Would love to get one of the interior lineman in this draft at 36 .
Don't think that's a need at all assuming we go Bosa at 2.

If anything I'd go IOL.

I agree Thomas here would've been perfect and it's a shame but seems like we're hell bent to keep our options open salary cap wise if guys hit a wall and Thomas wasn't willing to take that type of deal. Hopefully in hindsight it was a wise move by us but I'd definitely feel SO much better about our defense with him a FS.

I really think if we stay at 36 BPA is likely going to be between WR, IOL, FS

I was referring to interior O-lineman lol.

But with safety and receiver being such a need for this team, and with the way the talent stacks in this draft I think we can’t afford to miss out on going WR/S in rounds 2 and 3. But these drafts never seem to go as expected so who knows.
Horny.

lol sorry…not sure why i assumed you were talking DL for some reason.

It's a tough call, honestly the biggest discussion to be had(hopefully Bosa is a no brainer despite the stupid politics talk) every time i run a mock(totally understand it means 0) I'm always torn between going with IOL, WR or S at 36.

I'd almost prefer we trade down to make the decisions easier.

Only guy I'm running up to the podium for IF he drops and i doubt he will is Bradbury.

Ya I’m on TDN a lot too and if it goes like that I think going WR and then S in the 3rd is the best play. Savage and Thornhill are almost always available in the 3rd. I feel like it’s almost guaranteed we go WR in the 2nd with the talent there and with how hard they pursued OBJ. They know our receiving corps is pretty weak.

Trading down from 36 is interesting. Using the draft pick calculator I see one trade that adds up that I like and that’s getting picks 52 and 66 from Pittsburgh in exchange for 36 and 86.

If AJ Brown is available at 36 though I’m not trading back. Also really starting to love Deebo Samuel. Great player that was just limited by sh*t QB play.
Horny.

Lots of great options at 36 for sure. I'm sure I'll be happy with our pick(hope so) but at the same time bummed out we couldn't get someone else.

I'm a big fan of Savage and Thornhill. Would be awesome if one of them fell to us in the 3rd but I think both guys are on the rise.

End of the day I think what's best for us is to take Bosa at 2. Move down from 36 to get another 3rd rounder if possible. Then go BPA at IOL, WR or S.

However as much as I like some of the WRs that could be there at 36 I also can't help but look ahead to next year and see the sick WR class. May be better long term for us to go with OL in the 2nd round, DB in the 3rd and then try to find a diamond in the rough in 4th+ rounds. Then go WR round 1 next year in the deep class.

I think the guys we have(assuming they stay healthy) can be good enough with Jimmy. Just can't rely on Goodwin alone anymore.

So pissed that Foster isn't even getting a suspension. What a ****ing dumbass.

Forces the 49ers to cut his ass and isn't even missing time now. I'm sure it's a matter of time before he ****s up again but still super frustrating.

Someone pressed him on that, he said he thinks that's what the 49ers prefer to do in HIS opinion but it would take a lot of dominoes to fall to get it done.

And technically his prediction can still make sense.

They can draft Bosa at 2, draft WR at #36 and trade down later in the draft and he'll be 100% spot on lol.

Really hope we don't overthink this. Take Bosa, it's very simple.

Agreed but if Bosa is gone it’s completely different.

Looking at the draft pick value chart, if a team like Washington was in love with Murray we could get a kings ransom for #2. We could get their 1, 2, 3 and 1 next year. If Bosa is gone and we got this:

15. EDGE Brian Burns
36. OG Chris Lindstrom
46. WR Deebo Samuel
67. FS Juan Thornhill
76. WR Andy Isabella
104. CB Joejuan Williams

With two first rounders next year….hnnnnggg

But I dream.

Sounds pretty likely that one way or another Murray is going #1 overall.

Anybody else worried we haven’t acknowledged safety this off-season besides resigning Ward? Didn’t pursue any in FA and haven’t had any visits with the safeties in this draft.

Here’s our pre-draft visits:

PRE-DRAFT VISITS
– LB Josh Allen, Kentucky (NBC Sports Bay Area)
– CB Blessuan Austin, Rutgers (NFL Draft Diamonds)
– DE Nick Bosa, Ohio State (NBC Sports Bay Area)
– WR A.J. Brown, Mississippi (The Athletic)
– Edge Brian Burns, Florida State (Chris Simms Unbuttoned)
– WR Hakeem Butler, Iowa State (NBC Sports Bay Area)
– CB Xavier Crawford, Central Michigan (NFL Network)
– TE Noah Fant, Iowa (Sirius XM NFL Radio/NBC Sports Bay Area)
– LB Dre Greenlaw, Arkansas (Houston Chronicle)
– LB Terrill Hanks, New Mexico State (NFL Network)
– WR N'Keal Harry, Arizona State (NFL Network)
– WR Jalen Hurd, Baylor (NFL Network)
– TE Tyree Mayfield, Wyoming (NFL Network)
– CB Jimmy Moreland, James Madison (Houston Chronicle)
– WR Deebo Samuel, South Carolina (The Athletic)
– DE Montez Sweat, Mississippi State (NFL Network)
– CB Derrek Thomas, Baylor (Houston Chronicle)
– WR Preston Williams, Colorado State (NFL Draft Diamonds)
– NT Quinnen Williams, Alabama (NBC Sports Bay Area)

