Anyone in here live in/around Hamilton?

Gonna go hiking there with the gf in September and just looking for advice on good trails that end in/have waterfalls.
PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.

The best place to go for waterfalls is Webster falls conservation area.

Currently searching for a roommate. All of my friends are lazy and don't want to move out and don't want to live with a random and also don't want to live alone although I would prefer it the cost is too damn high.

Lol no the prices are freaking insane. I want to stick to my area which is outside downtown but still close enough to easily get there. I found a place I like, it's new and nearby. Also with a roommate it would be about $800 per person then utilities which isn't bad.

I know and under 1K per person is quite reasonable in Toronto. Obviously more people means less per person but I can barely find 1 person to live with let alone 2. Also there are some places where rent can get up to 5k/month, I hate this city for living costs. If it was any other city I could probably have a sweet place on my own.

Those are NYC prices with Toronto having only a quarter of the Big Apple's population. What is going on up there?

Just a super inflated housing market. It's stupid but people are charging millions for houses and others are buying it. I read about an article that said the prices of houses in Toronto and surrounding area are going up $550 each day which means that well no one can buy a home in this city, you would need to be making like 75k a year and a spouse have the same amount to buy a home or somehow come into a fuuk ton of money. So in my case I won't be buying a home or living on my own anytime soon.

Guess it must just be demand to live in that particular city. Lots of people want to be in a cleaner NYC with a more reasonable government, it seems.

took me a month to find a condo rental this time. last year it was much easier. prices have increased $100+ in the downtown core for 1 bedroom. pissening. My agent said it was the combination of lack of inventory (people not renting out/moving out, no new condo/apt development coming online) and higher housing prices forcing people to rent vs buy.

The Chinese are looking for a spot to park their money. They're buying up all the houses in the GTA which is the cause for the high prices. People nowadays are foregoing the inspections just to get the homes. BC put in a tax to stop these foreign buyers inflating the house prices but now they're just coming to Toronto.

I've got a condo in Markham that will be ready in 2019

Other than that… anyone who isn't in the market… is fked. Either live up in Barrie and commute or rent forever.

I should get me an agent to do all of the leg work for me.

The only way I'm getting a house in Toronto is if my parents give me their house after they pass away or can't live there anymore. Other then that I have to win the lottery or meet a rich girl. The lottery winning is more likely for me.

I hear that Airbnb isn't making things better.

Why rent out or sell a place you can charge tourists nightly for?

I honestly don't want to but not being broke > being broke. So far I have a job in the city and until that changes I'll move away.

Never watched a whole lot of television. Too busy wandering around my city.

Also could never get down with sitcoms, just a personal taste issue.

When I was younger Seinfeld was always on TV as I didn't have many channels and ended up watching it and loving it. Today I barely watch any of the series on TV, people looks at me like I kick puppies and flash children when I tell them I haven't watched or care about like 95% of shows on TV today.

The funniest is when my friends showed me an episode of Game of Thrones because I didn't have the channel at the time. Get through the episode and they all look at me like this waiting for my reaction…

I told them I didn't like it and had no interest in watching the series. They pleaded to me that it was worth it and I had to watch it. I just said I didn't like it, I didn't like the mythical world setting as it reminded me of mid-evil times setting which I hate. So I've only watched 1 and only 1 episode of GoT.

Same here… I don't watch much of anything… And I still rent movies from a real live movie rental place…

That's appropriate, I am not to be trusted.

A friend who has cable did give me his password so I can watch full Olympic event feeds streamed on the internet. It has been pretty amazing.

stay safe Toronto brahs

http://globalnews.ca/news/2903539/3-...carborough-on/

Three people were killed in a reported stabbing incident east of downtown Toronto Thursday afternoon and police say a crossbow was found at the scene.

Toronto police officers responded to Lawndale Road, in the Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road area, just before 1 p.m. for a reported stabbing.

Police initially said on Twitter that officers found two victims without vital signs, but Toronto Paramedic Services confirmed to Global News they treated two males and a female at the scene who were later pronounced dead.

My question is, if you get hit by a crossbow, why do you report to the police as a "stabbing". I mean, clearly no one came up to you and stabbed the arrow through you, right?
