lol I wasn't expecting a win but I'd probably still take you up on it for the hell of it.
Cousins played well, that throw to Diggs was the truth. I was hoping we could rush him more than we did but he did well.
Sendejo made some great plays and Harrison Smith is just unfair. That play where he got dropped and happens to make the tackle on I think Morris sucked as a 49ers fan but awesome as a football fan. Well deserved defensive player of the week in the NFC.
I thought Buckner would become a household name this year and he's on his way. But I'd kill for a Griffin or Hunter on our D.
I wish we didn't lose both RGs and Goodwin in the game, losing McKinnon clearly fuked us over but Goodwin going out allowed you guys to not worry about the deep game much and the OL shuffle with your front 4 was just brutal.
Would love to see you again this year but I'm still not sure this team will be there.
Definitely have to take care of Detroit Sunday but the rash of injuries we're dealing with is BS…as crazy as it is Sherman is the only healthy starting DB we have right now. And our linebackers are dropping like flies.
Hopefully they can get some guys healthy and stay that way. Vikings look real tough this year for sure.

I didn't know some Pats fans were like that. Belichick has accomplished so much in his career I don't think he needs any help looking good.
Although I will say I think it's more of a situation where they want it both ways. They want to see Jimmy succeed because he was a Patriot but also want to see him fail so they don't feel bad about having him go to another team.
I think that's fairly typical for fans. You don't want to see your team trade/cut a player and then watch him become a HOF or all pro player with another team.

Vikings are so damn good. They were a SB favorite last year and added Sheldon Richardson, Kirk Cousins and got Dalvin Cook back. I know their offensive line was beat up but they’re going to beat up on a lot of teams much worse this year. I think by week 10 we’ll look back and say that loss wasn’t bad and we’ll be ready for them again.

I really need my boy Sully to step it up. Not ready to throw in the towel on him but him getting less snaps than Armstead is concerning. Either on what he's showing coaches or what the coaches are thinking.
I think at the end of the day maybe his best position is also where Buckner plays and that can hurt his overall game but I still think he can be a better version of Michael Bennett for us but he has to start doing it consistently. I do think the hate he's getting is too much but I understand the frustration given how high he was drafted and the stupid ass penalty(Armstead jumped too though)
If Sully steps it up and proves he was worth the pick we're looking at a pretty great draft haul so far from this front office.
McGlinchey, Pettis and Warner were huge against the Vikings. I know McGlinchey had issues but it's a crazy ask for a guy in his first NFL start to play a position he never played vs one of the best DLines in the game.

Chit…Goodwin is officially out for Sunday.
I really thought they were just letting him rest up and he was going to play. Hopefully Pettis has a big game and it gives James his first game in the NFL on the active roster.
The chemistry that Jimmy had with Marquise was huge last year so playing with 2 rookies won't make things easy.

Interested to see Rodgers against the Vikings this week. I know it’s in Green Bay but I want to see if they make him look as bad as they did Jimmy.

Now if we really want a like to like comparison then see him lose Cobb and be on their 3rd string RG.

So no Goodwin Sunday, although Pettis starting and Richie James playing excites me to see them. I heard one of the better Lions lineman is out on the OL so hope that helps us get pressure. We should win this game big time but I'll take a W in any form at this point. Curious to watch KC play as well as they looked good in week 1 and we play them next week. Still so early to know who the real teams are at this point all around the league.

Game day! First home game as well. I hope for a win and would like to think the team comes out for redemption after last week.
Also what do guys think about josh Gordon? Do I think it would happen? No…. but why not.

Game day, excited af we gotta play with way less mistakes than last week and we're good. Looking to see more from Warner, Pettis, and excited to see Richie. I hope Malcolm Smith plays just cause we're so thin at LB. I know Buckner gonna play well again hope he sacks Staff a couple times. Curious to see how the makeshift OL does today, hoping well. Gotta get a win today, get to 1-1.
As far as Gordon goes i'd love to have him as a player but fuk its risky.

Not a great half IMO. Bad td given up on d, still missed tackles and lack of QB pressure. Jimmy taking hits, if nobody is open he's gotta get rid of it don't waste yards on big sacks and risk those hits he's taking.
I'm glad we're winning but could be playing much better.

The right side of the oline needs to block better. Not great seeing jimmy get hit. Need to get creative now with the ball
Defense needs more pressure. For the most part they are playing ok. Clean up some missed tackles and they will looks better.
Also can’t wait for foster to come back next week. Him and warner will be good.
Need Goodwin back as well. Need a speedy guy back out there to mess up the secondary. That would open a lot of other underneath options.

Very ugly win. The secondary and pass rush still sucks…
The offense is way out of sink. Not having Goodwin and our starting right guards does not help. Still to many dropped balls and missed tackles. As mentioned above he doesn’t look very confident right now. These first 4 games are brutal. Hopefully we get something going on offense soon to get him back up.

