Really hope we come out looking even better after the bye week. Ironic thing is we've been kind of flat post bye weeks in recent history, like even with Harbaugh's teams the last time we had a win post bye week was in 2011.

Of course we've also sucked on the road on the East Coast and we took care of that trend earlier this year so hopefully we keep breaking the bad trends and setting new god ones.

Definitely a huge game for us not only in gaining some respect but just showing we can play in big games with a lot of attention on them.

Browns are dangerous and we're probably looking on the wrong side of some key matchups due to injuries.

Myles Garrett vs Justin Skule - clear mismatch for us. Probably a mismatch in the Browns favor when it's Garrett vs Staley. To say Skule will have his hands full is an understatement. Garrett can win with speed or with power…dude is a beast. Hopefully Skule meets the challenge but it will likely be with help from the scheming.

OBJ vs Emmanuel Moseley - it's possible we have Sherman shadow him and there's no guarantee OBJ lines up across from Moseley necessarily but I have a feeling at least to start the game we'll keep Sherman where he's at his best and it would be idiotic for the Browns not to put OBJ on the backup corner.

Keys to success in order of importance IMO.

1. Turnovers - we can't afford to give the ball away to such a talented team and we definitely need to create some on D to give our offense the ball more
2. DL play - I still don't trust our secondary especially without Spoon who IMO has been our best player back there this year. DL has to play their best game to date and shut down the Browns running game and rush Mayfield to force him into mistakes and not allow OBJ to get deep.
3. Run game - best way to help Skule and Jimmy is to run the ball well. Browns D hasn't been as good against the run so hopefully our guys show up and we keep Garrett thinking run so he can't just pin his ears back and rush like he can. If we can keep the chains moving and put up points via the run game that would open up things via PA and also keep the DL fresh and ready to do their part.

Really need to win this game cuz going to LA on a short week despite their game against Tampa is going to be tough and I'd love to go into that game 4-0.
Good post. I'm really worried about our secondary vs. Beckham with Witherspoon out. I'm sure he will have a couple huge plays I just hope they don't tear us apart back there.

I think our Defense will hold them to 21 points or so, I just hope our offense takes care of business. We can't have drops, turnovers, etc. we really need to take care of the ball. I agree that we need to run the ball and mix in play action and have to score touchdowns over field goals. We have the talent to win this one, just need to get out of our own way. And penalties, can't be stacking those up.

This is going to be crazy tense for me. We are watching this game as an office at a bar that night for our monthly "Lunch Club" meeting. My arch rival / nemesis is a huge Browns fan, so it's going to be crazy. I'm talking a LOT of **** too so I'm hoping they back it up. Excited for next Monday, this wait is killing me.

Honestly worried more about this game than the Rams. We play well against the Rams typically, I honestly count that one as a win before counting this one.

lol I don't know how you can say that given recent history of the two teams but I'd love to get both Ws.

I'm confident if we avoid turnovers our offense can move the ball on them. We may not be able to march down the field every drive because of their game changers and the Skule vs Garrett mismatch but Shanahan will have the offense ready to go.

The big question mark will be the shots in the foot plays. Can't have them. The scheme works but big drops on critical downs, balls popped up in the air, bad reads by Jimmy or bad throws can't happen. That's how you lose games.

Honestly nothing more frustrating than seeing a play that should go for big yardage or give you a key first down only to have the ball pop up in the air and right into the hands of the defender(unless it's our defense making those catches of course )

I did see a nice stat that said Browns D hasn't done great against 21 personnel(2 RBs, 1 TE sets)

"Just used @SharpFootball stats for breakdown of @browns
vs @49ers. As a team in 2018 and 2019 CLE has never defended against 21 or 22 personnel for more the 5% of all snaps. @Browns also give up 71% of passes out of 21 this year. Now facing the best 22/21 personnel in NFL"

As the tweet also says we are the best 21/22 team in the league much in part due to Juice and Kittle.

As I said before hopefully we rip them in the run game and get them biting hard on PA for big gains.

I'm also already hyped for this game. I wouldn't say nervous, but excited to see us face a team with so much hype and that is on the up swing. Landry may not be playing which is big if he doesn't in our favor, especially with Spoon out.

I'll be honest if we don't have a bunch of turnovers I see us winning. I like our pass rush and defense vs their run game, and forcing Baker into tough times, even with Spoon out. We have Bosa and Ford rested which will be huge. I think on offense for us we take care of the ball and we should be good. Shanahan will scheme it up right, just have to execute.

What would be ****ing awesome is if we actually have a sick crowd. Having a loud crowd would give us that extra boost but we'll see, I don't have much faith it will be crazy. That said, Brown are a east coast team coming west for a later game which could help us a bit. I also think our team hasn't drank the cool aid and have something to prove. I hope we can come out strong and carry that momentum all game. Super ready to watch this game and the wait is killing me.

Saw we got rid of Exum and promoted Harris.

I think Browns may be at their healthiest/best going into this game.

