The reason I'm worried isn't as much our "struggles" vs mobile QBs but that in conjunction with what the Ravens have done since their bye week. I mean we're talking insane production.
I saw a stat something like they've only punted twice in their last 3 games and both of those drives had RG3 in as QB.
Really what they did against the Pats is the craziest thing. As talented as they are and how well they're coached, especially to play within the scheme and to get beaten like that shows me the Ravens are for real.
We'll see what happens of course and any given Sunday applies. We're a talented team of our own but this is a game we may miss Kwon the most with all the multi TE packages Ravens love to use.

So much doom and gloom ITT
Those 3 weeks of Murray and Wilson they averaged 207 yards passing against us and that is heavily inflated by that fluky 88 yard TD by Isabella. They averaged 53 yards rushing in those games. 260 yards a game from those QB’s inflated by a long fluky TD and a full OT. Really not struggling.
I want to see them play 10 in the box, contain the edges and let Tartt spy him. We’re the only team Baltimore will have faced that can create a ton of pressure with 4 guys (hopefully Ford is back). If we can get to him with 4 and he’s spied with a safety we can make him struggle. He’s gonna make some plays but we can force turnovers with our zones.

at some point you have to throw your base/standard D out the windows and play "madden type of game"
back in the day when Peyton was Peyton pats used to rush 1 to 3 guys and everybody was covering receivers

I like the idea of 9 and 10 in the box…however, as said before, better be good tacklers. Kid is big, and if you misread who is taking the ball, goodbye. He gets passed that first wave and it’s a serious gain.
Agree. He won’t look like that against us but he is going to look much better than Murray, run or pass.
I am most concern with injuries. Losing this would be a hit to the momentum, but playing a physical battle and then heading to NO while they are coming off a long layoff. With Thursday game and it’s a recipe for a back breaker.
Come Monday, I’m a big Vikings fan. One of the biggest you’ve ever seen…been a fan, since Monday. Then Tuesday they can fuk off.

For sure rooting for Vikings this week, and any team Seattle plays always.
As for defensive game plan I think they don't need to change up anything really, you don't want to over think it. Rush 4 and with DJ Jones we're better vs run than without him. I think you just need to play contain on edges on run downs and try to get to LJ on hopefully 3rd and long.
Personally I know the design QB runs are tough to stop as we watched Kap do it so well, but we always struggled against Seattle and we have a strong defense similar to those teams back in the day. Along with that we all know Greg Roman is going to go into his "big game" strategy and probably **** it all up for Baltimore anyway. So I'm banking on that lol.

No Staley, ford or Breida. Not concerned at all with no pettis.
Curious how the weather will affect the game. I’d love to get this W but won’t be too discouraged if not…next week is the one that matters the most.

Picture perfect start
Touchdown opening possession on critical 4th down
Stopped them on their first drive with no demoralizing chunk plays, and solid containment

Another tough loss in a game we could’ve won. Some questionable calls and another bad turnover on offense.
I didn’t expect us to win this one but having it be so close hurts. Have to wonder what happens if we run on 4th and 1.
Have to get healthy(we just can’t avoid injuries) and then win the rest of our games including another huge game vs the Saints.
We control our own destiny. Win out and get #1 seed. Have to get it done. But if we”re healthy and not hurting ourselves I think we can beat any team and anywhere….but homefield and a bye for a team who hasn’t had one since week 4 is HUGE.
Let’s get it.
Oh and Go Vikings!

Terrible timeout management all game and the possession right before the end of the first half cost us the game. When will we learn that playing veteran coaches with Lombardis under their belt, its a ****ing chess match and every possession matters. Also why did we continue to try and force the throw when the run game was open all game long. ****ing reminds me of the superbowl when we lost to them and decided to abandon the run at key times. Same ****, different day. Now we're 10-2 and second in the division.
I see so many Niners fans irl ready for the superbowl and I keep reminding them that we may not even make the playoffs with a loss to Ravens and Seattle again. Gotta be a realist.

