throughout the grand jury readout all you heard was justice being served for breonna's neighbors. why? because they didnt die. the same standard was applied to breanna because her death would have to be accounted for within the case for "wonton endangerment"
her health/well being was not accounted for, but somehow her neighbors were mentioned throughout. the system is rigged to high hell

Long story short. She was smashing a drug dealer who had drugs delivered to her home. As the cops close in on the drug ring, simultaneous search and arrest warrants were executed. One was for the girls house. She had a license gun owner over who was not involved (more than likely). Police knock and announce then go in with a battering ram. First cop in gets shot in the thigh and shoots back. Guy next to him shoots back. Taylor is standing next to shooter in hallway and gets smoked. Meanwhile an autistic cop watching the side sliding door starts cranking rounds off into the apartment.
No charges regarding Taylor's death. Autist cop charged for shooting through the apartment and into an apartment next door to Taylor almost striking three in the unaffiliated apartment.

Haven't logged into my account for 12 years. Been following Taylors case and Flyod.
Aus Police Pursuit policy -higher ups stopped purisuits altogether because the court deemed Police to be at fault for chasing stolen vehicles and the road behaviour of criminals. Then announced that to the public. What do you think happened? Crime went up, 'criminal road user behaviour' went to extremes and the force is still dealing with fallout/issues that come with teaching criminals are right and police is wrong.
Body cams just came in for all LEOs. People expected corrupt behaviour to be exposed and poor policing practises. All it did was improve convictions and reduce complaints. Lawyers hate them- there's no argument for them to make anymore. Police do have authority and people love to believe they abuse it daily. It's jusy not the case.
Disrupting drug trafficking is nearly impossible. Criminals get more and more sophistoicated and unfortunaly for a variety of reasons LEOs can not (funding for example). You take the abililty to enter on what you guys call a 'no knock' warrant and you will never find drugs again. Or you will find them when no one is there to catch a conviciton. High level drug trafficking is killing our society
My point is this- are LEOs ALWAYS right-no. Because a few LEO screw up doesn't mean every LEO screwes up. When you take powers away it takes years to see the ramifications.
And I understand the irony of posting this from account labelled 'Lebron' but he is the epitomy of what is wrong with society. People with large platforms and false information. To be 16 again

Funding is different everywhere.... and LA might have better air regulations for the chopper. But I agree car chasers are highly dangerous

Require body Cams for every officer. Severe punishment for turning off cams.
National database of fired officers. You get fired for cause you no longer can work in LE in the country.
Require continuing education. Too many cops misinterpret laws they enforce. ( even had a misc cop do it with me in a thread. He could have arrested someone based on his ignorance)
I want a 3 strikes and out law for what most would consider minor civil rights violations ( no such thing as minor)
I would like qualified immunity weakened pursuant to 1986 claims.
I would like sentancing laws rewritten that cops convicted of a crime on duty receive mandatory max sentences.
That's it. I don't want to abolish police.
I don't want to disarm police
I don't want to defund police.
I just want better police. Cause right now there is very little recourse for someone to be made whole from a wrongful police action. Police continue to misbehave because there are no consequences for their actions.

If the black criminal is resisting arrest and gets shot? No, there should be no charges.
In the case of Taylor.....her bf shot first. She was an innocent bystander and it is unfortunate that she was shot. But lets face it, she lived and dealt in a drug criminal world and if she hadn't? None of this would have happened. And as far as the cop shooting her? She was in a house where someone was shooting at the police and she was caught in the crossfire. It is sad yes.
Criminal? No.
And the DA agrees.

Secondly I am not just talking about police violence.
I'm talking about everything that's misbehavior. Even down to demanding ID when they are not legally entitled to it.

I don't want to disarm police
I don't want to defund police.
I just want better police. Cause right now there is very little recourse for someone to be made whole from a wrongful police action. Police continue to misbehave because there are no consequences for their actions.
The thing is if you weaken qualified immunity the knee jerk reaction is for all officers to behave in a 'safe' manner and 'my job is more important than my duty'. Less officers willing to have a crack and grab violent offenders. There is always inherent risk and if you weaken the 'good faith' arugment officers will do...well nothing until it that argument is tested in court.
I also love your take on mandtory sentencing for LEOs...but not for offenders? Do you understand how backwards it is when society rewards criminals with multiple chances of parole and misdeamours but you asking the punishment for officers to be higher? Extreme example but if a dead body is found in a police officers rental vehicle youd want them chsrged and locked up for sure...food for thought- maybe if taylor was locked up under a stricter standard shed be alive.
I just think its ridculous when an officer makes a mistake the book is thrown but when a CRIMINAL knowingly breaks the law due process is rewarded

Most LEO's have good intent, in my personal opinion knowing this guy, he wasn't one.

They often get a light sentence or no time at all when found guilty.
Because Police are not private citizens but agents of the government they are granted special powers. With special powers tho comes responsibility.
In the US military you lose certain rights under the constitution. (For example you commit a crime you can do military time after you get out of state prison)
It should be no different for cops.
