This was a tough week for trading, if you didn't make it, don't feel too down on yourself.

Edit: decided I’m not holding till next week. Sold my 4 puts at $2.20 that were acquired at $1.4 I bet tlt keeps going down in the next week or 2 but I think the loss of time on the options would negate any meaningful movement.

Lately seems like you just can't go wrong with tech stocks though, I just don't like the risk. I don't even daytrade.

1. Much less stress.
2. Much less time consumed.
3. You build up a big enough investment total and the annual returns match and beat those of day traders.
4. Passive income is always a win.
Also, you only hear about peoples’ wins. It’s proven over and over that the majority of traders and financial advisors, like almost all of them, don’t beat the market.

I mitigate risky options strategy by knowing how to manage the trade but also from using a very stable strategy.
The best thing to do for sure money is to buy dividend payers whenever they are cheap and build a huge base to sell CCs on.
Never sell your dividend payers, buy puts against them when you feel they are going to take a downturn and if you need cash, take out a loan instead of selling. I much rather buy stocks that pay me to hold them than stocks that run really high and really low while paying nothing for that pain. I buy calls and puts on NVDA but I buy VZ stock, this gives me the ability to participate in tech gains in a greater way than just buying the stock but with less risk(to me).
If you catch these div payers at the bottom then you make money three ways very easily, dividend payment, stock appreciation and selling CCs.

bonds down
yields up
dollar up
market up
rare as it gets.
the opposing force of market up is yields going up / dollar strength
but here it was today.
start of year rate cuts was 6 by wallstreet for this year
now its down to 4.5 cuts vs fed 3
gap has closed
however two good inflation reports and you will start hearing 50 bps cuts on table next month for May/June meeting .

Fed Funds rate was already mid 2% before COVID hit, entirely possible the neutral rate today is 3-4%

Bought a few 02/09 $705 Call Options around market open at $689 price point for NVIDIA. Then it fell into the lower $670's as anyone watching the chart would know. Dragging these contracts down to less than half my purchase price. But I held and held, seizing the moment towards the end today when it breached $694. +$450 not bad, but could've been way better if I timed the buy during the moment it reached the $670's. F.

I guess we will see. I really cannot fathom that their entire business is unsound and yet continued paying dividends to both common and preferred shares. Seems overblown.