How did we not run it on 4-1 both of those times? Terrible decisions.
10-2 and with a Seattle win tomorrow night they take the division

We still control our own destiny. We win out and we’re the top seed. Sucks that one loss close or not drops us from #1 seed to #5 seed but let’s at least wait til tomorrow night to panick.
Seattle loses tomorrow night and we’re back to #1 seed.
Either way as long as we keep winning we’re in control. All pocket passers in our future until Seattle game. Much better matchup for us.
Just have to avoid injuries and we’re ok.

I see no way in hell we lose to Atlanta or Rams at home unless we’re decimated by injuries. Which obviously impacts everything.
We’re making the playoffs but may not get a bye week if we don’t win our division which will certainly come down to week 17 unless Seattle loses a few before that game(I wouldn’t mind that)

Awesome game and loved it. I watched it in a New Orleans bar with fans all rooting for BAL.
Drunk and at the Pels game so can’t give mic feedback. We can play with anyone. No one is safe. I love is next week. What can we get for Gould? He’s as good as whatever we can pick up and in to keep chase if there is a monetary gain. He’s complete trash this year…tough conditions but he’s sucked all year to a point it’s mental now. Fuk off Gould.

I’m not a moral victory guy at all, but we played that gimmick to the end..with little prep and conditions. We will absolutely beat them in a rematch, as far as I’m concerned.
JG played well. The run game was killer. I hate the fourth calls but I can’t go against Kyle. He has us here. Great game and we didn’t get it. We can beat anyone man…anyone. This is a hell of a team, but we need to capitalize. It sucks JW and AA have been been (borderline) disappointments until this year and now huge playmakers. Hopefully they understand that take discounts.
Warner tho? Shout out. Fukn beast.

Obviously I'll stay optimistic but likely we play the Ravens if we can make it to the SB.
Let's see how we do against the Saints. Their Run D has been pretty good.

Half our fanbase are scrubs and it kills me. Team is 10-2 and both losses came down to a field goal we missed and they made but yet Jimmy is trash and Kyle is trash. I can’t deal with some of our fans anymore.
How does one go about blaming Jimmy with that fumble? All QBs fumble the ball when sacked every now and then. It’s just part of the game. To me we lost with that 4th and 1 play call. I can’t get too mad about it because that aggressiveness got us a TD earlier and hindsight is always 20/20. Also kind of irked about the defensive ends not containing Lamar. Arik Armstead in particular was cracking down so hard on the running back giving Lamar huge holes. Not sure why Saleh allowed that to happen.
Fact is we played a great game on the east coast against the hottest team in the NFL in crap conditions. Onto New Orleans.

Twitter is a cesspool for idiocy and our fanbase has that in spades unfortunately. We have some really good fans who know their sh*t but we also have morons who see a QB fumble in the rain when getting hit from behind in the first quarter while we're up 7-0 and then attribute the loss to him because of that. Because there wasn't 80% of the game left to play after that.
You won't find many QBs putting up huge numbers in those conditions.
And yeah I don't understand some of our decisions in that game. We were clearly selling out to stop their running backs with our DL and letting the linebackers/DBs try to handle Lamar. It was CLEARLY not working but I don't think we really made many adjustments.
But as bad as it looked we kept that offense who has been crushing everyone to 3 points in the second half. Who knows if the rain hurt them or it hurt us, fact is we kept them to their worst half this season at their place but still lost the game.
Baltimore is a hell of a team and they made plays on their end. I haven't gone back to rewatch it myself but even the 4th down play I heard that Kittle was open on the play. Baltimore just made a great play to bat the ball down. The defender misses the ball and we're still driving probably and nobody is blaming Kyle for that call. It sucks but it happens. Sometimes you can have a great call/play dialed up and the defense just makes a play.
I do wonder if Tartt doesn't get hurt if he makes a play on Lamar on that last drive. Marcell Harris made a great play to recover the fumble earlier but he badly misplayed Lamar on I think the 4th down play. Their guys made the play against us. We couldn't do the same. That's how it goes sometimes.
If we're lucky we'll see them again this year. Although if we're really lucky we'll be playing the Patriots as I trust our D much more against Brady.
Right now we have one goal - win out. We need that bye week so bad. Honestly teams having a bye during week 4 should not be allowed. That's way too early in the season.
I'll be curious how we do against the Saints. They haven't looked as impressive lately but they're getting a mini bye waiting for us at their house. It's never easy to play there but I'm glad Brees is a pocket passer. I hope our DL takes out their aggression against him. Because their D is pretty impressive, especially vs the run. If we win this game I think we're in great shape.
Anything can happen but if we win vs the Saints I'd be shocked(assuming we're healthy) that we're not 13-2 heading into Seattle week 17. Not the way we've played at home vs non mobile QBs.

