I was thinking more short term.

Does it continue it's recent downtrend?

Does it break the downtrend and move towards $80 now?

I have a strong feeling it drops again before it reaches $75.

Yeah I dunno brah that’s like trying to predict where stock prices will go short term, oil futures are traded much like stocks with people trying to short and people trying to go long and everything in between

AMD above $100 would put it at new ath and great stop loss if buying stock.

It got tons of upgrades today.

Took long time for it to do something.

This might be the time it actually breaks through $100 level it rejected it twice this year.

IMO- we will probably be spending a fair amount of time between $70-75 with a full year range looking like $60-78

Suncor up a couple percent after earnings, pulling in some strong cash flow and signaling their intent to increase dividends and buybacks soon

Robinhood starts trading tomorrow?

Thought the numbers would be a bit more surprising honestly, but still very strong.

Good to see the focus on debt reduction and massive shareholder return.

It might be tied to the way they sell oil on futures? Prices were still climbing through most of Q2 and didn’t hit $70ish until the end and into Q3 now, so numbers should continue to improve if oil prices maintain these levels

Not a huge fan of the payment for order flow business model and some other aspects of their operations but it’s strong af no question, they’ll surely be making a ton of money

LOL unfortunately I called it- beefed up expectations meant share price hardly moved. That blows my mind considering they moved to buy back up to 5% of shares this year. Although I think there was expectation too that they were going to increase their dividend. Quite frankly I am far happier to see them increase buybacks over boosting a dividend(as a call holder ayy lmao).

But serious question- they bought back a ton of shares like 20 million or something, but their average cost since Jan 2021 was somehow $27… Their share price hasn't even touched $27 all year so why is their average buyback cost so high? Is it because they are doing the math with Canadian funny bucks?

EDIT: Ahh they are reworking one of the oil sands plants and it'll affect output for Q3 buy 125k barrels/day. That makes sense why SU is dropping. But srs why TF did they not get all maintenance/upgrades that would affect production significantly completed BEFORE when they were hardly producing anything anyway??
