Got my power back on last night. Very happy. Still no internet or cable because down here in Naples we get the signal from comcast up in fort myers. But I’ll survive.
Electricity is king.

Good luck to all my Florida peeps.

Good luck bro. When all this is sorted out we can grab a pie at Grandpas.

I have friends in Sarasota that never lost power. Doesnt really make sense cause sarasota is south of me. My brother in Orlando ~ 2 hours away lost power 20 minutes after I did
Stay safe.
Just got word from parents' friends SW of Sarasota, besides losing power they lost a couple of shingles. Apparently they set out to check on my family's home but after wasting a couple of hours getting stuck on impassable roads they got turned around by police.
Finally my parents' neighbor answered a text simply saying the house is fine.
The whole area is without power so I feel for people (including a bunch of my parents' friends) that actually live down there and don't gave generators or a way to get out of their neighborhoods. This is just north or right on Tamiami

Have lights, internet, 2 fridges going, just about everything but AC & hot water. Have a 4400 watt generator with a 30 amp plug backfeeding into panel, the Keurig works but tripped it twice.

Might have to do one of those whole home generators, just wish I had natural gas here so didn't have to do one of those big ugly propane tanks.

But really can't complain compared to the SW Florida brahs. Tampa got damn lucky (Seminole protection spell!). Still though, hope I get power back today. Power company sent generic text to all customers yesterday saying Sunday for majority with the 'hard to address cases' being monday.

Lost a few big oaks and 1 cypress. Nothing fell on house.

get the solar panels man, you can get the ones that get you the 40 amper ones. and incase the battery dry up yo ucan switch to your 30 amp generator

btw ..why do you need more than 30 amps?

My house doesn't have natural gas there, so I have an electric instant hot water heater that draws 80 amps. 3 AC units, none of them worked while it was out. Didn't try it, but was fairly confident that the Microwave would draw more than 4400 watts.

If I had hot water, and AC, i wouldn't complain.
jeez 80 amps for the water heater? i remember the navien isntant electric heater is like 4amps @ 400 watts but you need a gas connection for it to work .

you ac units are they window or split ?
