I think Bosa and Williams are by far and away the best two players. Really don’t see either of them being busts. The only way I’d want to trade down is if Bosa goes 1 and we have an offer for at least two first round picks this year (Oakland or NYG).
Horny.

Bumpity bump.

Still not sure if it's just a smoke screen from Arizona but the fact that reports are coming in that teams have offered up a 2nd round pick for Rosen is great news for us.

I honestly think either way Bosa is there at #2 but if Rosen is traded it's a sure thing.

Of course my fear is if Arizona takes Murray and somehow we pass on Bosa

Now I wouldn't cry too much if they went with Quinnen Williams or even Josh Allen but to me it's still

1. Bosa

2. Trade down

3. Quinnen Williams
4. Josh Allen
5. Brian Burns

And there are pretty damn large gaps between 1, 2 and 3. 3/4/5 are coin flip for me I can see any of them being great for us.

Bosa just screams perfect fit to me. I really hope we don't make the idiotic mistake of saying no unless the trade offer to move down is simply too good to pass up. I'm talking still staying in the top 10, picking up a 1st/2nd rounder this year and 2nd/1st next year.

IF the trade with NYG happens I'm expecting #6, #17 and a pick next year. And then hoping like hell that Brian Burns is there. It seems like they like Sweat a lot but I'm worried about his heart and honestly I don't think his tape is that great. I think he's a 3rd down rusher as a rookie.

If i'm drafting…i would love to see us walk away with something like this - per draft network mock

Don't know if some of those guys fall that far but they were there during the sim.

I'd also strongly consider moving down from 36 to try to acquire another 3rd rounder. I also think we try to move Armstead after drafting Bosa. Don't know if he'll fetch anything above day 3 pick but I think he very well could be a Kilgore special. 1 year deal, coming off a pretty good year and still young. He'll have value.

I don't see the Giants or anyone else giving up a lot to move to #2 especially since the Jets at #3 are probably trying to move down themselves.

I like it. Savage in the 3rd is growing on a lot of people. I'm not 100% sure they will go safety but if we could get Savage or Juan Thornhill in the 3rd I'd be in favor of it.

I’m all in on Thornhill. If AJ Brown and N’Keal Harry are gone then I’d go safety at 36, and ideally it’d be Adderley but assuming he’d be gone I’d take Thornhill right there. And then go get a Hall, Isabella, Boykin or Ridley in the 3rd.

Savage in the 3rd is cool too, though. If we get Bosa and then go get a WR and a FS in the 2nd and 3rd, either order, I’m happy as hell.

Dude i'm so ready for that week…

1. Draft
2. Supposedly a crazy GOT episode
3. Avengers End Game
4. Vacation

My birthday is that week but only reason i give a fuk is it lets me guilt trip the wife into watching Avengers with me.

And Bosa, Harry, Thornhill and McGovern would be fuking amazing.

Stealing these breakdown vids from johnydel at 49erswebzone.

Guy does a great breakdown of Solomon Thomas last year when he actually got snaps on the inside

Pass downs:

Run downs:

Really hoping we can get Nick Bosa and have a DL of Bosa, Buckner, Thomas and Ford. It has the potential of being a monster group. Maybe none of the guys will be the best in the league but overall the unit can be the best one if Thomas takes the next step and Bosa plays up to his ability…and of course as with any unit they stay healthy.

Saw those vids yesterday. I think I saw a statistic that Thomas was actually a good pass rusher when he got moved to the interior late in the year.

I’ve been calling him a bust but I still think there’s hope with him. Move him permanently inside, give him Bosa with the other two guys around him, low expectations, a new defensive line coach and maybe less emotional of a year for him regarding his sister.

As for the draft, I’ve been loving doing Raiders mock drafts. They can seriously go 4 defensive players with their first 4 picks and have a legit roster.
Horny.

A lot of people aren’t excited about the thought of Shanny drafting Andy Isabella because he’s a 5’9 white guy from a small school but that dude is a fukking baller. I’d rather get AJ Brown or N’Keal Harry in the 2nd but if we took Isabella I wouldn’t even be mad.

Shanny has made it clear he doesn’t care about height for receivers. I bet he’s in love with Isabella. I’d take him over Hollywood Brown.

^^ I cant see your mock.

