Everything that happened today can be fixed.

I was expecting a loss so its not a big deal to me. We had some crucial drops and turnovers but still was in the game against the best defense in the league.

We will be ok.

Very true. Some key drops and some bad throws. That pick six was bad. Turned out the receivers didn’t know the correct route. Jimmy expected him somewhere else.

Injuries didn’t help either. Defense played ok. Just got to get dialed in.

Jimmy G gonna eat a chit sandwich this week. That’s fine. A lot of mistakes but that was one of the best teams in the league. I’m not too worried yet. If we take care of business next week we’ll be fine.

One of those games…I hate to see moral victories at this point but considering the situation, the injuries, the turnovers to only lose by 8 is a moral victory.

The worst pick for me was the last one but only because it's in clutch time but it happens to every QB. You try to make a play with little time left and you may not remember to look off an all pro safety.

He'll rebound.

Wow, ****ing Rodgers what a comeback. All in all not too mad about the loss today, because of who we faced and also there were some positives to take, and the fact many things were self inflicted and correctable. Along with that Seattle and AZ lost and hope Raiders can beat Rams tomorrow so we are all on even terms division wise. Looking forward to next week, gotta get healthy and regroup and get to 1-1 at the home opener. Looking into tickets I may have to go to a game even though Levi's bugs the **** out of me and I said I'd never go.

This might've been the toughest game on their schedule, and they were in it till the end. Not bad considering all the injuries. Just need to clean up on turnovers and penalties and they have a shot at the playoffs. They really need a RB that can catch though.

I agree. I don't think many of us thought we would win even if we were hoping for it.

But as sh*tty as it is to look for moral vicotiries, i'll take it.

If you told me we'd lose the turnover battle 4 to 1 and Jimmy wouldn't throw for 60% I'd think we'd lose by at least 10.
If you told me that and said we'd lose Person…and then Garnett and be without Goodwin most of the game, I'd think we'd get routed.

Now moral victories don't get trophies and they don't actually get you wins but it still shows this team SHOULD be in every game this year if they can stay healthy and reduce their mistakes.

Curious to hear the thoughts of Viking fans. Surprised jman isn't out here gloating.

Jimmy definitely had his first bad game and it was the type of game I expected last year versus the Jags. Obviously the drops didn't help, the protection issues didn't help and the lack of a consistent running game didn't help but I still saw enough from him to show me the contract is not a waste.

The first pick was on Bourne.
Second pick was Jimmy though I saw a replay of the route Pettis ran and he may have stumbled a bit trying to fake out Rhoades so it could've threw off the timing. Couldn't believe Rhoades pulled that pick in…just how it goes in the NFL. Kyle Fuller drops a pass that looked like it was intended for him and Rhoades manages to snag that one nearly with one arm.

Third pick was probably the worst one just because it was a poor decision. I have a hard time blaming QBs in those situations just because time is of the essence and they have to make plays or game is over anyways but still..I would've liked him to not throw into double/triple coverage but he'll learn. Didn't help that he couldn't step into the throw as the DLman was coming in on him due to McGlinchey having to play RG.

They'll definitely have to rebound against the Lions because the schedule is not very forgiving moving forward. Hate to say must win game at this point…but it's a must win.

Also…it wasn't pretty but have to give respect to our defense. Obviously the Vikings OL isn't anything to be impressed by so that probably helped but very encouraging game by some.

Warner and Foster will be fun to watch at LB.

Can't believe my boy Sully fell for that. EVERYONE knew they weren't snapping the ball, just inexcusable. Can't have that. Though technically he did get back in time but never should've given the refs an excuse. You know what they're looking for…who knows if Jimmy gets it done there but maybe if there's more time on the clock he's not forcing that ball. Certainly have better field position in the comeback attempt. Just dumb.

Having said that I don't like that Armstead is getting more playing time than Thomas. There were several plays I was looking for Thomas and didn't see him out there. Not sure wtf we're doing but Buckner and Thomas are our best DLman. Unless they're hurt or tired they need to be out there. Armstead is not a better player.

