Thank you. I have this as well but I'm trying to decide if I should service it or unload it. Have not been a big fan of AP's chrono movements. It's only 3 years old and is already giving me issues, and many others have had similar problems.

All I’ve been doing the last 2 days is digging up as many photos of aged/patina Tudor bronze. I have a pretty strong idea of what to expect and it’s nothing too bad.

I personally believe 2016 looks ****ty (literally) Brown on bronze? Gag. The 2019 “colorway” is such a stunner. I can’t wait for it to be my daily driver

Damn I guess this is why people habitually use the precanned “ETAs are a proven workhorse movement”… cringe. But yeah I’d expect more from an AP

Which pieces are in your collection now? Watch market gone a little crazy since those old days lol

Mostly sticking to Rolex right now with a hulk, GMT LN, 116500 white, 116655, plus a couple of Breitlings that get zero wrist time but I like just enough not to sell. What about yourself?

Funny that you posted this because I was gonna mention something about this in my reply to Evad3 above. I've been really considering two specific APs over the past couple of months, and this was my concern, although they would have the 3285. I just don't know if they could handle my lifestyle and stupidity the way I expect a Rolex to. I had a 15 minute conversation on the phone with the AP boutique here about exactly that, and she was adamant that everything would be fine, but I'm not sure if I'm convinced or not.

My AP diver has been pretty stout, but if you want indestructible and accurate, you can't go wrong with Rolex.

Not that I need to tell you this, but when it comes to an AD or owner in regards to feedback of quality. I usually go with the owner's input lol

Kinda thinking about getting a new watch bros. Thoughts?

I already have a Sinn so a downside is that lack of variation. But I can't help being drawn in by their look.

I like it… but my first thought was of those elasticised metal bracelets worn by old ladies with arthiritic fingers

And I'd pay extra to have the screw head slots lined up in a pattern

My ideology with luxury ANYthing shoes, sunglasses, watches whatever is "buy whatever puts the stupid smile on your face". Don't buy what you "should" like.

This happens a lot when i'm trying on sunglasses. There will be 2 or 3 models i narrow my choice down to, but then theres always one pair that makes me smile due to dopeness or how it compliments my headshape and i go with that one.

I'd apply the same to watches, i wouldn't go seeking out another watch "just because" if Sinn is what you really want. They rock ETAs which is in everything from Breitling, to Tudor, to IWC.

Cartier has always had super buttoned down, overly conservative feminine watches. I welcome the understated disarray of the screws stopping in different positions

Okay, so I definitely think a small cartier tank, or perhaps a JLC reverso looks pretty sweet paired with a bracelet or two because those watches look little more than bracelets themselves…

…but dudes trying to pair bracelets with gigantic chronos needs to gtfo in my opinion.

I take no pride in saying that I somewhat routinely watch his videos but i kinda do. There's just no funnier full display of Asperger's on the internet. Some rants are particularly funnier than others. This was one of them.

Lmao….I have a feeling Archie isn't really a character, but rather Paul Pluta after a pint or two of whiskey. He's got some good insights, and his opinion on things kind of evolved as the episodes went on.

My youtube video recommendation is Tim Mosso. He is not half as entertaining as Archie, but his videos are an awesome resource for technical info. He is one of the most knowledgable people I've come across on the internet regarding watches. I'll usually watch a video of his a little at a time, or put it on in the background because of the length.

one of the most knowledgeable people? I'd say he is THE most knowledgeable.

I've seen a few of those episodes but they're way too long and way too… civil. I like archie's 10 to 25minute snippets of autism rants.

Tim's instagram is a much better follow for me personally. 60 second watch reviews of all kinds of epic chit.

Will have to look this guy up. Glad I'm not the only one who finds Archie at least entertaining. In watching a train wreck kinda way.

Can confirm. The all green sub is 10/10. Saw one in person at the airport traveling and it looked very classy/understated compared to pics. Further confirms that before I make any opinion on a watch, I want to see it in person first.

