Great ending now that it’s over but holy chit that was ridiculous at the end. Should not have come down to that. We definitely need Ford and Tartt back and hopefully the bye week gives the DL much needed rest so the defense can stop playing like chit.

The refs definitely tried to hand this game to Seattle. Several obvious holding calls missed on them but whatever, the KW PI call was trash and the personal foul on Garland was complete ass. I think had they not called that(you can clearly see the guy is trying to block and didn’t know the play was dead) we keep the drive moving and kill the clock on offense.

My big concern is seeing the injury list from this game…I’m worried Bosa hurt his hand as he was favoring it quite a bit. Can’t lose him now that we have the bye or offense better be ready to put up 50 each game.

Bye week feels so good tho…
Yeah the refs were amazingly biased. Like probably the worst we've had this season, worse than the 4th Q against Atlanta. We got back to our defense and run game though which got us the win.

This rest is going to be huge. Hoping we can get some key people back. I know Ford will come back and hopefully he can play healthy. Hopefully Buckner wakes the **** up from whatever slump he is in.

This is going to be a great 2 weeks

First off, what a ****ing season and division champs, first round bye lets get it!

Second half defense looked way worse than first half, did not like it. You cannot let Seattle hang around it is a fools game and we were on the right side of it today for the first time in forever. A win is a win even if its by an inch. Glad the defense got it done at the end as they have most of the season, a reminder of what they can be.

I love the fact that we get to rest up it is much needed after a week 4 bye and a rough rough schedule. Can't wait to see these guys rested and ready to go at home for the playoff game. It's been too long since we've been a contender. Love that everybody wants to hate on us now.

A lot to talk about this game but just glad we won it! Niners!

I have NEVER seen a call like that on an OLman blocking downfield when the stadium is that loud. That was total bs call.

D needs rest and health. Hope the bye week provides both.

I mean it's 2 full weeks to get healthy. The team looked good on both ends tonight, especially considering we were in Seattle and we haven't won there since Wilson started

I think adding a couple more of our injured guys back in will put us where we need to be. We just have to execute and get it done

Home field advantage will be huge

I really wish Saleh made better adjustments in games or at halftime. Defense was getting worked in the second half.

Definitely hoping the rest helps in a big way. We need that D back to form.

Another thing I’d like to see is less Coleman. I mean what does Kyle need to see in order to make the change? Use him as the 3rd down back or 3rd RB. He simply hasn’t played as well as Mostert or Breida lately. We need our running game back to form for playoffs as well.

Run well, don’t turn the ball over on offense and play good D - how you win playoff games.

Jimmy played great in a huge game, on the road, in the loudest stadium in the league. Now he gets the home crowd for a big game.
Horny.

I agree we need to run with Mostert/Breida most of the time. Breida didn't get near enough touches tonight. I don't know if he's nursing something or what. Mostert has been hot as well

I think Jimmy G has made great strides in protecting the ball. I think not having the crowd pressure / noise and having homefield advantage is going to be huge for him too. He's really coming in to his own when he needs to, this reminds me when he came over at the end of 2017

I agree that Saleh needs to step it up. I hate how Seattle was able to come back in the 2nd half, bad calls or not, doesn't matter, they should not have been able to get back in the game. The "Just let them get 1st down after 1st down" approach has got to go

Jimmy G has really been sharp the last few weeks. Hasnt thrown his usual dumb interception lately.

Is it me or do the 49ers do everything well but nothing great? I mean that as a compliment too. They just find ways to win in the last minutes of a game.

Did Seattle even throw at Sherman last night?

I think when healthy our pass defense is best in the league, we are great at shutting people down. I think we are good enough at everything else without any glaring weaknesses. Run the ball well and have a great defense, that's how you get to the SB

They threw a couple towards Sherman but he didnt give up anything but IIRC

This

Really want to see Mostert take the reins from here on out. He's proven himself so much in the latter half of the season and I just feel more confident and optimistic when the ball is handed off to him.

But that win last night was YUGE Great to get the bye and a chance to rest up!

On spread with a lot of you, but reps all around

The only time I remembered him being thrown to was on a "free play" for the Seahawks where there was actually a penalty against them…and he still broke it up

And now the Browns have requested permission to interview 49ers’ defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for their head coaching job, per source.

That is interesting…. I do not think he would get it even he does interview.

So in two weeks we should be getting back Ford, Tartt and Person. And potentially Kwon Alexander, although unlikely. I don’t think people realize how good our defense could be for the playoffs.

That is going to help immensely. Alexander would be great although our LBs have stepped it up recently. Defense could be coming back together at just the right time

Sounds like he may be back only if we win in the divisional round but no question having Kwon back would be huge. Greenlaw at Sam, Warner at Mike and Kwon at Will would be WAY better than our current base. Especially when it comes to playing pass coverage. Would be huge if we play the Saints again since Cook was tearing us apart.

Getting Tartt/Kwon back for that rematch assuming it happens would be BIG.

Per source, the #49ers will be signing a familiar face, that of former nose tackle Earl Mitchell, to help bolster the interior of their defensive line

That is interesting… I do not think it is a bad idea. I just hope he can get into game shape.

I hope he doesn't have to play…he was chit last year but maybe playing next to some more talented guys will help bring out his better games. I thought Givens actually played pretty well in his snaps. Didn't see who they're releasing to make room for Mitchell but I hope it's not Givens.

I'd cut Jordan Matthews or Dontae Johnson.

Pretty sure it's just to help with the rotation to keep guys fresh and we currently don't have a true nose. I think he'll play fine and I like the move tbh. No way they get rid of Givens, I'd say Mathews, Dontae, Exum get released or maybe Street or Zettel get released or a magic trip to IR before they get rid of Givens.

Really hope Ford will be good to go for this game.

Saw this chart posted up this morning and it's really impressive to see what Bosa has been able to do this season but there's no question when Ford is on the field and we have Bosa, Armstead, Buckner and Ford out there the pass rush goes to a whole other level.

Nick had the 4th highest edge double team win rate in the NFL as a rookie. That's super impressive. Armstead is having a hell of a season as well and is definitely drawing some extra attention on his own which is why having those 4 guys out there in key pass downs would be so big. Can't double all 4.
