^ have a friend who really likes that watch and is looking for one. unfortunately, like a lot of Pateks, near-impossible to get at retail so you're gonna have to pay close to 2x on secondary.

This. I may use the potential upcoming transfer/semi-promotion back to VA as a way to go visit the AD and put it out there what I'm looking for and why. It may be months before I actually move. And if I get what I want, I'm pretty much set watch wise.

One of the instances where the white dial looks better than the blue dial in my opinion. Between Chrono24 and WatchRecon prices seem to be hovering in the 70k to 83k window. Craziness.

Agree with all except Omega. Would probably consider them along the lines of an Acura.

Definitely dated pricing for both. But the 39mm configuration of the standard Royal Oak is a flawless watch.

And I fuking lol'd @ the accuracy. I experienced similar with car/gym gainz.

Gentlemen,

I want to thank you all for the insight and advice on my interest in a Breitling a few pages back. Went and tried one on and it is indeed pretty big, too big for me to wear to work under a dress shirt.

I have shifted my focus to a Tudor, specifically the Black Bay 41 with a blue face.

Would love and appreciate some thoughts on it, as well as if I should use Joma, or just hit an AD.

Thanks fellas!

A few pages back we had a convo with a m8 who was looking for a Rolex OP. We address this exact topic (AD or not).

I'd say do some scanning and youll get your answer.

Thanks man. Iโ€™ve been reading, just wasnโ€™t positive if Tudor would go by the same rules of a Rolex with regards to that

Im not as sharp on the Tudor side for ADs, but i'd do the same thing. Go see what you can get (if you can get it from your AD).

It's way overpriced imo

I don't know much about them other than tritium tubes. I don't think I've ever read anything bad about them. I also read they have a new in-house movement, but I also don't know much about that either lol.

Agreed. It's basically a more…not oversized…speedmaster. I think that's why i dig it. But it isn't 14k. Specially with a dink at noon i have to stare at.

I echo the sentiments of the speedmaster 321. overpriced. not to the degree of that 50k aqua terra ( https://www.ablogtowatch.com/omega-s...case-movement/ ) but still over priced.

Omega needs to stay in their lane which is the $4k to $10k(msrp) market

Yeah I'd hit an AD. Tudor is nowhere near the same galaxy for Rolex in terms of popularity BUT an AD is good for 2 reasons:

1: Tudor is poised for an uptick in popularity. Models sell out from time to time (BB58 and BB GMT). It would be good to start a relationship
with an AD for future reference in the instance you want a model that just so happens to be a "hot watch" in the future.

2: Most Tudor AD's are also Rolex AD's. So this is kind of the same as point 1. You now have a foot in the door and aren't some random off the street. Who knows what your future holds, can't hurt to have a relationship with a Rolex dealer incase you want one in the future

omega's pricing has been an absolute joke recently starting with that platinum speedmaster that was like $60K.

hole lee fuk at the price of the aquaterra.

A co-worker of mine has a snoopy. retails for like 7k but is trading like ~$25K which is the same as the Ceramic Daytona. Really don't like it; way too large and thick. Daytona is much nicer

Omega has the historical cloute to throw out the occasional 15 to 20k watch. I donโ€™t have a problem with the brand having ambitious pricing, but my thing is make it LOOK like it for fuks sake.

The bracelet on the 321 is nice but the dial looks like a normal 5k speedy pro. I donโ€™t care about technical machining processes of an ultra light watch. Give me stupid stunning dial detail of a grand seiko.

Help me choose between these two brahs. It's my first luxury Swiss watch, fiance is buying it for me. I went to a couple of places yesterday and narrowed it down to an Omega Speedmaster Racing Edition or a Tudor Black Bay Steel. I realise this Omega is pretty much the cheapest Speedmaster but any others are beyond the budget.

I like him and he has a decent collection (apart from his horrid orange straps), but the guy is full of chit sometimes. Did you see the video where he got his Patek and said he waited 10 years and how it was a great investment? fcking lol

What makes the 58 better than the one I posted? The steel one is actually more expensive here.

BB can be had with more color and a little more "pop." See below. Like the one on a leather strap with the brass-ish/gold-ish colored accents.

I'm leaning towards that one. I like that it's more understated than the other black bays. I don't think I'd make use of the chronometers nor the tachymeter on the Omega.

I've never really gotten the speedy thing, but the one you chose is probably the ugliest of all of them. I agree with the BB58 suggestion. They aren't easy to get, but they are slimmer and more sleek than the other ones.

I like him and he has a decent collection (apart from his horrid orange straps), but the guy is full of chit sometimes. Did you see the video where he got his Patek and said he waited 10 years and how it was a great investment? fcking lol