So i watched 3/4 of the game and wasn't as pessimistic as some here either b4 the game was played or after.
I was running errands in that lousy rainy weather( DC burbs) trying to get home by 1 and it fkn sucked ass!
We were 4-12 last year and we played 2 teams down to the wire and lost by 3 points in each game. We are improving and trending in the right direction no matter what happens. The glass is half full people…… not half empty, so clear your mind!

Damn…Vikings no help last night.
We've officially moved from #1 seed in the NFC to #5 which is criminal.
Good news is we control our destiny still - we just have to take care of our games and we don't have to worry about anyone else. We win and we're back to #1.
Bad news is two of the games we have to win are against teams with only 2 loses at their house.
Starts Sunday with the Saints. Hopefully we rebound in a big way and have another statement game then keep the momentum going.
I like our matchups against Atlanta and LA unless we get very sloppy with the football. Then it's down to the big dance in Seattle.
Have to get over our nightmare struggles in Seattle at some point. We've broken a lot of bad streaks this season. Let's add this one to the mix. We need that bye week. The team can really use the rest. I'm confident we can win on the road as a wild card team if it came down to it but the bye week is more about getting healthy for the final push.

He lost one fumble in a thunderstorm. The fact that that was the only turnover against a good defense on their home field should be a positive.
Except I forgot all of these brand new 49ers fans want flawless QB play from a guy that has played 23 games in his career.

He's had ball security issues all year, that's a fact. Yeah it's good that he limited to 1 turnover but still a turnover. Had 3 in the big game vs Seattle
There's nothing wrong with being critical of Jimmy G. He's been playing ok, good at times. But you guys are getting a little homer for him at times
The whole counting his NFL starts thing has to stop it makes us look retarded. No one cares at this point, he's starting on a playoff team, his expectations have risen
I think this Saints game is very winnable. They are just not a scary team this year. I think we light Brees up with 5+ sacks

We can beat New Orleans handily. Their offense isn’t what it used to be and we have the ability to stop their main two guys. Sherman can play Thomas tough and we have the speed in the front seven to keep up with Kamara. Offensively we get back Staley and Breida.
It hasn’t been talked about much lately that the Saints D hasn’t been near what it was early in the year. They have some players but it’s not as talented as our D. I’m confident in this game.

Horny.

Saints will score but the defense will get to him more often than not

It’s okay to be critical of Jimmy, but the guy had one fumble in terrible weather on the road where he was getting sacked by multiple dudes. It happens. Happened to Rodgers against us on SNF on the first drive and the ball wasn’t slippery for him.
“Nobody cares.” I do. Because I know Jimmy hasn’t had a lot of game reps in his career. I know he’s going to get better over time. So I don’t expect him to play like an all-pro just because the team is playing great. You have wild expectations like a lot of the average fans do where now because the team is the #1 seed you expect them to be elite every game, every play.
We have above average QB play for the first time in a long time and people still aren’t happy. It’s cringe.
Horny.
