I had a PAM320 that I wore on the rubber and really liked but traded it for something else. For me, it has to have the 1950 case. Not a fan of the standard case or the radiomirs.

I think a couple are from strap code and gekoda(sp?). It's the goofy 21mm lug width so you have limited selection.

90% sure I'm pulling the trigger on my "Go anywhere. Do anything" watch late october. I've noticed that I ALWAYS start eyeing up some of the lesser purchased Rolexs. If there's anything that kills the potential to buy them though, it's that the ones i want only come in 38/39mm. 40mm is really as low as i feel comfortable going before the dials start looking silly against my frame. The Oyster Perpetual vs the Aqua Terra:

Aquaterra all the way.

And not comparing the two, speaking to watches in general that show the guts..not my cup of tea.

I also cant stand unnecessary complications. every guy i see wearing a yacht master 2 i laugh at. Even daytonas…they are visually appealing but whens the last time you you used your mechanical watch chrono to time something??

I use my chronograph function daily actually. I may be one of the few. When I start a task for work I run it to keep myself in a time block of only "30min or 1 hour for this task"

If i'm meeting a tinder date, i start the watch to just know how much earlier i am than she is. brb "oh don't be too mad, i was only a few minutes late.", "actually you were 14 minutes and 27 seconds late", "omg you are ridiculous… what kind of watch is that?"

When I'm whitening my teeth at night (2 to 4 times per week) I start it because i'm supposed to keep them on 30 minutes to an hour.

I also work from home, with ton of my clients and colleagues who work in london/paris so GMT functions are really helpful as well. (Sky dweller is my dream piece). Who are all these weirdos hating on watch complications? The only truly worthless complication is the ********** (lol at the t.ourbillon compliacation being blocked out).

Also, as much as I LOVE the no date submariner, I welcome sights of the Yacht master just simply because i'm so fuking tired of hearing about Subs, Royal Oaks, and Daytonas. I am leaning toward the Aqua Terra though, I think the rolex does the grey better, but Omega does that deep blue better. Also I'd be able to enjoy wearing the Omega daily as a nice watch that casuals would know is a nice watch, but i wouldn't have to deal with the "is that real? / how much did you pay for it?" questions if I bought the rolex.

I'm gonna go try on the Oyster Perpetual in store just to give it a fair chance but quite certain im going with the Blue Aqua Terra. After I get either next month, my next one is DEFINITELY gonna be the Omega Grey Side of the Moon. Never seen one in the wild but i've seen them in person and the platinum speckled dial with the lumed Tachymeter bezel is the tits. Love me a good chrono.

That reminds me of a Tim Mosso youtube video I was watching regarding the Aqua Terra. He said something along the lines of "if the aqua terra didn't have the teak deck dial it would probably fall flat and be too sterile for most buyers, but the texture gives it just enough pop". That's probably what's happening when people put on the OP. As nice i'm sure the colors look in person, the wrist presence is probably a tad boring whereas the Aqua terra has that tiny bit of flare via the teak deck.

I do like the blue face OP, but the Omega's to me are a better choice at that level. Then again, aren't the Omega's well over 40mm? Yes I could look it up. But this is a forum. lol

Agreed. Better wrist presence, better power reserve, similar brand clout, $1000 to $2500 cheaper.

Omega wins in the size department too. Aqua Terra comes in 38mm and 41mm. OP is 36mm and 39mm

Oh damn. Didn't even know that. The longines dealer I got mine at also is an omega dealer. Will have to keep that in mind. That blue face day/date combo is a beaut.

Keep this thread going boyos, only reason I misc anymore is the frag thread so more content needed.

I’m considering picking up an Omega as a milestone watch when my first born comes in 2020. See if I can get that past the wife.

What’re people’s opinions on the newer Rolex explorers? I have a vintage one from my grandfather, I’ve always wanted a new one to pass on to my grandkids the same way he did but I’ve never actually seen the newer ones in person.

Rolex dabbled in quartz in the 70s, this may be one of those versions, not necessarily a “fake”