I know I'm a minority here but I think our secondary played ok last year considering the injuries. I thought Exum played decent for a 3rd string safety. Marcel Harris showed some good skills too. Only person I was disappointed with was Colbert who seemed to regress. Maybe he puts it all altogether this year but he's going to have his hands full trying to keep his job.

If Verret manages to stay healthy and starts I'd like them to move Moore back to safety.

If we had a few more interceptions I think we would feel ok. Hopefully with Dee Ford coming off the edge now and maybe even Bosa we'll get some more interceptions.

My thoughts are if we fix the pass rush the secondary will improve.

There are a few guys in this class I think can start for us at FS, but if we go with other needs then I'm ok riding it out with the guys we do have and hoping they stay healthy and play better with our improved pass rush.

Guys I think can start for us at FS from this class

Adderley
Gardner-Johnson
Savage
Thornhill
Thompson

I like Amani Hooker as well but the guys above are the top guys IMO. Thompson is at the bottom only cuz of his injury/off field concerns.

If we don't get one of those guys then ride it out with who we have, maybe take a guy later in the draft and see if we can coach them up.

Also don't forget just cuz we don't bring a player in for a visit doesn't mean we're not interested. McGlinchey got an interview at the combine and that's all the interaction we had with him. The guys you bring in sometimes are more about finding out additional info on guys you have concerns, questions about or sending out some smoke screens.

Considering those safeties will likely be 2nd/3rd round pick targets for us not showing interest is smart.

It’s not the players that aren’t being shown interest, it’s the position. Not showing any interest in safeties in FA and not bringing in one for a visit doesn’t seem like “not tipping your hand”, sounds like they aren’t even thinking about the position.
Horny.

Our schedule opens up nice. Should be able to go 2-0 while knocking out two east coast games. Should be staying on the East so the week 2 10am game against Cincy shouldn’t be a problem.

Week 12 on isn’t gonna be easy.

Vs. GB
@ BAL
@ NO
Vs. ATL
Vs. LAR
@ SEA

But seriously fuk having a week 4 bye. What a fukking waste of a bye week.

Week 4 bye is bullchit. I also hate the fact that we’re playing a MNF game coming off of it. Such a long ass wait. You’re losing the advantage of coming off a bye week in a sense.

Schedule at the end looks tough but you never know how teams will look when it’s said and done.

Hope our guys are healthy and ready to roll. Good draft and some luck avoiding injuries and we’re a playoff team.

Really hope this time next week Bosa is being introduced to the 49ers media. It's a no brainer pick IMO if he's available at #2 but I have a bad feeling we're going to overthink it

For whatever the hell it’s worth, some guy on 49ers reddit that goes to the same barber as TT, Kittle and Mullens said that the barber asked Mullens about the draft and Mullens said that all the talk around the team is about Bosa.

Looks like Robbie Gould wants to be traded? I know his family is still in Chicago and he wants to be closer, but does he really think forcing a trade will get him any closer to home?

Cool story bro time. So I hung out with Dante Pettis at the 1975 concert last night in SF. He was there by himself since his brother & sister weren't able to make it. He gave me their wristbands for vip seating and me & my gf sat and chilled with him. Super cool dude. Got him a drink and I had some of his skittles lol. Awesome concert too.

Ben Garland played 476 snaps for Atlanta in 2017 (mostly at LG) and 371 snaps in 2018, mostly at RG.
75.2 run blocking grade ranked 2nd out of 79 guards last season, 59.7 pass blocking grade ranked 62nd out of 79

I am happy to see they are looking at options and bringing more people in. Curious to see that the final spots will look like for the Oline this coming season.

Just read that the team said no and will not trade him. This puts him in a tough spot now. We tagged him for one year and then he has a chance to get signed wherever. Will he purposely tank this season because he doesn't want to be here or will he make sure he plays well to up his value?

He's a professional athlete with impressive career stats. He wouldn't do that to his legacy.

I agree, plus it would only hurt him in making future money. My issue is what it does to the moral of the locker room.

Just retire if you want to be at home with family. He’s not fukn lebron thinking he can dictate where he’s going.

All good points and he is like 36? So he could technically just say peace out and retire, but as a kicker he should be able to play for a while longer.

Looks like there is a possibility that Agholor from the Eagles could be available for trade? He is on his last year of his rookie contract as well. I do not follow the Eagle that closely but would anyone think he would be worth a trade?