Secondary played well overall. A couple of bad plays including Williams losing Thielen. Witherspoon giving up the TD to Diggs wasn't good but he had great coverage…just one of those perfect throw beats great coverage. And what a fuking grab by Diggs!

Anyways…I hope this makes the team hungry and upset. They had a chance to win that game and really send a message they were for real. They can either grow and learn from it or continue playing for moral victories. I'm hoping they learn from it and take it out on the rest of the teams they face.

Haven't heard anything official yet but Garnett is saying he should be fine and will be back. Hopefully we get an update soon.

Also we are working out 2 players today on the dline?

Need Garnett back and Goodwin back.

It gave Pettis more playing time and he made plays but Jimmy clearly has a connection with Quise and Pettis doesn't provide the deep threat that Goodwin does.

Curious to see how the Lions play today. I think their OL will be much better than Vikings so I'm not sure how our defense will fair against them.

A little disappointed in our safety play. Tartt and Colbert will need to do better but until we get a consistent pass rush it's goign to make things tough for the back part of the D.

Thankfully this next draft class has some legit pass rush threats. Hopefully someone falls to us.

Goodwin is a must! Without the deep threat we are limited.

It was nice seeing 3 sacks on the day, but the pass rush still wasn't great. Cousins had all day….

I think this game will wake everyone up. First real game, need to get rid of the cobwebs.

Not football related.

But this weekend my son scored 4 goals in his soccer game. We had no clue where that came from. He literally just took the ball at will and went straight down field. He is the shortest and slowest kid on his team.

My daughter scored as well. But that best part of her game was that one of the coaches called it quits with about 3 minutes left. He literally said we are done. We were not trying to run the scored or anything but we are pretty stacked. Great day for coaching!

I re read it and they are LBs but will work as edge rushers? And yes I think we ran ran better with Garnett.

I did like that McGlinchey went in and played right guard. That was cool because he never played in there before.

I thought going from Person to Garnett was actually a blessing…until he got hurt too. I thought Garnett played much better in preseason. Hope he can play with that toe injury.

At practice tonight for my daughters team the parents told us that are moving up next year to coach the girls for U-10 and that we have no choice and that they will do whatever it takes. That made my day. I guess we are doing something right and that they dont mind our yelling and screaming during the games. I am sure we are known as the aggressive coaches. Pretty sad to see some teams dont even line up in a basic position. At this age they end up bunching up anyways but they need to start learning things, especially if they move up.

Moving on to Detroit…

I hope this isn't a trap game. I always prefer teams coming off wins and we kind of find ourselves in a no win situation as far as public opinion.

We win and it will be "Lions suck, look what the Jets did to them at their house"
We lose and all hell will break lose and bye bye any playoff hopes anyone had for this season.

But really this is a game we SHOULD win.

Home game, Lions coming across the country on a short week.

Jets ran all over their defense, we must have Breida and Morris have good games. Now Patricia knows how to scheme defense but I would have to think we have an advantage there Kyle vs Patricia.

Hopefully we can get one of the guards back for this game so we're not forced to play McGlinchey there. Hopefully Goodwin is back as well, he just adds an extra layer to the offense. No real deep threat without him out there and defenses pay attention to that.

I'm still worried about our pass rush and as bad as Stafford looked if you give him time he can burn you. I guess he may be banged up a bit so we'll have to keep an eye on him. I can't imagine there's any way he's not playing but Ziggy Ansah got hurt as well, if he's missing time it could help us out with our injury situation at RG.

Don’t see it as a trap game. I see it as a win big or a huge disappointment game. If this game is close I think we’re still a year away from being a playoff team.

Detroit looked absolutely awful. Patricia looked like a clown at the helm. With all the rumors in the off-season of the team not believing in him, and then looking like that on MNF at home, this team has dumpster fire written all over it.

We need a huge showing from the offense this week.

And I’ll be at the game so I’ll lose my sh*t if we can’t pull this one out.

Nice to see Pettis looking good. He’s already proven more than AJ Jenkins lol. Not saying much but we have a bad track record with drafting receivers so I’m really rooting for him.

