Because they never made the model you have. That bracelet style is called a gold nugget bracelet. Rolex has never made one as far as I know.

I'm moving halfway across the country and my friend wanted me to have his watch. I think I'll always hang onto it. It's the stories, boyos.

1. The bracelet
2. The fact that its quartz (rolex produced very few "oysterquartz" models, in some very select cases)
3. The printing on the dial, this takes some experience to discern
Here are some pictures for reference.
Here is a real one:
At best, this is a franken, an original watch that may have been redialed, possibly customized by a jeweler, and fit with a generic quartz movement.
Edit: the model they were going for with that watch was likely the 3807. Have you tested the gold case for purity?

Need some input boys. Currently debating between a Longines hydroconquest and the oris aquis date. Is there any other brand in that price range I should consider?

Put in a order at my AD for a Z-blue milgauss, of which I was told it was placed as of Monday.
I heard that stainless steel rolex are hard to get, even by AD and could take a couple months to be fulfilled.

If anyone is interested, I have two pretty new watches for sale. One is a Tag Gulf Monaco, and the other is the new Omega Speedmaster Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon. Both were purchased earlier this year at a local AD.
I'll give my miscers a good deal if anyone is interested.
PS: Man….what happened to the MISC? When I started this crew, we were going through 10,000 posts like every three months. I see this one is at around 5.5K posts after four years?

just added the jubilee batman to the collection, love it. DJ still my go to dress watch though because it's more lowkey. Neither watch really gets enough wear so the date is never right

Blue dial rolex with cyclops date, fluted bezel, AND jubilee bracelet… "lowkey". I was like laugh out loud. You said neither gets much wear. What's your daily driver then?

Haha, got me there. It definitely gets noticed a lot but it's more lowkey than the batman for sure
. Was interviewing last week and one of the directors complimented me on the DJ and we had a quick chat about watches since he has a hulk/batman

I don't really wear watches on the daily, but I do have a JLC ultrathin moon or an apple watch that I'll wear occasionally. Can't do the metal bands with an office job imo

My collection is getting out of hand. I've got waaaayyyy too many. Been gathering a ****ton of WWII military watches, I can pretty much start my own war museum now. I think I've got about 200-250 watches in my personal collection, mostly WWII military

I totally forgot about you, Kabananga. Maybe it's time to finally pull the trigger on my first vintage Omega
I'll have to check your sales posts out again. Glad I got half my mug of coffee left.
