For sure, it's a good thing

Even the focus on meme stonks and such is probably a good thing in the end, people have been thrust into the stock market when they otherwise might not have paid attention to it any time soon

Are they actually learning anything though? They think they are fighting the good fight against the old evil rich white man. I wouldn't be surprised if most of these meme stock pumps and rug pulls are orchestrated by institutional algorithm trading.

True and if that happens it might turn people off from the market for a while, and I think that’s what the regulators worry about because they want as many participants as possible

Hopefully it ends up being a net gain

Carbonfibre has posted option flows that pretty much prove this is the case.

If you zoom out on the chart you will see a inverse head and shoulders pattern formed 2008-2009 and then gold exploded 100% to the upside. If you look from 2008 to present you will also see a huge cup and handle forming, this is a long term pattern if you know what I'm sayin. Where does the misc market experts think gold will be by end of year?

Gold is at ~$1810 now, this should be the bottom for the week but it could go as low as ~$1790.

Next week gold should hold a range of ~$1800-$1840, the following week it should retest $1800.

I expect a reversal in 3 weeks.

This is best case though, if it breaks ~$1800 it should stay in the $1,700s but the reversal may come a little later.

It’s 100% being controlled by tutes and hedge funds. But all these smooth brains think they’re actually hurting the big bad wolves (which manage their 401ks and other retirement investments) fukkin LOL

Anyone been keeping up with Gensler's comments about payment for order flow and stuff happening off exchange?

Just came across an article from the NYSE president about how meme stock prices might not accurately reflect true supply/demand because most of the trading is happening off exchange

https://www.reuters.com/article/usa-...-idUSL2N2NY32L

then we have Gensler's comments in this interview regarding updating the SEC's regulations for 2020 technology and what seems like distaste @ payment for order flow, noting that the US is one of the few places in the world where it's permitted

One can only imagine the chit happening behind the scenes

Yes, a lot of hedge fund trading is in dark pools. For amc I’ve said the current price isn’t probably an accurate reflection of its real price IMO or it’s actual short data.

Once all the kinks are sorted out and we can start utilizing blockchain, that will be the way.

Wall Street doesn’t want that though because then orders would be easily traceable and that would ruin their games they play.

I know little about blockchain, but I feel like the logistics of conducting 10's of billions of transactions over a 6.5 hour window, with instant processing and being able to adjust to limit and market orders is beyond "the kinks."

also, how would blockchain be any MORE traceable than what's currently being done?

fed is talking about talking about talking about raising rates and tapering purchases in 2023, possibly late 2022 instead of 2024

Actuallly . . . JPOW said they needed to retire the phrase "talking about talking about". Meaning, they will raise rates in all likelihood.

Blockchain 2.0 ideally would process those transactions much more efficiently.

Eliminating payment for order flow, the goal being to decrease manipulation(citadel securities) and ultimately enhance traceability.

Real time transparency on transactions in the market.

Almost instant transactions vs 2-3 days.

Could do 24/7 trading but I’m sure they wouldn’t allow that.

Wouldn’t happen any time soon, just a thought.

I picked up AMD and WMT on yesterday’s discount for Friday expiry. AMD announcement with google is pumping it. Probably have to time the dump today and get 300-400% returns. WMT idk wtf is going on but it’s been taking the dick. Only bought it since it’s lower than it was on the May correction and every technical indicator says it’s insanely oversold. No bad news to dump the price this much and had good sales report