Not impressed by Jimmy at all today. We scored 30 points thanks to Shanny's play calling. Maybe not having Goodwin in there is affecting Jimmy?

I feel worse about our team after this win than I did after the loss last week.
We're gonna get smoked in KC. Mahomes is playing on another level and our D can't stop anyone or rush the passer. If Kyle and Jimmy can't figure out wtf is going on then we're in trouble.

Eyes the receiver the entire time. No idea whats going on with Jimmy. He needs to snap out of it or its going to be pick 6s every game.

We need Foster and Goodwin back, they both change their side of the ball dramatically. Sucks to not have McKinnon out there, but I think Shanny should start to trust Breida with some of that responsibility. The pass rush needs to be better still. Less missed tackles on D will be big. I think the coverage today was not a all the time type of thing but a bad day and watching a group that still needs maturing. That said Sherman has been awesome and I think his leadership and value off the field will help this defensive group (more so the secondary) grow.
Offensively I think we are seeing similar things with Jimmy. He is actually an immature starter, navigating a complex offensive system. At this point I think we are seeing him in a very high thinking version. He is figuring things out, some good and some bad, but the bad standing out more because of high expectations. Some of it is very bad to be honest but I don't think will be long term issues. Again, I think just having Goodwin back will change things dramatically, not only scheme wise but comfort wise. I think McKinnon loss is part of this as well scheme wise but like I said I think Shanny should let Breida do some of the same things he would have done with Jerick.
Overall today was good, but also ugly, but a win is a win. I think I'd prefer we win this way at this point of the season and rebuild. We need to know we're not invincible, know that there is much to work on, and know that mistakes will happen but we have to learn from them and get better. Going forward I expect more as Foster and Goodwin come back, regardless of the other issues we have. That said next week is a TOUGH matchup, facing a team that hot and in their home opener. But, it may be a perfect time for a young team to feel like they have a statement to make after this week. This team is far from finished in terms of what the potential could be, but at least we can hang in there with any team. I expect a tough game next week but not one that is unwinnable. They have to figure out a way to make Mahomes uncomfortable, or force some mistakes.

Gordon is a talent, as good as any WR in the league if he gets his sh*t together but that's a big IF so if you're taking a risk on him the reward is obvious but we're not going to carry 7 WRs so someone will get the ax.
Do we cut one of our promising young WRs? What if Gordon flakes out again and the guy we cut goes on to do great things?
If it's my choice which WR gets cut…i'm cutting Garcon only because he's older and likely off the team next year anyways. But the concern there is you're going from one of the most reliable(not as much this year but whatever) to one of the least reliable WRs in the game. It could send the wrong signal to the team.
But there's no question Gordon makes us way more dangerous. Him and Goodwin out there at the same time would be a nightmare for defenses. Both provide the threat up top and Gordon also has the size on top of it.

I agree… It is hard to trust him with his past, but if he can put that behind him then great.
I am more concerned with what is going on right now on the offense. I have to think something is up with Jimmy. It could have been just a bad game in general but he doesn't look like his normal self. I think without Goodwin the offense isn't the same. Then the oline isn't helping him much either. He does need to get the ball out quicker. It is almost like he doesn't trust everyone right now and he is really just trying to make plays and force it.

I don't want him running around out there too much, that's how QBs get hurt. But yesterday reminded me of Beathard. He SEEMED to hold the ball too long. The tape will tell whether he actually did or just made the smarter decision not to risk turning the ball over. I do have to wonder where his check downs were. I can't believe the Lions were playing us THAT well that nobody was getting open. Of course to be fair sometimes if a guy is open the QB may not be looking his way.
I'm not concerned with Jimmy's long term success. He's already shown enough that I trust he'll get through it but maybe our WR depth wasn't as good as we thought. Goodwin being out hurts but as good as he's gotten one guy shouldn't kill the whole offense.
Though I guess I'd rather Jimmy hold the ball and take the sack versus throwing picks. I really would've felt much better about his performance if not for that pick towards the end there where we got totally lucky. If you're throwing those out routes you better ****ing make sure there's no chance of it getting picked when you have the lead in that situation. Simply a throw he cannot make.
On defense…I don't even know where to start. Clearly we're a lot further away than I thought but hopefully Foster coming back helps some of those awful tackling and screens which pick up first downs.
The way we played yesterday KC will drop 50+ on us.

^ Very well put. I watched Kyle's inteview after the game. It sounds like (like last week) that on the pick 6 there was missed communication with the receivers. If that is really true then I cannot fully blame Jimmy. If anything he should have saw that and just threw the ball away.
This week we get Foster back, and hopefully some help with the oline. Not sure how serious Goodwin's injury is but we need him back. He opens the offense up a lot more.
