I may sell my SkyD & 126710BLNR (I also have a Hulk I may sell too) all purchased at retail and jump into an all gold 15400OR with blue dial and call it a day

Yeah that is super nice, and Rose Gold is the way to go IMO if you're going all precious metal (or white gold).

Have you considered a 15202 RG? It's pretty sick, although I don't know what the availability at the AD is. The grey market isn't too crazy yet.

They then proceeded to fuk it up by making the teak horizontal. Looks terrible, IMO.

tried on the 15202BA (yg, blue dial) but it was too dainty for me

Lol I was at an AD last week, Omega rep was going on and on about how much better the new horizontal looks, almost like he was trying to convince himself of it.

Have you tried on an AP? They wear much larger than the specs would suggest. My wrist is about 6.75" and I'm considering picking one up in 39mm or 38mm chrono.

yeah an AP 38 will wear like a 40.

I get the 15202 feeling dainty though, as it just isn't the size, its the thinness of the watch that makes it feel dainty as well.

Its not really the deposit lol. The deposit is about 6100 (25%). I told the ROO to a client and am letting him pay me 2k a week for 6 weeks. So yes, that is just some change.

anyone part of the "Real Watch Buyers of Wholesale Watch Club" ******** group? it's a group for dealers to buy/sell/trade with each other. Can find many examples of any watch with just a post in there for prices a little less than market.

Man, I think I need a cigarette after visiting my AD.

Go in, chat the guy up, and the conversation actually goes really well. Probably bullchit for a solid 45 minutes and try on the oyster perpetual. I liked it, but the dial didn't hit me like the explorer did. So apologized for wasting time but the guy actually made me feel decent and said stop by anytime because they just get the BS "hey you got any xxxx" and get pissed then walk out. Said the conversation was great and he definitely hopes to have an explorer in soon but not sure when.

Now…to the cigarette part. About 10 minutes I look down in the case and think "wait what…" Had a nice, shiny yellow gold/SS band black face Daytona in. A few mins later we started talking about it and I said I was shocked to see it, then he asked if I wanted to try it on. Absolutely blown away with how good looking the watch was even if it wasn't my taste (don't really get into YG). And after seeing it on the wrist I was also pleasantly surprised how small it wore. Tough one to put back down! Sticker was 16.5, and I joked that if it was SS I'd be going to the bank. Gorgeous watch.

told you man. the guys at the boutiques find it refreshing when they're dealing with informed buyers on the fence rather than rude fuks that happen to have 60K to blow. glad it was a pleasant experience, sorry about the daytona blueballs though lol

No kidding. I was shocked at how forthcoming the guy was with just general info, let alone seeming like he didn't want to let me leave AND just immediately saying "want to try it on???" when I made the comment about the Daytona. He mentioned it was the first they've gotten in a little over a year. Sitting there looking at that thing on my wrist was just nuts. Like I said, it wore shockingly small for as busy of a watch as it is and how "bulky" it looked to me in pics. I felt like if it was a regular SS (white or black face…no racist I promise) I would've been compelled to purchase it and totally understood why people lust after it.

Daytona crew. Mine has an interesting story.

I was home from college and my Dad just bought himself a Breitling. I commented on how nice I thought it was so he just took it off, and said, "Here, have it." I laughed and declined while my mom said, "Why don't you just give him the watch you got him?" So he goes to a safe and pulls out a cream colored box with a crown on it and I knew it was a Rolex. Inside was the green box and I opened it and thought it was going to be a datejust or something. Nope, stainless, black face Daytona because he knows I like cars. Coolest gift ever.

That's been my experience as well with just about every dealer I've been to. The coolest was a retail shop in Vegas (Venetian/Palazzo mall). Walked in just browsing and really only knew a little more than the difference between a Seiko and a Patek. My wife and I spent the better part of 2 hours in that place. I learned a lot that day and discovered the Zenith Bronze Pilot Type 20 that I'm still lusting over.

Yup. I was blown away because it "looks" really busy and big in pics. I didn't want to take it off knowing the history, value, looks, etc. It was shockingly gorgeous and not busy or big. If it was SS, i would've said screw the exp and box this up. More than I would've wanted to spend, but you couldn't let that opportunity go by if it's there.

I was definitely suprirsed. Half the time was on watches and dealers. He commented on my Longines and said they would love to be a dealer with the horse racing in town (longines is a huge sponsor), but longines just had too ridiculous of a buy-in for them to justify it. Something like 50K in inventory up front and you had to stock a certain set of watches. Some of which they didn't think they would move at all. The other half was on podcasts we listened to. LOL

I could definitely see this after it being on my wrist. This one was super comfy, but it definitely didn't seem like a 40mm.

I've never seen a black one in person, but in theory I would guess the black wears larger because the dial blends into the bezel. No real idea though. I have a GMT and they both wear very similarly to me.

Back when I had an explorer II black and than I switched to a white dial, it did feel bigger.

Not a crazy purchase, but just bought a used Tissot Heritage Visodate for $250. Such a clean design, and it's hard to beat the value for the $$$ (especially with the Sapphire crystal). Also ordered a 20mm English Tan Horween Band so I can wear it casually. Maybe one day I'll be able to join the ALS/AP/PP Club, but I'm a poor as fuk medical student at the moment, so I take what I can get…..
