Not sure what the MM is, but Seiko Sumo 10000%. One of my favorite watches to wear. Should cost double what it does.

I havenโ€™t seen many Seikos that arenโ€™t worth double the asking price. The cocktail time is one of my favorite watches of all time, and itโ€™s one that I got many compliments on. The Sumo is 44mm. The Turtle is 45mm. Huge and true. Also

Seamaster vs. Black Bay?

I like both, but both have details that bother me.

I don't care for the exposed crown on the BB and the "little brother" shadow of the sub.

The seamaster is a beautiful watch but the design is almost dainty. I do not like the bracelet.

If you had to choose, what would you choose? Open to suggestions in that price range too

Saw this at a RedBar event. To all you rap fans out there the Rolex Daytona is the watch Pusha T named his album after.

Decided against both actually. I always had a soft spot for the Oris Aquis but the msrp was creeping up in a range where if I spent a few bucks more I could get a watch like an Omega or Tudor.

Long story short I was able to snag a mint pre owned one for $1200CAD, only issue is it's on a blue rubber strap. Having never spent more than $200 on a watch before it's easier in my mind to justify a purchase of $1200 and then $400 for the bracelet rather than $2000 upfront from a grey market seller, plus I have a spare strap now. Excuse the poor quality pic: IMG_20190219_133525.jpg

I really like the new SMP's. I have a 2254.50 and would love to add one of the new ceramics on top of that.

Black Bay has never done much for me. The Pelagos, on the other hand, is gorgeous and totally unique.

Are you set on spending that much for a luxury brand? Right now if I was looking at divers, the Oris Source of Life would be on the top of my list. I've worn Omega, Breitling, Tag, ect…. never gotten more attention and compliments with anything than my Oris Maldives gets.

. I've always considered myself a decent sized guy, I have fairly large hands, size 11.5 feet, 6' etc. I measured my wrist the other day and it's only 7". I don't think I could pull off a 46mm, as nice as the small second dials are.

Been looking for a training/smarter watch for a long time.
For a short while I had the Garmin Fenix 5S, but I wasn't convinced. It wasn't a comfortable daily beater and all around it was quite a lot of money spent on something which wasn't quite what I expected.

That is until I got intrigued to check out the market when I saw the Polar Vantage M, a new sensor design for OHR readings (heart rate) - too bad they basically released a beta watch which is still missing features.
I kept on looking and I saw that Garmin had actually released a new watch, the Garmin Instinct.

This is a watch that is by some called the G-Shock of training watches.
Not only is it waterproof as all the other Garmin watches (Fenix, Bravo, Vivo…), but it's also developed to be conformant with MIL-STD-810.

The design is very much improved over other competing watches. It's light (around 52grams), the material of the original band is much better than the original bands of Fenix 3HR and Fenix 5S.
Additionally the design here with the OHR sensor is made so that the sensor doesn't protrude and thus it wears very comfortably. The readings are also much more accurate and they read nice even while rowing and doing squats.
The screen is black/white and it's easy to read off, it also has back-lightning just like G-Shock watches with similar screens.

I'm part of the RedBar locally where I live and my clasp on my dad's Omega Seamaster Pro broke. It's a keepsake so I had to get it fixed. I got the bracelet and tried to replace it myself but I couldn't do it right. I took it to a local jeweler that is Omega Certified and they fixed it for me.

They even gave me a Omega Executive Pen!

Tried on my future watch…

Very nice pickup. I think the size looks good on you. The watches with the small bezels always wear deceptively large.

Looking into getting a used speedmaster professional in a few months. I remember a couple of years ago there was a discussion on whether to go with Sapphire or Hesalite.. Which one should I go for?

I prefer hesalite. I like how the crystal curves and the effect that has on the dial. Itโ€™s also more authentic IMO.

+1. Hesalite for the shape, authenticity, glow, and tiny Omega on the crystal.

Second. Thin-wristed guys can get the SKX013, which is identical but like 3mm smaller. The new Orient Mako/Ray II definitely has the better movement, though, and don't wear much different than the SKX007.

Also the SKX007 has a ton of options if you want to mod it.

If you plan on keeping the watch/passing it down, itโ€™s a nice customization. Otherwise, engravings other than those that are done in factory (rare) tend to devalue a watch. This includes watches that have an area made specifically for engravings, like the reverso.

Thanks guys.

Hesalite seems to be the way to go, I can find way more watches available used with heslite glass (3570.50) rather than the sapphire and for a better price.
Gonna be around $4000 + $400 (10%) in taxes.

I went into the Omega store here in Melbourne on Saturday to actually go look at a speedmaster IRL. Was kinda anxious since I've never been in a store like that but the sales guy was super cool and ended up talking for a bt about watches in general..
I was actually surprised at the price on a speedmaster professional brand new.. its only $6600. I'm used to everything in Australia being super overpriced I guess. lol

Gotta say tho the speedmaster was much smaller than and delicate than I expected it to be. From the online pics it looks much more rugged. I do save a very tiny wrist though.. just 6.5 inches in circumference.

Very nice.

Eventually I'm going to get the PO 2500 with the orange and get it refinished by Omega.
