Offensive linemen #49ers have signed this offseason (after re-signing Mike Person):
Ben Garland
Wesley Johnson
Willie Beavers
Daniel Brunskill
Justin Skule
Ross Reynolds
Something I overlooked this off season. While none of these guys may be great by any means they are at least adding depth and competition.

Oh chit… totally forgot to mention it and I don’t think anyone else did?
I read that Anthony Davis is trying to file for reinstatement back to play again. He must be low on money right now. Sucks for him because I think we still own the rights to him.

Maybe we can trade him away for peanuts to another team. Wouldn't even care at this point if he ended up playing well for another team. He's still young and talented obviously but I just don't trust him. Plus I can't imagine someone like Joe Staley, who was on the team both times this asshat pulled this chit, would welcome him back.

Saw a "expectations for the 49ers in 2019" on NFL network and it got me pretty hyped up.
Gonna be some tough battles in camp and 53 roster is going to see some tough cuts.
For us as we've mentioned health is #1 priority. Obviously that's the case for any roster but we have so many question marks due to injury history or coming off major injuries that we REALLY need some health to key players.
IF that happens I think we have a huge improvement, especially on defense. Biggest question marks are in the secondary but if the pass rush can be what it looks like on paper then the secondary should be much improved.
Looking at our roster right now here is my prediction for the 53 man roster(starters bolded)
QB: Jimmy Garoppolo , Nick Mullens(Kyle may need to eat his pride to let Beathard go, may be able to trade him for a late pick)(2)
RB: Matt Breida , Tevin Coleman, Jerrick McKinnon, Raheem Mostert(4)
FB: Kyle Juszczyk (1)
WR: Dante Pettis, Deebo Samuel , Jalen Hurd, Marquise Goodwin , Kendrick Bourne, Richie James(6)
TE: George Kittle , Kaden Smith(2)
OL: Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, Laken Tomlinson, Weston Richburg, Mike Person , Shon Coleman, Ross Reynolds, Ben Garland, Wesley Johnson(9)
K: Robbie Gould (1)
DL: Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, Dee Ford , Arik Armstead, DJ Jones, Kentavius Street, Julian Taylor, Damontre Moore (9)
LB: Fred Warner, Kwon Alexander, Malcolm Smith , Dre Greenlaw, Elijah Lee, Mark Nzeocha(6)
CB: Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon, Jason Verrett , Tarvarius Moore, Tim Harris, K'Wan Williams(6)
S: Jaquiski Tartt, Adrian Colbert , Jimmie Ward, DJ Reed, Marcell Harris(5)
P: Mitch Wishnowsky
LS: Colin Holba (Kyle Nelson)
Toughest battle I see is the OL competition. We have a lot of unknowns outside of the starting 5. I'm not sure if Garnett has a place on this roster but just because we declined his 5th year option doesn't mean he's automatically gone. Bears didn't pick up the 5th year option on Kyle Fuller and he's one of their best players. I'm not listing him on the roster now because I think he's got an uphill battle but I'm grasping at straws at anyone outside the starting 5. No idea how any of those guys will look this camp.
The DB competition should be pretty fun to watch as well. We definitely need Tartt to stay healthy and the young guys finally break out.
I like DJ Reed and Moore due to their versatility. I think both guys can play the other DB positions in the pinch. Reed at NB and Moore at FS. Tim Harris has an uphill battle to make the roster but sounded like he impressed in rookie camp(don't want to overreact to anything but he is talented…just hasn't had much luck on the injury front)
Also WR is going to be the toughest cuts.
The young guys we've been pretty excited about the last few years are on the chopping block. Trent Taylor, Kendrick Bourne, Richie James…no way all 3 make it. Trent was pretty clutch during his rookie season but after the back injuries didn't do much last year. He's a great guy but does he offer more than the other guys? I'm actually a big Bourne fan and hope he finds a spot on the roster. I think the ONLY locks at WR are Pettis, Deebo and Hurd. I'd like to think Goodwin is as well given how well he played with Jimmy to end 2017 but the reliability issues are concerning. Can't have a situation where the offense revolves around one player so much.
And what is everyone's thoughts on Hard Knocks?
From a competitive standpoint I understand why the coaches don't want it. I guess there have been cases where other teams have picked up things from watching Hard Knocks…but as a fan I'd love to see more behind the scenes stuff.

I'd replace Damontre Moore with Ronald Blair.
I'm hoping Pita can take the next step and replace Malcolm Smith. Also what about David Mayo? We signed him early in free agency which tells me he'll be a primary backup.
I'd love us to be on Hard Knocks.