My only concern with him is that he always looks hurt when he falls…hopefully he stays healthy because he looks like he's tailor made for this offense.

Just kind of sucks thinking back to what could've been with that game…

Pettis pulls in the ball in the endzone for the TD
Kittle actually catches the long pass from Jimmy - possible TD if the safety can't get to him or a 50 yard gain at least.
Garcon drop in the endzone
Morris not fumbling at the 1.
Jimmy gets the ball down a little more to Kittle in the end zone.

damn….

Speaking of Garcon, I know some of those were tough spots for him with defenders coming in on him but he's always been super reliable in those situations. Felt like he had at least 3 balls he should've caught that he let drop.

Jimmy must've been a little pissed. Garcon dropping stuff he normally doesn't, then Kittle misses a huge play and the play right after it Bourne runs the wrong route and it's a pick 6.

So Coyle is IR, the injury list at practice is pretty big too. We gotta stay healthy. Is Malcolm Smith ever gonna play? Signed another LB cause we need some for this week before Ruben is back. Would be nice to have Ruben, Fred, and Malcolm all available in KC.

Lmao I wouldn’t come in to gloat, not my style. I respect the sanctity of an official thread. With that being said, **** you genus I wish I would have made a sig bet with you this time.

My thoughts:

-Your run defense was phenomenal, which was surprising considering no Foster
-Not having Elflein really hurt us, but you guys lost a couple guards too
-Jimmy had a great play on that TD but it should have been an Everson Griffen sack if he would have finished the play
-Diggs and Thielen dominated, but I think Sherman can still play.
-Tartt made a few plays but wasn’t perfect. I liked him coming out of the draft.
-Sendejo is the new Kam Chancellor
-Cousins was pretty damn good for his debut. A bit too conservative in the 2nd half but that TD to Diggs was an $84 million dollar throw
-Buckner is coming around, yeah?
-George Kittle was wide open all day, gave me flashbacks of the NFCCG

Now go beat the chit out of the Lions

lol I wasn't expecting a win but I'd probably still take you up on it for the hell of it.

Cousins played well, that throw to Diggs was the truth. I was hoping we could rush him more than we did but he did well.
Sendejo made some great plays and Harrison Smith is just unfair. That play where he got dropped and happens to make the tackle on I think Morris sucked as a 49ers fan but awesome as a football fan. Well deserved defensive player of the week in the NFC.
I thought Buckner would become a household name this year and he's on his way. But I'd kill for a Griffin or Hunter on our D.
I wish we didn't lose both RGs and Goodwin in the game, losing McKinnon clearly fuked us over but Goodwin going out allowed you guys to not worry about the deep game much and the OL shuffle with your front 4 was just brutal.
Would love to see you again this year but I'm still not sure this team will be there.

Definitely have to take care of Detroit Sunday but the rash of injuries we're dealing with is BS…as crazy as it is Sherman is the only healthy starting DB we have right now. And our linebackers are dropping like flies.

Hopefully they can get some guys healthy and stay that way. Vikings look real tough this year for sure.

If the 49ers can hang with the Vikings on the road like they just did they can win any game on the schedule. Jimmy G had a bad game but I saw some positives from him.

And yeah I forgot, Danielle Hunter was an absolute stud in this game. So happy they signed him long-term.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Patricia is a product of the system. I'm sure he's above average as a defensive coordinator, but that doesn't guarantee success as Head Coach…look at McDaniels in Denver vs now. It's a bit unfair to make those assumptions after Patricia's first game especially when Detroit wasn't a strong defense last year, but until I start seeing improvements, I'm not sold on him. All that being said, I think Jimmy G goes to work this week against Detroit and walks out with a W.

Also, it's pathetic all the Patriots fans wanting Jimmy G to fail so it makes Belichick look good for trading him. So much ignorance in that desire, but pathetic nonetheless. I still hope he succeeds.

I didn't know some Pats fans were like that. Belichick has accomplished so much in his career I don't think he needs any help looking good.
