I'm of two minds. Its sad seeing the animals locked up, especially things like lions and tigers that seem to deserve a more noble life.

Buuuttt, I want to take my kids to see animals and see how it makes them happy, so fuck the animals

Not a fan of majestic animals in tiny cages, but for a modern zoo I'm fine with it.

They do a lot of good for conservation. Are the animals happy? I don't know, life in the wild is brutal though. I have a hard time believing they're more stressed from being in an enclosure, as long as it's decent sized.