I think the extra day will give Landry plenty of time to clear concussion protocol. I expect him to play. I think Ward and Greedy Williams who were out last week will also be back which certainly helps their secondary. They're also getting Antonio Calloway back from suspension so we will have our hands full, especially without Spoon.

I think it will simply come down to who wins in the trenches.

If our DL does what it's capable of then we should be able to keep their offense in check whether shutting down the running game or pressuring Mayfield into some bad throws and disrupting the timing with his super talented WR group.

If our OL can handle their own vs their DL and we can establish a good running game and allow Jimmy to make key throws then we'll be able to move the ball and hopefully put up some TDs instead of FGs.

Turnovers will definitely be key in a game like this.

Crap Hurd and Verrett placed on IR.

We bring in Jordan Matthews and Dontae Johnson to take their spots.

Verrett just can't stay healthy but considering how he looked in his two snaps vs Pittsburgh maybe it's for the best…

Hurd going on IR sucks. I was looking forward to seeing what his size and versatility could bring to the WR group.

Now we have Hurd, Taylor, Verrett and Street on IR. Can only bring back two of them.

Taylor certainly had great chemistry with Jimmy and was the best WR in training camp before his injury and Hurd has the size and versatility that could be awesome in Kyle's scheme. I'd love to see both of them back but think it will end up being one vs the other which stinks.

Really need to avoid further injuries to key players.

I’d love Diggs and so would Shanny. But Sanders would be a lot cheaper. We can’t go into next years draft with no first rounder or second rounder.

I'd say Hurd and Taylor come back assuming we don't have any more injuries, those would be the guys I'd prefer to come back and I think offer the most help to the team.

Also Landry still in protocol as of today. Genus stop freaking out, even tho I know that's your thing. Niners got this.

Last time I didn’t freak out we lost to Chris Ponder in Minnesota. Never again

I think we should win but a lot of unknowns due to injuries and Cleveland has a lot of talent. Hope we play well and stop shooting our own feet.

I went into last night's game not sure who I wanted to win…but by the end of the game I definitely was rooting for the Rams.

Hopefully we keep playing well and end up winning the division regardless of what happens with Seattle and LA however if somehow we fall apart due to injuries or just some tough loses that push us out of the division race…or simply if Seattle is actually legit and they end up with a better record and we split our series. I'd definitely not rather go on the road to Seattle.

Going on the road to Seattle is just a sh*t show. So hard to win there, especially in division games where their fans get extra loud(god I wish we had the same atmosphere at Levi ) and as much as I want to hate that cornball they have at QB that dude is just really really good. That pass to Lockett was f*cking crazy. Him running around and making those big plays down the field is just a dagger to any good defense.

Gotta take care of our business and stay ahead of those teams. Monday night is super important and hopefully we're up to the task then get our first division W against a pissed off Rams team at their house.

This Seattle team doesn’t scare me. They’re good but they don’t have a suffocating defense. I trust Shanny to scheme open guys against that secondary. They have some good players in their front seven but that back end isn’t good. Wilson is playing lights out though. He can always pull something out of his ass at any moment.

Not scared of their defense but they do have some top notch players. Don't forget they're playing without one of their best DLmen right now with Jarran Reed serving a 6 game suspension…our luck is he'll be there for both of our games. Hopefully Staley will be back for then as well.

Only thing I fear about them is Wilson making his scramble drill plays(he'd be good for a few even against our elite defenses in the Harbaugh days) and their home field advantage.

R Wilson is underrated as much as I hate to say. Saw a stat this morning and his last 19 games he has 44 TD and 4 int. That's ridiculous. Dude always is able to get away from sacks and find a open WR.

Thank goodness Seattle hasn't really hit on there top draft picks. They've found some gems in the later rounds but their 1st and 2nd rounders have been brutal.

Anyways this division is wide open and I like our chances. Just got to protect the ball.

This, honestly think we have a better team than Seattle and LA. We are 3-0 despite a lot of penalties and turnovers. Maybe against tomato cans but still 3-0

Having to go through a full work day before seeing the niners play is cruel.

Can't wait for the game but fuk I'm nervous. Hate seeing the whole Pats and 49ers only unbeaten teams talk. We still have to play our game. Hopefully that statement is still accurate tomorrow morning and we take care of business.

I would feel so much better about this matchup if Spoon and Staley were playing

Hopefully I look foolish for worrying about this after the game.

I know the radio broadcast is a couple seconds ahead, but why hasn’t anyone created something to give it a delay so fans can sync it with the game? Do the networks not allow the radio stations to do it?

I really don’t want to listen to Booger tonight.

Boss and the D feasting. Run game feasting. Passing game needs to step it up and wtf with the FGs. Gotta capitalize on turnovers I want a beat down can't let up. Whole half to go gotta keep that pressure on em and score more points. Niners baby, great first half!

49ers look legit. Browns look terrible. 49er fans should be excited.

Looking forward to people saying this was more about the Browns being overrated than the 49ers being good. The longer we can be overlooked the better.
Horny.
