a contributor in the future…wish Coleman was an option but freeman has his own health issues

Finally we are in the regular season! I cannot wait until Sunday. I honestly do not know what to expect. All I hope is to see improvements on both sides of the ball, better defense, and of course having the offense move the ball and put up some points. If that happens I think I will be happy. A win is even better, but I just hope that it is a close game.

Lots of unknowns with this team still.

How will the new OL play together, especially against a DOMINANT unit on the Vikings.
How will the new secondary play with no real pass rush in front of them
How will Richard Sherman look

Coaching wise it's two guys really fuking good at what they do going against each other. Shanahan vs Zimmer. I have to say I'm glad the NFL rules favor the offense but of course their offense is pretty darn talented as well.

Really I think it's strength on strength and weakness on weakness.

Our offense vs their defense and their OL vs our pass rush.

It will be tough to win this game.

On the road
Week 1 where things are always crazy
#1 defense last year who arguably got better this year.
Talented offense adding a better QB.

In order for us to win our OL and DL have to play great.
OL must keep Jimmy clean and give him time to make plays and allow some sort of a running threat to set up playaction.
DL must keep Cook in check and try to force Cousins into making mistakes throwing the ball.
Special teams will be important. We'll need some big plays out there.
Turnovers…can't have any and need to keep penalties to minimum.

We have a chance to win but it's a small chance and we have little room for error. I'm just excited for some football that counts. It will be a great test for this team to see where we are. Would feel much better about this game if Foster was out there. Our LBers will be picked on heavily IMO.

Here's my prediction: JG will continue to show poise and a quick release against a lot of early pressure. Offense will be able to move the ball and put some points up against a VERY good Vikings defense but will not be able to keep pace with Cousins, Cook, Thielin, Diggs, and Rudolph. I expect at least 2 turnovers from the offense(an INT and a fumble) which will prob be the difference. I expect to show we're a young team, still susceptible to mistakes, but moving in the right direction.

It'll prob be close for a half, then Vikings will pull away with a 10+ point win. I wouldn't be mad at all if this is how it played out. Vikings are legit SB contenders.

One thing I think a lot of people are overlooking in this game is the Vikings offensive line. A line that already wasn’t good last year (Keenum was 3rd most pressured QB in NFL). They lost both of their guards and now their center will be out this Sunday with injuries.

We should be able to get pressure, we just need our guys to finish with sacks. I think this will be an important game for Thomas. Every report saying he’s looking better this year, he looked good in preseason, now go out and prove it Week 1 against a suspect offensive line.

If the pressure is there we know Cousins will throw picks. I’m looking for Sherman to have an interception on Sunday.

Scared about our line though. Adding Sheldon Richardson to that defensive line is unfair. If we can just find a way to get some positive yards in the run game I like our chances. Jimmy G is gonna ball out if Morris and Breida are picking up 4-5 yards a pop. If we can’t run I think we lose a low scoring game.

Dude I’ve had a bunch of accounts in here. Long ago, dating back to 2009, I was LocalDealer. Then TranceofPeace (I think that was my account when I used to argue with everyone in here, mostly genus, about Harbaugh). Any of the new accounts you’ve seen in here for the last couple of years has been me.

I’ve been avoiding talking about it but it doesn’t even matter. Mods look for a new account to check if it’s a multi. I literally don’t post anything controversial and I keep getting banned. All because my original account was banned for “mod disrespect” lol.

It’s whatever. I’ll just keep making new accounts to talk in here.

I don't think we win Sunday but I do think it will be close. The Vikings are legit SB contenders and we are playing them in their house.

We need to get pressure on Cousins to keep it close. If he has time to throw those WRs will eventually get open.

I think your number 1 priority will be stopping the run game. If the vikings get Cook going say goodnight…

But like the guy who makes a new account every week said, the vikings OL is suspect right now. Elflein and Easton being out hurts.

Keeping Cook in check is a must. But that's one thing this defense did well last year though no Foster hurts bad.

You guys should win but I would've loved to see you at SF. Going on the road week 1 is a tough ask, crowd noise could lead to mistakes and miscommunication on the line.

Only thing about our defense that has me worried is no Foster. Malcolm Smith looks to be playing but hasn't in a year and isn't great but good, Warner is in his first game ever Coyle is Coyle. We need a pass rush for sure which still worried me in preseason but TBH I think is gonna show out this year. We're coming for Cousins and if we can make him make mistakes we can win this game. If not Diggs and co. gonna have good games.

Not having McKinnon hurts but Jimmy gonna Jimmy and Shanny gonna Shanny. Vikes D is ****ing good tho, at least last year. Not sure how bad Rhodes hammy is but maybe we can take advantage of him not being 100%. All in all I'm fukin pumped for a real game. And win or lose we should see a solid team out there.

lol i'd love for that to keep going but he'll lose eventually. But as I said before I would've like an easier game week 1 to help him keep that streak going and keep the momentum from last year keep going.

NFL kind of set us up here with the tough matchup against a SB contender but if we can somehow pull off the upset it would go a long way. First chunk of this season is pretty brutal in general. Playing in KC is never easy. Chargers are legit this year. Lions shouldn't be THAT tough but Patricia could get them in shape real quick. Who knows what's up with Arizona but then Packers and Rams…if we are .500 after those games I'm happy.
