omg, I'm about to buy this G Shock GA2100. Saw a pic of it on IG and it gives off AP vibes bc of the octagonal bezel and it's thin (11.8mm height), unlike other G Shocks which I am not a fan of. And for $99, it's great value
https://www.gshock.com/watches/analo...tal/ga2100-1a1

I'd def go with the all black one though, there's an all red one and it looks cheap and trashy.

getting sick of my lum tec b35. dont know why but just not loving it anymore. thinking about selling and going with something else similar… oris makes some decent ones but 40mm was the model I liked and is a bit too small for my wrist.

daily driver for work, I'm in construction management so it would have to be office/field friendly. not looking to spend big bucks on something I could smash against something and break. any suggestions?

Could be interesting. Glashutte Original has some sport models that might appeal to you.

I was cruising around on Nordstrom rack's website last night. They have a few nice Hamilton and Tissots on there. I did zero research on price so not sure if it's competitive or not.

Can someone give me a price range to aim for when looking for a vintage Oyster Perpetual? Prices seem all over the place, and Iโ€™d really like a โ€œstarterโ€ Rolex.

They've got some divers that appear to be nice, but the only Glashutte i would personally pickup is a Panomatic Lunar.

As far as the A&S release, i'm just hoping it's as cool as a rolex sky-dweller. that's the bar i've set for it. Coolest watch rolex has released probably in forever, yet any sky-dweller that's not a blue dial can be picked up for damn near retail. The hype trains are real.

I go to Boston a lot for work, was just there 2 weeks ago actually. Wish I would have known about it earlier, would have considered attending.

Boston is a beautiful city and great for watch shopping. EWC has some of the best dress watch selection i've seen in NA and great to deal with. Toronto sucks for watch shopping, all that is sold second hand are AP's and Rolex.

Name your price point and go from there. "you get what you pay for…." As you've already figured out, prices are all over the place. Also, vintage is a minefield if you don't know what you're doing.

Is it a Royal Oak or Nautilus killer? Not even once. Did it reach my bar of "Make it at least as cool as a Sky-Dweller"? Mmm nope on that too. However, i commend them for not just copying another Gerald Genta integrated bracelet design and doing something entirely their own. By A&S standards i'm a bit indifferent to it, but will keep my mind open to see actual wrist shots.

Realistically speaking, in about 2 years time one would probably be able to find this watch on chrono24 pre-owned for $22,000. I don't see it depreciating much as it's A&S sole steelsports offering. Regardless i'd still grab a black skydweller over it for that kind of coin.

Fellow Lum-Tec owner checking in. Ive had this one 9 years and love it now just as much as the day I bought it. I've had a couple others but sold them as well. The Combat B3 is a keeper, it looks great on any strap.

Always dig the fatty hands on pilot watches.

This. I'm a total noob with Rolex but have definitely seen wild swings on the same vintage watch.

Speaking of OP's the OP with the Rhodium dial is really starting to grow on me whilst waiting for my Exp 1. Maybe a good excuse to visit the AD again and say hi. Also to see if they *still* have the OP that was originally in the case.

I disagree. Ulysse Nardin models are ugly. Most Royal Oak Offshores are ugly. This… this is painfully underwhelming. I wanted something intriguing and cool. a Lange1 redone as a steel sports. An A. Lange "Sky-Dweller" perhaps. This is a MF'ing $30,000 A Lange & Sรถhne Aqua Terra with an uglier (albeit more functional) bracelet and i'm thoroughly irritated. I'd rather they had gone out on a limb a made something truly repulsive.

Thanks brah. Any recommendations on resources to check out for evaluation of vintage pieces?

Maybe TRF vintage section or Kabananga here (OP of this thread). I don't personally know enough to give any advice. I've thought about picking up a vintage piece for myself, but the more I learn, the more I realize I need to keep learning.

Good to know, thanks. Yeah, I've been coming to the same conclusion as well. I may just wait a little longer and grab an Aqua Terra Day-Date. They're hnnnnnnnngggggggg.

Everything is kind of dying down slowly. Even on new SS watches ive seen the craziness drop down. Do I have 16K to drop on a batman, yep. Am i doing to do it, nope. Because it's just dumb to pay 2x for a watch.

Speaking of vintage. I saw this pic of a vintage cartier tank(??) and was like "yoooooo i'm totally stealing that" lol. I've always thought them too dainty and thin but if you pair it with a douche-bracelet, it makes the cartier almost look like a second layered bracelet. Not gonna lie, this looks pretty swaggy.

and the thing that just BLOWS my mind, is that the one watch Rolex put out that IS worth a price hike due to horological uniqueness is the Sky Dweller, and THAT is the one rolex you can get at damn near retail prices. Everything else is herd-mentality hype.

Exactly. Only an idiot pays the 18K for a BLNR. (honestly not bragging here) Have damn near 6 figs in the bank right now, so i could easily go buy what i wanted. But it's the principle here.

Now, funny thing is, ive really noticed many of these watches come back to earth. Jubilee batman's are starting to show up at 13.9. Vice balls deep 18-19K. I get Rolex keeping their brand solid/wantable and keeping the value 10/10. I really like the idea of buying an Exp 1, and in a year, or 2, or 3, when the dealer calls about another watch, i can buy that and probably sell the Exp for damn near what i bought it (if not more). Reason im really thinking about walking into the AD next week after my Doc's appointment, if he says no surgery, and shooting the chit, and then being like "well what would you let the OP go for?" Buy it, and flat out say i want to know when your next Sub or batman shows. Because i know i could sell the OP for pretty much what i bought it a year later.

I want a BLNR bad. I refuse to pay the insane secondary market mark up though. I would be fine buying at 11. But **** the 15-18k numbers right now, ridiculous.

I'm in the same boat. A *little* bit of a premium is not bad, but 2x…nope. However, like i said they have been slowly falling. BLNRs were regularly posted on TRF for 18+ this summer. No there are a few for 13.9.
