Bradley Pinion is gone now. I guess that kicker we signed was not a dumb move now.

9ers in serious trade talks with Chiefs involving Dee Ford. Could be done by tonight.

Man if we could get him without giving up our second this year I’d be so excited. Even if it’s for our 2nd I’ll be fine with it. Let’s see what slunch can pull off here.

dammit I don’t want Ford at his price or with the picks
Packers are out on Ford now…so who would we be bidding with? Chiefs don’t want to pay the franchise tag or give him a new deal.

Seems done. 2020 2nd rd…not mad. Hope the contract is reasonable. Considering kwan is light this year I’d assume his first year hit will be the max.

Love this Ford trade. Still have a chance at Bosa and a stud WR at 36. As long as we can still get ET I’ll be stoked with this offseason.

Agree on the 2020 2nd is a win (big I believe) for us.
Thought I read Alexander was getting little this year but I’ll have to check the article on niners nation again. Reading while in traffic.

Love this move. So glad we didn’t do the OBJ deal. Now get Bosa and Earl Thomas and this is like Seahawks adding Bennett and Avril same year.

I like the Dee Ford trade. Big pickup for this team. I hope we can land ET, kinda glad we didn't go after OBJ just would've cost too much I think, and to be honest as bad as our WRs have been our O isn't our biggest problem.

Love it!! This gives us much more flexibility in the draft. Quinnen Williams or a trade down would make sense

But, assuming Bosa goes #1 I’d love to trade down with the Giants in exchange for their #6 overall and the #17 overall they just got from the Browns, assuming they really want Haskins. We could actually get another pick or two in that trade.
Drafting 6, 17, and 36 in this draft would be an awesome consolation prize to not getting Bosa.
6. Devin White, LB
17. Brian Burns, EDGE
36. AJ Brown, WR

We were aggressively going after Bell? Yeesh….this makes me think Lynch has zero actual direction. I’m certain we cut Mck, if it worked out but gives off the perception we are just throwing money at things without a plan.

I'm glad he took the Jets offer but saying they made an offer isn't saying we were going to give him a huge deal.

And having a back who can gash teams in the run or the passing game is certainly part of the plan the whole time.

Going after Bell is a no brainer, he's arguably the best back in the league (or was prior to sitting out). Jet is coming off ACL even though he's Shanny's pick at the position, and like genus said as great as Breida was last year he was constantly hurt. That said Lynch may have been trying to up the price for the Jets going after Bell after they did the same to us for McKinnon.

If we did that trade and Bosa and Haskins went 1 and 2, I think it’s safe to assume another team would then trade up to get Murray before our pick at 6. So there’d still be Q, Allen and Sweat. I haven’t seen any mock drafts with Burns going before those guys. I still see Burns going in the 10-20 range.
Remember how badly we wanted Harold Landry at 9 and he went #41 overall. Calvin Ridley fell all the way to #26 after he was supposed to be a top 12 pick.
Horny.

Also here’s a breakdown of the Kwon Alexander deal and why it’s very team friendly. Paraag always working his magic.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.sac...227488649.html
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.sac...227488649.html
First, according to Overthecap.com, Alexander’s base salary in 2019 is just $1.75 million, but he receives $9.5 million in guaranteed bonuses plus per-game roster bonuses that make his salary-cap hit just north of $11.5 million. The only true guaranteed money beyond 2019 is the $3 million remaining of his $4 million signing bonus. Alexander is expected to earn $14.25 million in the first year.
Horny.

Just saw this:
Former Seahawks’ S Earl Thomas intends to sign a four-year, $55 million deal that includes $32 million fully guaranteed at signing with the Baltimore Ravens, league source tells ESPN. Deal includes $22 million in first nine months.

What value is there at safety now? Clinton-Dix is the only respected safety available now and he was not good for Washington last year and plays strong safety. We need a ballhawk free safety.
I’m happy with the moves so far but we still have massive holes at corner, safety and receiver. And at #2 we aren’t fixing any of those holes.

Well we can't fix every position at the same time. Now that our Dline is going to be stacked (IMO) and will have a legit pass rush it will greatly help out our secondary. The QB will not have all day long to throw the ball which should again help out the secondary.

If we got Pierre Desir and Tyrell Williams on cheap deals I’d be happy. Desir was a good corner for the Colts last year and fits our mold as a big physical corner.
I’ve always liked Tyrell Williams but not sure he fits Shanny’s prototype. Also wouldn’t want to give him a big deal.

Paying that money would have been awful with our WR core as is and the historic non turnover defense we have. Our secondary is bad, very bad. The pass rush will help but looks like we are going to have to rely on “upside” and “potential” like last year. The same potential the current coaching staff was unable to tap into.
We wasted time playing with Bell. Hopefully other players come available or we pull a gem out the draft.