The next few months will be fun to watch. Pre season games are a lot of fun to watch. They really do not that much mean much in terms of the season (lots of starters do not play and the playbook is super small), but I love to see the battles take place. You can already assume at least 40+ roster spots are locked, and then we get to see some guys step up and make it. Going from 90 to 53 is pretty crazy!
^ and I agree get rid of Smith. Such a waste… I do not care how much money we eat by doing that. Also I love trent taylor. Sadly this last season he didn't do much but his rookie season really impressed me. Hopefully all of his back issues are taken care of.

Team is getting a lot of hype like last year. Cowherd had us I think #9 and NFL Network morning show was talking about us as a playoff team.
Really doubt we’re doing Hard Knocks. Kyle would not be into that. And I’d rather not do it. I think one of the reasons the team is agreeing to a home game in China in 2020 is so that they can get a pass on Hard Knocks
For the roster, I would much rather have Jordan Matthews than Kendrick Bourne. Bourne has been so underwhelming.
I think Skule gets the swing tackle role and Magnuson makes the roster for interior depth.
No Sheldon Day?
Horny.

I may be higher on Bourne than most but he was our leading receiver when it was all said and done. Maybe not flashy but I think he's solid. Jordan Matthews was a prospect I loved out of college but he hasn't done that much to make me think he's got a long term future here. Bourne is still young and has decent size. Would I be shocked if he didn't make it? No. But I do like the curve of his career better than Matthews'.

I was a big Jordan Matthews fan when he came out of college but from what I understand, he's no longer that player. Injuries have done him in and that's the reason he's like on his 5th team.
I like Bourne a lot. Undrafted free agent who grinded his way on the roster. Yes he'll never be a #1 WR but I think his ceiling could be a #2. I've read that Kyle really wants to limit Goodwin's snaps so I have a feeling Pettis and Bourne will enter training camp as the starters. It will be up to Deebo and Hurd to supplant them.
The WR battle will be a bloodbath and someone good will be released and signed by someone else. Havent had that happen in a while.

I think only locks are Pettis, Deebo and Hurd due to age and draft position. I don't even think Goodwin is safe. He may be the best WR in the group now and gives that deep speed to help keep defenses in check but Kyle may see a guy who hasn't been super reliable, looking at taking another stab at the olympics and think one of the young guys is better off being kept around to groom.

Man…i was pissed at Rueben Foster for the chit he pulled but didn't want injuries to be the reason he fails with Washington.
As much as he screwed us I feel bad for the guy.
First practice, torn ACL and other damage. Absolutely hate seeing injuries but when they come in camp it's even worse. I still remember when we had the Crabtree injury in camps with the hype of the season coming up and it took such a fuking hit on the excitement for the season.
Wish you could wrap these dudes in a bubble at practice but it's the nature of the game…

I would love an offseason of no arrests and no major injuries. If we can go into week 1 with our biggest injury being a 3 week injury for Armstead it’d be beautiful.
Horny.

Thanks mfers for the jinx. I really hope this guy isn’t a walking injury and this is just rust needing to get knocked off.

Of course the "he's injury prone" brigade was fapping big time to the kid getting hurt.
I'd rather this chit happen now than in training camp or the season. We're a walking wounded right now 18 guys missing OTAs. Get healthy for when it matters.
But of course…i wish he didn't get hurt at all.

Let’s get all of the injuries out of the way now.
Nice to hear Sherman gushing over Jimmy. And Solly trying to win back our hearts.

Jimmy Ward is made of paper man. Sucks. Stop relying on this scrub “Swiss army knife”.

Cut Ward, never healthy and we have a bunch of other safeties. Dude is a walking injury, if he was healthy maybe he's decent but he never is…

I wanted to type I can't believe Ward…but at this point it's a surprise to nobody.
Still time for him to come back for the season but I was hoping Colbert would come back to look like the guy we saw late in his rookie season and win the job anyways.
And definitely hope Kyle is right that we have a change in luck where we were super healthy for OTAs in recent years and then the team got decimated by injuries once training camp/regular season started. Hopefully this year it turns the other way where we're beat up now but everyone is back by camp/season and we manage to avoid anything serious for the whole year.
I did have to laugh at all the Bosa haters who LOVED seeing him get injured during Tuesday's OTA practice. Most of those guys were either heavily pushing Josh Allen(like Grant Cohn) or Quinnen Williams. And what do you know, both of those guys are being held out of practice due to injuries as well.
It's almost like chit like that happens often to rookies?

Ward is made of glass. Im thinking the staff really likes Colbert, Tartt, and Harris as our safeties. Hopefully they give Moore a shot.

Who knows. Honestly I thought he was ok. I remember him getting killed against the Texans before he was let go. Could be a camp body and an extra because of ward?
