I think he's referencing the second one. No way a 300m would go for 2900.

It's the summer dip brah, watches sell for chit at the moment, if you can wait another month (or two), you'll sell it much easier and for more (or just keep it online and be very patient, bumping it daily). I'm currently selling most cheaper watches (worth $200-600) even $100-200 below their normal value, due to the chit economics (less demand), and even then it goes so much slower. Don't worry

Always appreciate the insight.

I have an offer for $1800 from a reputable poster on WUS. I think that I might take it. I paid $1550 for the watch about 18 months ago .

Is watch buying stressful for anyone else?

With my speedmaster, it took almost an additional month of hardcore research and visits to AD's and boutiques to make sure it's what I really wanted. At the moment, I still can't decide if I want the Tangente in 35 or 38, or even if I want it at all. The main thing that bugs me is that the Tangente is geared more toward dressy occasions. I want a watch that I can wear during most of my college semester.

Strap Change

Bought myself a new strap, always liked the bond nato strap but just recently i found out that this is the real pattern and not the black/grey nato you generally see

Really compliments the seiko if you ask me

I was kind of disappointed when I tried in on, tbh. It felt really light (not a bad thing at all) but I was kinda hoping it was heavier. It felt hollow, almost, and not worth the price.

What is your daily attire. If it's gym shorts and a t shirt I would pass. I'm usually wearing chinos/shorts and a button down so it would work well for me. The finishing on it will be better than on your speedy, that is for sure. I love the tangente and would probably go 38 if I were you.

I'm still a student, and the dress code at my work has been relaxed from formal to casual. So mostly jeans and Tshirt. Or a nice button up and jeans.

I'd suggest looking at your local national watch forum, I know germany and netherlands have a forum where deals can be had. http://urdebatten.dk/

If you ever need a service done or something of the like that forum will be a lot more helpful than misc or wus.

Evad3, any particular reason why you ended up purchasing a 114060 Sub. (as opposed to any other model)? Apologies if you've already answered this…

Close to pulling the trigger on a Sub. myself, and at the value we're talking I want to nail every detail; buyer's remorse, not even once. Ta

Because it's a tried and true watch. I get that that isn't for everyone but it's a timeless piece. Simple and versatile. Also has the Rolex name which is probably a major selling point for most

True but in the WIS community I would expect other pieces.
A Rolex Sub must be the 'safest' choice ever made.

Finishing is superb, movement is superb but there are others that can match that with some unique styling.
I'm sick of seeing Omega Speedmasters and Subs. These must be the two most verrated watches ever.

I want to see some IWC / Blancpain / JLC / Ball action.

I agree on the Sub, not so much on the Speedmaster. Yes, the Speedy is ubiquitous, but it is fantastic. And used it's still a great watch for the money. Although I do get where you're coming from, they're a bit everywhere. The Sub and/or Speedy are just a must have for most people. The Reverso should be right up that list as well imo though. To add to that, I don't see much appeal in buying a new one of those though, except for - weirdly enough - perhaps the sub, just because of its function as a diver. (Although there are plenty other/better alternatives for the money).

And you'll have to wait another week to see some more JLC action from me… but it will be very well worth the wait.

I can't think of a better option for a diver than a subc in its price range. For the whole package it's an amazingly well made watch. I don't know how you can make a better bracelet and clasp than the one on the subc. The fit of the bracelet, crown action, bezel action, and clasp are all just superb.

The only reason youre tired of seeing the sub is cause Rolex sells so many of them, cause its such a great watch. Also literally 100 other companies copy the design and make homages, flat out copies or "inspired" designs.

Theres more than 1 way to make a diver. See AP Diver or IWC Aquatimer. But everybody copies the Rolex, cause the Rolex Sub is a tried and true tool watch. As are most Rolex's.

That being said, Divers arent really my thing. I own zero divers and if I were to buy a diver tomorrow I probably wouldnt get a Sub either. But I still have a deep appreciation and respect for the sub. I dont dislike it, I just dont lust after anything thats not a chronograph.
