While I do agree that downtowners kind of suck……I've been living in Etobicoke for the past 5.5 years for that reason, I still love Toronto and there is some good peeps in the city. If you're gonna hit the bars, stick to places in the Ossington area, or even further west rather than King West. I rather chill with hipsters than snobby "young professionals" or as I preffer to call them, spoiled ****s.

I looked at some new townhomes in the Long Branch area a few months back. Was expecting prices around $450K……jakes on me, they were closer to $750K. I was like:

As a young brah in his mid-20s, ayyy lmao @ affording a house in the GTA or anywhere livable on this planet. Jelly of all the homeowners and older folks getting dat appreciation on their home equities. At least my parents' retirement prospects are more secure I guess. As for me, probably gonna immigrate to the Moon soon.

Talked to my friends in Australia, apparently Aussies cannot tolerate Starbucks and definitely prefer to get their coffee from independent cafes. We're a little different, tons of young, impressionable people flock to SBUX. And the PATH's rental costs are too high for many independent cafes to thrive.

My exact area where my house is unless you come in with 1.2mil+ you're not getting a home. Only thing I can afford is like the lakeshore which can be iffy street to street.

Timmies is very Canadian with good prices and an addictive sugary coffee-like beverage. You can grab something quickly or hang out and chat with retirees, check Sports Select, play some scratch tickets, discuss who's going to win the Calder, etc. all before heading down to the legion for some pops. A friendly Filipino serves you.
Starbucks is cooler with the Uni crowd or the Hockey moms driving pseudo-luxury Korean SUV's. You can "pay it forward", buy the next person a latte and post about it on social media for the feels. You can walk around with the cup as a status symbol. They're also embedded in a lot of grocery stores and book stores. It's more Macbook friendly. Here you can check out JT's latest tweets or discuss the various American social problems you're rustled about that don't actually exist in Canada. A Mesoamerican history graduate student "barista" serves you by name.
