Well….I finally changed my bracelet to leather. Im loving it so far. Its much lighter than before and I dont worry about scuffing the bracelet anymore when Im at work (typing, writing, eating, etc). Plus I love the look. Its a bit more discrete now. the bracelet was a work of art but I really dont want to wear it in the summer. Sweat, expanding wrist etc

It was a very tedious conversion. If anybody wants to do a similar conversion for a Royal Oak or ROO let me know and ill point you in the right direction.

The bracelet can always put reattached in a matter of mins.

Here are some pics

I think the watch is too big for you so I understand putting it on leather.

Maybe a 38 RO would have been better.

Originally I felt it wore very large also. It wore much bigger than I thought it would in comparison to the daytona. But the size and shape really grew on me. My reason for changing from bracelet to leather was due to the watch the not having much color. For a short while (a week after i got it), I considered trying to trade it for a black dial. But the black dial simply did not look as nice in person to me.

The bracelet was beautiful and is a hallmark of AP but it seemed so monochrome. Still I had my heart set on getting an AP chronograph so I picked the 1 that best fit what I was looking for. Im happy with the outcome in terms of how the watch sits on my wrist with brown leather.

Also, theres no 38mm royal oak. There WAS a 39mm royal oak in a color combo i am extremely fond of, but I would never buy a 2nd hand watch that I am not able to atleast inspect in person 1st. Since there wasnt 1 available in Taiwan, I didnt consider it too much.
This is that particular watch.

The same style is not available across all sizes. The mens 37mm does not come in chronograph. The current gen 39mm also does not come in chronograph. Chronograph is only available as a 41mm, 42mm and 44mm (novelty).

After wearing this ROC though, I think the Daytona is as small as I will go.

I absolutely love it. Its also great value for money when you take into account the resale value.
Dont ever say you dont care about resale because you dont plan to sell it. You dont know if you might feel like upgrading down the line or if you have a sudden need for cash.

I especially like the black dial but the white dial is the hot item now and will probably be worth more down the line.

I like them, but some don't like the way the band is brushed. It's all personal preference but if you're like me my preferences tend to change over time. Most are going to tell you to go GMT or Sub over Explorer but go with what you like you cant go wrong .

Thought some of these were pretty interesting. Outlandish and too much for my tastes, but still interesting from a construction standpoint.

I think it looks good - 41mm is not big by anyones imagination (I understand the RO lugs make it wear taller). I too probably wouldn't go much smaller than a Daytona - watches always look huge in pictures and I was amazed at how small the Daytona felt. I know some people ITT like to wear as small as 34mm's etc, I appreciate that, I wish I could wear them comfortably then maybe I would get a 'get the **** out my way' 36mm DD

The watch does sit a bit high. Its profile is much taller than the daytona in addition to be wider in all aspects. But damn is it beauriful.

The 15400 is significantly thinner if you are still considering it. 15202 even thinner than that but double the price of the 15400 lol

I'm assuming you mean for the strap. eBay, Amazon. Lug pins are what they're called.

However, I'd put that money towards a new watch instead. I spent money on a DW a couple years ago, before they really blew up. Unfortunately a fashion watch.

Edit: wuddup ladies. Haven't had a phone since Friday cause my grandma dropped it in a lake lol. Just got the replacement today.

Yeah, I fuking hate my DW watch now. Been sitting in the box for the past 3 years.
The whole city from where I'm from (Kuala Lumpur) has a DW watch.

Here is a pic of the Daytona (40mm) next to the AP (41mm) for comparison. I realize the pic I posted a few weeks ago might not be a good representation since the bracelet on the AP makes it 2 inches closer to the camera than the Daytona (which can lay flat) during that pic.

compared to this pic (the 1 i originally posted)

What really grinds my gear is watch companies saying they are using some special movement instead of just saying that they bought it from eta. Transparency.

Regardless this watch is quite a decent buy at that price/specs.
