The Saints didn't choke all that much, brah. They only had one more turnover than the Vikings, missed a FG, and had one bad clock management mistake by Payton. Vikings just took it to them and were better on both sides of the ball.

Also, Cousins didn't have the game of his life or anything as far production goes. He just made a couple big throws and didn't turn the ball over. But it was far from shredding the Saints defense or anything. He is more the capable of putting up the stat-line he did vs NO against most teams.

The Niners are good to great on both sides of the ball and the week of rest helped them get healthier than they've been in a long time.

They're gonna roll the Vikes.

I agree Sillie, and then we got the Ravens at 8pm. How much popcorn can 1 guy consume?

Game day! Finally ****ing here, been too long since our last playoff game. I'm looking for this team to come out focused and energized and ready to put on a beat down out there. Still curious if Ford will play but having Kwon and Tartt back will be a huge boost. I can't wait for this game and to see how it plays out. Gotta play tough all game and get the W! Go Niners!

I'm not disagreeing that Vikings played better on both sides of the ball, but they are not a better team on both sides of the ball. That's what I mean when I say the Saints played horrible. Brees had a sub-par game and they didn't establish any sort of a run game. Their secondary also gave up big plays. And it still came down to the wire

I thought Cousins would get pressured and destroyed especially with it being in the dome, so he played better than I expected

This isn't meant as disrespect. I like the Viks and they would be the NFC team I'd want to see in the SB if it wasn't the 9ers. But we are just a better team on both sides of the ball. With all the rest the 9ers have had, with getting back 2 possibly 3 starters on defense, with having home field advantage, with the Viks just playing a tough road game last week, I just don't see how Minne pulls this one out

Obviously I'll eat my words and take the L if they do

Fair enough. I didn't take it as disrespect. Just wanted to point out that it really wasn't the Saints shooting themselves in the foot, it was the Vikings D making Brees play bad and the Vikings O making the Saints secondary look awful. It WAS nice of Payton to abandon the run, sellout to stop the run on D (which opened things up for Kirk), and of course screw up his clock management though.

Not sure why we started Spoon out there, like I said I would have preferred Mosely and now he's in. I want Spoon to succeed but can't leave a liability out there.

Offense has been hot and cold, too many little mistakes, and a couple big ones. They look like a team that doesn't have a lot of playoff experience, but the Vikes have a good defense. I'd like to see us focus on the run a little more since they haven't stopped it well at all really, but Jimmy has to make throws when it counts.

I want to see us get a little bit of a bigger lead since every chance to do that so far we have blown that opportunity. I think a little lead bigger lead and the defense will feast on them. Go Niners!

Well to be fair, not a lot of them have playoff experience lol

I agree too many little mistakes. The INT was just a WTF throw, and some missed opportunities too

That last drive really should have ended in a TD, really don't feel good about getting a FG there and it still being a one score game

6:50 pm here and the score is 27- 10 niners with 12 min to go.

"you like that?"

Ok so this was C+ Jimmy G throwing into triple and quadruple coverage. It worked in the first half but hasn't in the 2nd.

I am happy but it will be a game manager type win rather than outstanding QB numbers.

I think he's playing more like a B level. He's had 1 or 2 really bad throws but I think overall he's been solid. Receivers have been dropping passes again, makes him look like he's been playing worse than he really is

I still haven’t watched the game. Feels bad man…. my daughter had a soccer game (lost by one). But that team was crazy good. My kids held their own. Not upset.

Since the game started I had been running errands as well and has been on a tv I’m every place. So hard not to watch. I hate not watching live.

Lets ****ing goooooo! That defense showed up and balled out. I'm glad they switched out Spoon quick and let Mosely play, keep him in going forward. The defense is back on their bull****.

Offensively it was ok, I love the fact that we ran basically at will but we will have to pass better going forward. The Vikes defense gets credit for playing well in coverage, we knew it coming it and they did well there but the short comeback on time and run game wore them down. It should have been a big blowout like that early but we made a couple mistakes to let them hang around, would love to see that cleaned up next week.

Overall I'm happy with the win but there were things to improve on. This defense is what I loved to watch they absolutely balled out but we got the job done playing as a team and even if one thing wasn't working well, most of the rest did so that's what having a good team is all about. Now we can relax and see who we get to play next week.

Damn I was getting nervous with the starters in there late about injuries but I think we came out OK on that front, nearly had a heart attack when Bosa got the wind knocked out and was wondering why Ford and Kwon were in so late with other starters but glad they're all OK. Go Niners! NFCCG bound! You like that? Feels great baby!
