“27 mil rolling guarantees”. I have a feeling Paraag worked his magic.

I like this signing. He’s only 24 and has been a really good player in this league.

Not feeling the signing at all, dude is coming off an ACL injury and is a liability in coverage. We could of paid or drafted someone for a lot less if we were just looking for a 2 down thumper. 🤦🏻‍♂️

In his first three seasons, Alexander proved to be a tackling machine, accumulating 335 tackles, six sacks, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

So before injury he put up some good numbers. Well be interesting to see what this does with Malcom Smith? Also If this guy is healthy he should look good along side with Fred Warner.

Huh? This is what we needed…definitely some risk but that comes with having a guy like this available. Warner can handle coverage duties too.

The guy can fly all over the field. Did you see our LB core last year? The word trash would be an upgrade. Malcolm Smith still needs to do his annual injury routine…we had to get a starter and dude is a stud.

The missed tackles stat is misleading too. Willis has years where he had a high number because he was always around the ball.

Let’s get ET and I’m readyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Yeah, that’s not true. He’s also a really good blitzer.

And FWIW, a lot of people that follow the Bucs think he was playing out of position. He’s more of a Will linebacker and was playing the Mike.

He has a ton of upside still.

I need to be working but can’t stay away from the rumors and misc right now.

Don’t believe Millen however and would sort of be disappointed if we landed Becks. I want Bosa. I also want cap flexibility…and Thomas.

Beckham will f all that up.

Alright, maybe I shot my wad too early. Was talking to a coworker who is a bucs fan and he was telling me how kwon sucked and we got robbed paying him that much. I looked and saw highest paid MLB in nfl history and I had to post. I trust Lynch and company so I’m hoping we made a smart move. The ACL thing just scares me to be honest

In 3 seasons he has 335 tackles, six sacks, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. I posed that above. If he can come back healthy I will take that type of production. Another thing that is going around is his missed tackles. I think that is a flawed stat looking at what his total tackles are. That just shows that he gets to the ball.

My guess is the first 2 years he gets the money and the last 4 gives options to keep or drop/trade him. It seems that the niners prefer to pay most money upfront with the contracts and then save money towards the end. Not to bad IMO.

Coming from a Bucs fan, Kwon Alexander sucks and was the one of the biggest reason our defense was so bad for so long. His all-22 is horrendous. Tries to run around guards, leaving huge holes. Bites on underneath teaser routes, giving up 15+ yard chunk passing plays all game. He'll make a big hit every once and awhile but I thought Lynch was smarter than this.
Basically what I said in my first post, this is from the free agent thread. I hope it's wrong but it's the second time I've heard it today from people who are fans of the Bucs.

Lots of players getting snatched up all around the league, not really sure how to feel on our LB signing, I know nothing about the dude but I am concerned no matter what about a guy coming off ACL. We have had so many of those not work out for us, not to mention Jimmy and Jerick already in that boat. Hope he plays well for us though.

I love the signing. Dont give a chit about how much he is making. 2 years down the road he will be like the 28th highest paid ILB in the league. We have money and the cap keeps going up.

As long as Kwon Alexander doesn’t stop us from getting other solid pieces then this signing doesn’t bother me at all. I know Paraag made the most of this deal as he could and we’ll find that out soon enough.

He’s 24, has shown some great flashes and some poor play. Same could be said for Amari Cooper who came into the league very young. All it could take is some good coaching and a positional change and he could see his full potential. The ACL injury doesn’t worry me at all, I read that Malik Hooker tore his ACL the same day a season before Alexander did and was back by training camp.

Fast, athletic 24 year old linebacker that has already proven he can be a stud at times, has proven he can be a leader and never had anything close to a solid defensive line in front of him…worth the gamble. Now can our defensive staff get him right? That I’m not sure.

Like I said, if this signing doesn’t affect us signing multiple other good players it’s worth it. And with what I read to be ~60 mil in cap space left, we should be able to get multiple key pieces. I am concerned that Kwon was obviously our #1 target and apparently we haven’t even been in contact with ET’s agent yet, especially considering two of the top safeties are already off the market.

Rumor is that we are interested but he’s not even the top priority after Kwon. Good news is that ET liked Kwon’s Tweet about his contract and ET started following John Lynch on Twitter. As silly as that may be, it’s something positive for our hope he signs with us.
Horny.

Yea. It doesn’t look good for us going at ET. Cowboys want him in the 8-10 range…he wants 13. Even if we gave him 11 or 12, what is the difference with the commie tax bracket CA has in comparison to TX no state income tax.

He’s going to be a Cowboy. I wonder if, even in the slightest, the fact the team is SF weighs into anything. He obviously lived the rivalry and then it seems he grew up hating SF I would assume if he’s a Dallas fan

Should I start researching Amos?

Don’t count out ET. Seems like he’s making a pitch to SF today. He was so pissed at Seattle that it’s possible he wants to sign with us just out of spite.

Just wish we were in contact with him already. It’s only day one of the tampering period though. Plenty of time left.

Thomas, Amos and then Clinton Dix in that order.

I’d love to see an impact player added to each part of the defense.
Secondary - Thomas
LB - Alexander
DL - Bosa!

Packers destroyed us in FA. Feel like we have to land ET now. Bosa is as good as ours….reports are raiders will go up to 1 if needed for Murray. So either OAK or ARI are taking Murray st 1.

With Sherman on the team he should be in the office talking to the management right now. Pay the man… We are still sitting at like 60 mill last time I checked.

I am ok with the signing yesterday. I would like to see some more movement today.

Damn, FA is stressful lol

It hasn’t even been a full 24 hours of the legal tampering period and 49ers fans are all stressed out. We should probably relax, but damn these safeties are flying off of the market. There were a lot of good options and now we’re left with ET or Clinton-Dix.

For the current market and ET looking for 2 year/30 mil I can’t believe we haven’t pushed hard for him.

Only thing I can see about us being interested in players it’s only corners right now. Hopefully we get some good news today.