My Friday thoughts
1st Round:
The more I think about it the more I think we really can’t screw this up with pick #2. Bosa is my obvious choice but he isn’t without questions. IMO I don’t think the team can go wrong with him, Williams, or Allen and that’s my order or preference. I hesitate to put Allen in there but I think he actually fills a bigger need as he would play SAM on base downs and DE on passing downs. We really don’t have a good option at SAM currently on the roster but we also don’t play base too much either. Now most of the time you pick BPA and he is behind Bosa and Williams. So at #2 I think Bosa, Williams and Allen are at play.

I don’t think a trade down will be on the table unless the Cardinals don’t take Kyler. The Jets at 3 are looking to deal back as they need more draft picks (they don’t have a 2nd rounder) so anyone looking to trade up would get a better deal with them. I’m also not sure if any team out there are in love with this year’s group of quarterbacks more less be willing to wager their future to move up for one. But if a trade down is on the table I think we could still get Josh Allen if we don’t drop outside of 6 or Brian Burns would come into play. I like Burns but just not at #2.

2nd Round:
I don’t see us moving back into the 1st round unless we trade a player because we just don’t have a lot of extra draft capital to make the move up. With this years crop of WR’s I think we can get a very good one at #36. I have 6 WRs I would take at 36 (Brown, Metcalf, Butler, Samual, Harry, and Harmon) and I’m pretty sure one of them will be there. Heck one might even slip to our 3rd round pick. I wouldn’t be mad if we even went OL at #36 as we have some depth issues and Staley is close to retirement.

Anyways the draft cant get here soon enough. Did you guys here that some fan bought a $24,000 ticket to sit in the draft war room? That would be me if I had that kind of money to blow. I would love to see how the draft board works and hear all of the conversations that go on during the draft.

I think we can stay at 36 and get a great prospect that will be fighting for a starting spot in TC. Ideally, for me, we get either a top WR or S at that spot. But if there was a run on those positions then it’ll likely mean a top interior lineman or top corner will be available.

I’m honestly fine with Witherspoon getting the starting spot again, coming off of a good end to the season and adding a ton of pressure with the new look D-line. Assuming Verrett gets hurt again or isn’t what he was before the injuries piled up.

At pick 36, with the talent in this draft and the talent on our roster I think WR is the best position to take, assuming one of the good ones are still there. If we’re gonna make a playoff run that’s the position a guy could come in and start right away.

To me when I run mocks(obviously not a great indicator of what will actually happen) but it's usually WR/IOL or S as BPA if we're looking at our needs. From those two I think WR/IOL is the bigger concern. We may not have THE safety but we have a lot of youth who can battle it out and maybe secure the spot.

Our line was solid last year and would’ve looked even better with Jimmy G. (PFF rated it 15th). I think interior line is still a need but ideally for me it’s a 4th-5th round draft pick. A wideout could come in and make an immediate impact.

But ya if at 36 the best WR available is Harmon and the best S available is Hooker and Bradbury or Lindstrom are sitting there then I’d be all for one of those.

I’d feel a lot better about the OL if Richburg could stay healthy or had a better season than he did. Tomlinson is coming off an injury to end the season and Person needs to snow last year wasn’t an abnormal thing. Gotta keep Jimmy clean if we can. But a WR there may make a lot more sense.

Also, at around the 16 min mark in this podcast, Matt Miller says he’s heard that if N’Keal Harry is gone then Deebo Samuel is their guy at 36. Take it for what it’s worth.

I like. I'd probably go with another olineman in the 6th just because I don't see another WR making the team.

IMO we are stacked with depth guys at WR and just need a true #1.

Not bad but I'm not as high on Mullen as some others. Also think Blair in the 4th is too early.

Honestly I'm only taking safety if I think he can start. I don't think Blair is any better than what we have.

The only safeties I'd consider us drafting are

Nasir Adderley
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
Juan Thornhill
Darnell Savage
Deionte Thompson

In that order.

Still bummed we didn’t get ET. Not only would he be a huge piece to our defense but we wouldn’t be having to focus on the secondary in this draft. Witherspoon would look so much better with ET behind him and Ford and Bosa on the line. We could’ve afforded him no problem.

Would love to get one of the interior lineman in this draft at 36.
Horny.
