***Hurricane Ian and Tampa***

EVerything is obviously subject to change, but man i would hate to be there right now trying to figure this stuff out. This also looks to stall a little which will dump some rain. Here are some new model ideas:

GFS is parking it over you

ICON saying **** you too

winds will suck, but surge and rain will ruin your life

this angle of approach brings in big surge into the bay

next gfs is at 1:45..it is going to nudge east more..it is that damn western shear that is obviously too mu8ch for the eastern shear to handle. this is insane for tampa.

looks like the tampa shield may be deactiviated. the models have completely crossed over from where they were so who knows what happens. once 72 hours out happens, then hopefully they can figure it out.
TVCN is showing a north of tampa hit but close enough to fill the bay with surge.

HWRF looks to bomb out, but miss everything until it gets shredded by shear with hopefully less impact.

Parents have a home outside of Tampa, hoping for no damage. They're up north for now.

Moved here last year and this will be my first FL hurricane. I'm more inland and east of 75 so I'm not very worried though.

St Pete checking in. If you know the area, John's Pass was formed by a hurricane in 1848. We are due. A couple years ago when Irma rolled through Polk county, a friend of mine Denise said it sounded like a high speed train running nonstop.

All the locals should post in this thread until their power is cut, house gets flooded, and 150 mile/hr winds tear off their roof. This thread can be a remembrance of them.

yea with irma i remember leaving our place to travel to jacksonville. then supposedly it landed at/ near sarasota but a pocket formed and barely did anything. meanwhile jacksonville was hit harder. we left in 3 days back to our place and everything was fine. meanwhile in jville they didn't have power for 2 weeks

i do remember the sound of it being consistently howling
