Nick knew we had to lose this one, throwing that ball away when he had the first down out of bounds right in front of him.

He paid the refs before the game too to make some of these terrible calls. He's got the 49ers future in mind.

Raiders win was huge. Now we’re picking 2 which might be almost as good as 1.

They’re the first team picking that might be looking at a QB. Teams could be looking to jump them or they might be willing to trade up to our spot. I’d be all for trading back and gathering picks. I also like Josh Allen plenty.

There’s also a legitimate possibility Arizona doesn’t take Bosa. Whether they don’t like his personality or they look at how bad their line is and want to take a LT for Rosen, I’m not too stressed about being 2. We could still easily get what we want.

Nothing set in stone yet. Jets losing vs GB sucked. We can lose to Rams and not get the 2nd pick.

Need TB and NYG to lose their games to secure the 2nd pick(Cards aren't winning in Seattle)

We need that 2nd pick too. Either Cards take Bosa and we hope someone wants Haskins bad enough for a big trade down or Arizona does the trade or pick someone else and we get Bosa.

Dropping to #3 would be a serious punch to the dick.

Yes. But i think Kirk would have done better under Shanny then he did in Minn. Still dodged an expensive bullet.

Agreed. Garoppolo showed he can play well with inferior talent. Kirk played behind a weak OL but I expected him to ball out with those weapons. Not sure what happens with him moving forward but even with the injury to Jimmy I feel much better about our QB situation with him on the roster.

Very curious how we approach this offseason.

I know the defense had some decent showings recently and they've been playing beat up all year and without legit edge rushers but I can't help but want to see a change there. Marvin Lewis, Vance Joseph, Steve Wilks and Todd Bowles were just let go. All 4 would be excellent DCs.

At the very least I hope they bring in someone to "consult" on D.

Hoping we're aggressive in free agency as well.

Draft IMO is either Bosa or trade down. Laken Tomlinson injury really sucked. I'm hoping it's not a long term issue but I'd be surprised if he's ready to play week 1 next year if at all next year . We'll definitely need help inside with Jimmy coming back. Donald is a wreaking ball and it's possible Arizona adds a stud interior guy of their own with Quenton Williams or Ed Oliver/Rashan Gary after a trade down.

^^^I'm not sure who the Cardinals are going to take. Bosa makes any team better, but the Cardinal offense needs to improve to help Rosen out and I think the Cardinal defense is pretty solid and would improve with a better offense. I don't follow college football, so I don't know if there is anyone that the Cardinals could take on offense that makes sense at #1 vs Bosa.

Nobody really. The D prospects are head and shoulders above the guys on offense.

I think the only prospects on offense who may go top 10 are Dwayne Haskins - QB value but not a need for Arizona obviously and Jonah Williams who is regarded as the best OT in this class and a need for Zona but I find it hard to see any team thinking he's BPA at #1 overall.

If I'm the 49ers I'm praying Zona trades down or goes with Quinnen Williams or Ed Oliver(I'm hoping for a trade down for them because I think those guys are studs and don't want to see them go to a division rival)

However if they do draft Bosa I'm looking at a big trade down offer for a team looking at Quinnen Williams or more likely Dwayne Haskins since the positional value is just way bigger.

If they don't get a legit trade down offer worth it then as much as I want them to address edge rusher I'd rather have them take Quinnen Williams and address edge in FA and later in the draft.

Quick offseason plan for me as of right now.

FA Signings:
Earl Thomas - FS
Tyrell Williams - WR
Roger Saffold - G
Shaq Barret - SAM LB
Dante Fowler - Edge

Draft - perfect scenario

1. Nick Bosa
2. Dalton Risner
3. Hakeem Butler
4. Cody Ford

Draft - Zona takes Bosa

1. Quinnen Williams
2. top edge on the board
3. Butler
4. Ford

Bosa still definitely realistic. Team loves a QB and trades up to #1 or Arizona decides to protect Rosen with Jonah Williams.

Yeah that’d be an unreal offseason but I wouldn’t get my hopes up after last seasons disappointing offseason.

