I think it's along the lines of you can have them . . . but can't ever really use them for anything other than target practice. Unless you are a LEO, because they deserve more 2A rights than the rest of us.

I love how ESPN has become the new CNN of the Sports World the past several years. But I turned it to SportsCenter this morning while getting dressed because I didn't want to watch the other news shows bashing Trump.

The story they ran with was the 'Rally for ****n Kaepernick' at the NFL headquarters. Gotta love how we rally to get statues removed and now we have people rallying to get a ******* QB that isn't any good to make a team. Our country is seriously screwed.

EDIT: LOL @ his name being censored. In before this is news.

Funny how JHP's in a handgun have been pigeon-holed as a weapon of mass destruction. Weren't they developed as a means to mitigate collateral damage due to over penetration?

When you're talking about handgun rounds, the wound channel between ball and JHP isn't radically different. A lot of people use ball for defense ammo because they want the additional penetration anyway.

In rounds like .380, yes. A lot of people use FMJ.

But for 9mm, etc? Yeah...no. Today's hollow points are damn good and offer significant advantages to stopping a threat over FMJ.

I hope someone does pick him up...he's getting off too easy. If i was his blind side guard/tackle i would turn my shoulders and let some 330 lb d-lineman break him in half.

I went with the 19 because the cap for mags in NJ is 15, so I won't have to mess with the mags at all. Same thing stopping me from getting a Shadow 2, I just can't be bothered messing with the mags. Keep in mind that the Dem candidate for the election this fall is against guns pretty much, so I wouldn't go crazy buying mags in case they make the cap smaller. Where do you shoot usually?

Hollow points are fine, just same rules for transport as firearms. Locked away in the trunk or whatever and you can only transport them to and from the range.

You can use them for home defense iirc

I don't think anybody intelligent chooses FMJ for defense if it's a .38spl/9x19 or larger.

The wound channel between a typical round nose full metal jacket and a modern quality JHP IS radically different. If you have a sufficient cartridge (.38spl/9x19 or larger) you can get that significantly wider JHP would channel and plenty of penetration, both.

I always thought that when you refer to a seller 'giving them away' that it was a figure of speech meaning that the items were super cheap...... but I could be wrong.

Of course. But then I qualified my statement with "almost" giving them away, just to be safe lol. I'm sure if I went back and looked for prices of those mags n 2013 or even before that, it would be illuminating

I don't agree with it, but I do know of people who prioritize an exit wound over internal damage. Whatever...the first rule of winning a gun fight is simply having a gun. To each his own.

Ike, I also prefer the 20 round box mags for .308 but those mags at Brownells have terrible reviews
http://www.brownells.com/magazines/r...prod71942.aspx

These ASC mags are stainless steel, have great reviews, and are only a little more at $11.99

Curious as to why prioritize an exit wound vs internal damage?

As it was explained to me; there's still going to be trauma and a wound channel from FMJ, but the exit wound is more devastating than the entry wound (true) and the potential for a bleed out. Also, simply greater penetration allowing the bullet to reach more vitals or have more inertia if met with bone/cartilage.

Like I said, it isn't my school of thought...but the guy who explained it to me was steadfast in his thinking. He was also pretty GD weird and ready to join a militia fight the government in a moment's notice, so take it as you may.

The exit wound theory people seem to just ignore the entire wound channel and all of that damage and bleeding doesn't even count in their minds, they can't SEE it, they can only see the 'two holes' lol

Got it, I would think a puncture and bullet spreading would cause enough bleeding and pain to stop the threat, wouldn't you?

just my opinion here - a pass through with an exit wound is a lot more useful when you're trying to blood track something

so unless we're playing "the most dangerous game" I'll take JHP and increased internal trauma for my self defense weapons

EOTech 552 - USED - Law Enforcement Trade In - SOLD AS IS - NO RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS. - $199

Not a bad deal if you like the 552. Granted, as-is, but as long as they aren't smashed to bits, it should work.

EDIT: DEAD DEAL
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.