Like my AK, the more I looked at it and an Exp, the more it just seemed too busy and the color didn't work. Look at it in person, it looks 100% different. The 3-6-9 stands out opposite of the minute markers so it doesn't look nearly as busy in person. The green Rolex emblem, second hand, and yellow crown also are barely noticeable and much more toned down vs pics. Guy last night when I was out at my local waterhole didn't even notice "Rolex" on the dial because the green made if blend in to the black dial.

Wrist size? I'd say try it on first to make sure you don't look like you're wearing flava flaves' clock necklace on your wrist.

Then again, I'm secretly lusting after a Navitimer in Cosmonaut trim.

The guy is legitimately crazy. He's been banned on every watch forum I've been on and I'm fairly certain he keeps making new accounts like the car salesman troll.

I'd love em but I'm not sure about the size. Although, my hydroconquest wears small for a 41mm.

I wear a 44mm chronograph comfortably, but i'm a pretty "sturdy" guy so bigger watches are easier to pull off for me. You may want to try this on first, if you can't go into a watch dealer and try on any 44mm watch you can find.

if this is your first swiss watch just be aware of what you're getting into. Breitling is one of those brands you should absolutely never buy retail. Yes not everyone is trying to buy for an investment buy you never know. So you shouldn't pay a penny over what grey market retailer like jomahshop is selling them for.

It's not a bad first "nice watch" at all though if a blue face steel bracelet is what you're after. The new updated movement is quality too.

A lot of their models have comparable classic designs. fuk just looked them up, they're even sharing the same name. See JLC Master Ultra Thin vs Longines Master Moonphase.

So yeah, they're basically JLC minus the cloute and an ETA stuffed inside. I'm personally not an ETA hater (as my oris has one). If i'm honest… this blue dial longines master model would be a perfect starter watch, and i should have probably recommended it to the guy above who wanted the breitling. Nice bracelet, thin case, a nice 42mm size, ETA movement all for $1500 bucks? Really strong offering in my opinion if you want your first "nice watch" but not yet ready to make that 3k to 5k commitment. https://www.jomashop.com/longines-watch-l2-893-4-92-6.html

I would disagree with this. I think Rolex is the best watch money can buy, for what it is. Tudor are fine watches as well, and Longines are good watches and great value. But JLC is on another planet if we're talking haute horology (I tried not to use that term but oh well) . They can go toe to toe with Patek, AP etc, and are one of the most innovative watchmakers there are.

What part are you disagreeing with exactly? I’m talking mostly visual here.

Rolex, rich man’s tool watch. Tudor “poor man’s” tool watch with eta (Until recently)

JLC rich man’s dress watch, classic designs. And well… look at what longine releases. If they could make a reverse for their demographic they would. Nearly everything they put out looks like a JLC hommage

Maybe I misread your post. If you're just talking looks of a classic sort of dress watch, then I agree they look similar (but so do most other brands).

I know jewelery/luxury stores are notorious for using special overhead/white lighting to make jewelery "pop" more than it would in natural sunlight, but holy chit. The cartier blue santos looks like borderline rapper's jewelery. Went into the boutique today to try it on and normally i'm a heaux for blue dial watches but in this case i tried on the plain white dial afterward just to tone down the wrist presence. fuks' sake…

HA. The Omega Aqua Terra. Outside of Rolex pieces that's probably the unanimous thread favorite watch. I'm not a fan of THAT particular color configuration, but that's part of the awesomeness of the watch. In addition to near flawless proportions, you get a ton of color options.

I dunno. That just looks…oddly shiny. And oddly sized for your dikk beaters.

I've always found the Santos to not look right on a bracelet. I came close to buying one a few times, but they were on rubber or some other strap; the one with the black bezel or the all black one. Also, they don't wear well on me for whatever reason.

I'm not an Omega person, but it looks nice and it's a good watch. Go for it if you like it.