Also, cannot imagine Butler making it that far. If I remember right Stephen Hill went 2nd round and he was just a raw, unproductive version of Butler. Butler is probably gonna shoot up the draft board when we get closer.

I love A.J. Brown but we’re probably not gonna get a shot at him. He’s my receiver draft crush.

Falling in love with Josh Allen.

He’s a monster. Tearing it up in this bowl game, even blocking a kick. He doesn’t take plays off and just seems like he loves the game. He’s still pretty raw but has huge upside.

Us coaching him at the senior bowl will be huge. I still want Bosa over him and if he's gone I think Q Williams is BPA over Allen but if they like what they see and think he can be an elite edge rusher in their scheme then I'm ok with them pulling the trigger over Williams. Just think Bosa is more NFL ready.

Ya I still want Bosa over Allen but I’m happy taking Allen at 2 if Bosa is gone.

Honestly imo this offseason should be easy for us. With pass rush being plentiful and us having money and the #2 pick we should go all in on two pass rushers and Earl Thomas.

I know we aren’t sure which of the pass rushers will actually see Free Agency but if we can get one of Lawrence/Clark/Clowney/Flowers/Ford/Graham and then go Bosa or Allen at 2 and then add ET on the backend we will instantly become at worst a league average defense. We’d have one of the best and most destructive defensive lines in the league with two smart veterans in Sherman and ET making plays. Obviously we still have plenty of holes at linebacker and corner but we could add some smaller pieces in those areas.

On offense we’re gonna be solid regardless with Jimmy G back. I think we all want a bigger receiver and we need some interior line help. I’m still seeing mocks with A.J. Brown going around our second round pick. Sign me up. We could get a really nice receiver with our 2nd pick seeing guys like A. Brown/Harmon/M. Brown/C Johnson going in that area.

Hopefully after the last disappointing offseason we have our dream offseason this year and truly become a contender.

I'm hesitant with Brown since that Ole Miss WR group was stacked and 1 year starters scare me. Could be a sign of things to come but could also be a lighting situation where you never see them show that again.

I do think this WR group is pretty underrated and I can definitely see WR being a BPA in the 2nd round.

I feel like these guys are likely to all be day 2 players at the latest. Metcalf, Harmon, Ridley and Harry are guys I think are more likely to go round 1.

DK Metcalf
Kelvin Harmon
Riley Ridley
N'Keal Harry
Hakeem Butler
AJ Brown
JJ Arcega-Whiteside
Deebo Samuel
Marquise Brown
Collin Johnson
Bryan Edwards
David Sills

Out of all those guys only Brown is shorter than 6 feet(though of course those are listed heights) but the bread and butter of this WR class has size.

AJ Brown doesn’t scare me because I watched him all year. Didn’t know who he was before the year but kept seeing him making big plays and looking a stud. Ta’amu would throw it up to him and he would come down with it more often than not. Seeing him do it against legit corners in the SEC made me a believer.

My other concern with Brown is he's more of a slot receiver despite his size. Between Pettis, Taylor and James we're not wanting on slot guys. I know Pettis was playing more Z for us lately so he's a good piece to have but I'm hoping we find our X. DK Metcalf would be fantastic but he'll go first. I like Hakeen Butler a lot and he had a big bowl game so I doubt he'll go in the 3rd as I was hoping before. Kevin Harmon would be great if he can slide out of the first round…though having Arizona sit at the top of the 2nd round that will almost certainly be a WR target spot for them since they need to get Rosen help.

If this AB thing has any real momentum I’d rather go that way and trade some future non-1st round picks for him. Use the second round pick on CB/OG/LB.

Cooper went for a first round pick but he was still in his early 20s and on a rookie deal. Brown is gonna be 31 on a large contract and clearly comes with a diva/me first attitude.

The Steelers leverage isn't great.

2020 2nd round pick and 2021 3rd rounder may get it done.

Of course we may not be the only team in the bidding. Jets can certainly use him as well and have a ton of cap space.

The #49ers, unhappy with the number of injuries the last two seasons, are moving on from strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright as @jenniferleechan reported this morning.

That is a good move. Curious to who they bring in and what would be different.
